The Barbican Estate in London is home to thousands of urban professionals, a refuge of middle class calm in an otherwise hectic city. But for three residents, the facade of gentility is about to crack over the course of one fateful summer’s day.

Claire believes she has an intruder when random objects in her flat turn up in unusual places; Dennis mistakenly swallows his roommate's ecstasy pills before a meeting with his domineering boss; and Trixie’s orderly existence threatens to unravel when her recently fired cleaner pays a surprise visit.
