Description
160 Things Women Can Finally Stop Doing at 60 is a collection of short, witty, relatable entries that you can read in under two hours. It's not a self-help book. It's the book that already knows what you've been doing on autopilot for years.
Stop saying sorry when someone bumps into you. Stop softening every no into a maybe. Stop replying to a text the second it lands like your phone's on fire. You'll recognize most of them in under four seconds.
To quote a reader: "I feel both called out in a loving way and also seen."
Warm, sharp, and laugh-out-loud relatable, this is a book about dropping the habits and obligations that no longer deserve your time.
It's a perfect quick read for any woman ready to laugh, nod in recognition, and think, "That's me!"
A Note From the Publisher
Advance Praise
"Why does it have to be at 60, why not 40. I enjoyed reading this book. Sorry was a big one for me, I say it often, but to actually think about how many times a day or week I say it, was astounding."
- ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Jodie, Early Reader, Amazon
"As I was reading I chuckled often, and was constantly thinking “yup”, “uhuh”, “been there, done that”. Women, and men, would be well served reading this [book]."
- ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Karen, Early Reader, Amazon
"This is such a relatable read for any woman! I really enjoyed how it has [advice] about the small things we never think about. The extra touch with the QR codes for additional questionnaires amongst other activities makes it even more interactive. Quick read because it is so engaging!"
- ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Brenda, Early Reader, Amazon
"If you are ready to live life on your own terms, then read this book. It’s a clear and concise outline of things you can finally stop doing without a guilt trip."
- ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Candice, CandysPlanet
"I feel both called out in a loving way and also seen...I asked the table with 3 men behind me for help and you know what nothing bad happened! They were charmed and eager to help, they got a buzz from doing something kind ... and I got to actually drink my water"
- ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Alexandra, Early Reader, Amazon UK

As I read through this book, I saw a number of things that I once did that I no longer do but then I am quite a bit past 60 and probably still did them then. Lest I feel superior though, there were a number of them that I still do. Some, like saying sorry all the time, I can blame on being Canadian. It is in our DNA. And there were some that I wish I could stop doing but the voices that molded me when I was young still control my thoughts. Those pesky ones niggle and seeing them written down has helped me see how unimportant they are. Whether I can give myself permission to ignore those voices remains to be seen but it is a good reminder of all the things that I did cast off without any tragic circumstances.
I read the book in one sitting but it could be done in bits and pieces or it could be one of those books so handy beside the loo. You know that book that you pick up and flick through to pass the time. I think it would be lost on men. As the book so often implies, they are rather oblivious to the conversations that go on in the female mind. On the whole, it is a good book: thought-provoking and often humorous. I think it would make a great gift for a friend who is either just turning 60 or has had, like me, the odometer turn over many times since.
Five purrs and two paws up.

Love this book! So funny and insightful. Not yet 60 yrs old but I think it is something that can be read and applied at any age. Some of the things are just good sense and should be done right now rather than 60s. Love the good and practical advice. Really enjoy this book.

160 Things Women Can Finally Stop Doing at 60 by Mina Karr is a witty, delightfully practical, and deeply liberating guide that transcends its age-based title to deliver an essential toolkit for any woman who respects herself.
Packed with sharp humor and real-world advice, Karr dismantles societal expectations and guilt with refreshing clarity. Rather than feeling like a rigid self-help book, it reads like an encouraging, laughter-filled reality check about dropping unnecessary burdens and embracing self-worth. The inclusion of interactive QR codes throughout the book—allowing readers to dive deeper into specific topics—adds an innovative, hands-on layer to the reading experience.
A lighthearted, highly practical, and thoroughly empowering 5-star read that every woman should pick up!
