Washed Away by the Sea completely pulled me in. There’s something about the atmosphere of this book that made me feel uneasy from the beginning, and the deeper Samantha gets into what happened years ago, the more I needed to know.
I loved the way the horror slowly builds through the trauma, secrets, strange things happening around the village, and that feeling that something is seriously wrong beneath the surface. The story kept me questioning what was real and what Samantha could actually trust, and some of the imagery was seriously unsettling.
This was dark, creepy, and atmospheric in exactly the way I want my horror to be. I kept thinking I knew where it was going, and then it would pull me somewhere else. Definitely one that got under my skin and stayed there.
