Description

King Henry VIII was a man who could bend all of Europe to his will…

He was a man who loved and lived more than most men could dream.

And yet he could not conquer the loneliness of heart that continually mocked his greatness and threatened to sway the destiny of a great nation.

This novel tells the tale of Henry VIII through his own eyes, as he looks upon the women he loves.

But it would seem that love goes hand in hand with destruction as we witness the tragic fates of the six women who dominated his time as King.

Maureen Peters expertly displays the dark heart of one of England’s most notorious monarchs, whilst not forgetting that he was only human and, although he tried to hide it, possessed a certain level of vulnerability.

This is a truly unique novel that can make you feel, the way facts never can, what life must have been like as a monarch during 16th century England.

Henry VIII and his Six Wives is both a dark tale of reality and a beautifully poignant love story.

Maureen Peters was born in Caernarvon, North Wales. She was educated at grammar school and attended the University College of North Wales, Bangor, where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree and a diploma of Education. She taught disabled children before taking up writing under her own name and many pseudonyms. Peters has produced many books and contributed short stories to many magazines and her writing normally focuses on royalty, the War of the Roses and the Tudor period. Apart from biographical fiction on royalty she also wrote Gothic romances, family sagas, Mills & Boon series titles and contemporary mysteries.
