A Note From the Publisher
"Look here," the old man said, holding up the strange device: an old leather glove with a watch wired to it. "This is what I call the Feeler. It feels about in the sky, looking for a hole in the Shroud." The Shroud: a vast cloud of space junk surrounding the world with electromagnetic pulses, knocking out all electronics — phones, computers, internet. Decades later, after all the wars and plagues and floods, nobody was even sure if anyone else was still alive in America. Or anywhere else. But the old man was determined. "We get this Feeler working, find a hole in the Shroud, maybe we can get a message out." Now a revolution is rising, from an unlikely alliance of young surfers, soldiers, scientists and scoundrels... the outcasts of Generation Havoc.

A very inventive cast of characters and "animals." This is the first book in the series. I wonder what will be next. I'd like to learn more about the past that leads to the craziness 100 years later.

This book is dystopian, but not depressing! It has a well-paced plot with interesting characters. I look forward to the next book in the series!
