Joan has been invisible long enough to memorize the office hierarchy by jawline, where only the beautiful rise through the ranks. A junior editor at a ruthless NYC fashion magazine, she clocks in on time, eats lunch alone and waits for a promotion that never comes. Until she discovers a ritual in an online forum that changes everything.

The process is simple: want to look like them? Eat them.

Suddenly, she’s glowing: coveted campaigns, a gorgeous model’s attention and a flood of followers. The rush is intoxicating, but the results fade fast. What starts as a curious experiment becomes an escalating appetite. As her new life takes hold, the sacrifices get stranger, bloodier and more personal.

A hungry body horror and viscerally unsettling, this is a story about the impossible beauty standards women are expected to swallow and the monstrous lengths we go to be seen.
