Description
Working as an editor in Seattle, Dana Kline led a happy life. She had great friends, a career she adored and her health couldn’t be better. But everything about it was mundane and safe. No gamble would have made her change her ways, so life was going to change it for her.
After an unexpected release from her job, then finding out that she would become practically homeless for the summer, Dana gathered her courage and found herself ready to try a new life in Florida. The only problem was getting herself across the nation on a tight budget, hardly any connections and an unadventurous self. After many stops along both coastlines, Dana finds out that it’s okay to let her hair down, meet new people and try new escapades—just as long as her sanity doesn’t fly away with the seagulls.

Shore House Slumming was a really good read and I enjoyed it so much! This story tells about a young woman named Dana Kline and how in the blink of an eye her neat ordered life turns into a completely opposite and chaotic one!
After going to work one day and being let go, she decides that a little time off is in order, only to find out she has to move because her roommate is moving out and moving in with her fiance, and the lease on their place is up a little bit earlier than she had anticipated!
After looking around , she hears about a job in Florida, and is told the job starts at the end of summer so she decides to take the job and give it a try, but that still leaves the problem of where she is going to live while she travels from Seattle to Florida, on a very tight budget!
What results is the most comical and best summer of her life as one situation ends and another place to live starts, and all these places she goes to are places she got from her friends and their relatives, their friends and word of mouth, and just sheer luck! Dana starts out on the west coast and makes her way to the other side of the country and anther coastline on a very tight budget, making friends and learning more about herself than she ever knew, and realizing that it's okay not to know what she is going to be doing next week and how limiting her life up to now has been, how she has always been content to stay at home and live a certain way, and that just maybe trying new things will be a good thing!
Take a trip with Dana and see what life on the road is like, and how beautiful the places she gets to see are, how she is so lucky to live in some wonderful homes, and how the people she meets shape her thoughts on life, family, friendship and the joy of just being alive and experiencing things for the first time! As she makes her way across the country from Seattle via the Coast of California, Georgia, Louisiana, and everywhere else in between until she reaches Florida, Dana slowly reshapes her life, breaking out of her mold and emerging as a confidant, strong and brave young woman.
I highly recommend this book and gave this book 5***** outstanding stars! This is the first book I have read by Carli Palmer and I can't wait to read more!
