This is an outstanding collection of novellas. I enjoyed each and every one. Highly recommend. Already pre-ordered a paperback copy and will be purchasing more for gifts. Consistent quality throughout with engaging and uplifting stories from some of CBA's most beloved authors!

There's just something romantic about a train adventure, and this heartfelt collection of nine all new novellas delivers it in spades! I enjoyed all of them. The stories cover everything historically connected to the railways, from the people who built them, worked on them, or rode them to begin a new phase of life. From the destitute to the rich, many people travelled across states or the entire continent to find their new homes and a love along the way. Recommend to fans of historical Christian romances! 4.5 stars
#1 Outlaw on the Pueblo Excursion by Diana Brandmeyer. 1877 Topeka, KS to Pueblo, CO. A young woman who thinks she wants to be a missionary to avoid marriage and see the world, jumps at the chance to go on an train adventure accompanying her maiden aunt. More trouble than she anticipated--puts her desire to stay unattached at risk--when she is helped by a fledgling reporter.
#2 The Depot Bride by Amanda Cabot. 1886 Cheyenne, Wyoming Terr. Young woman photographer is asked to document the rebuilding of the train depot, working with a new reporter from Denver. Meanwhile she's being courted by another man. A bit of action and a solid hero made this one special.
#3 Last Stop, Cordelia by Lisa Carter. 1868 Wyoming, Sioux Terr. This one starts with a bang as a woman reporter heads right into the middle of a gunfight between a railroad crew and Sioux warriors. Rescued by a former Union soldier whose Irish born regiment makes up the other crew members puts Cordelia in good hands. What will happen when the transcontinental line is completed? Favorite one so far. 5*
#4 Train to Eden by Ramona Cecil. 1895 Indiana. A woman on the run survives a train wreck, but loses her memory. A sweet tale of mercy and redemption. 4.5*
#5 Love on the Rails by Lynn Coleman. 1885 Savannah, GA. A mail order bride from NYC arrives by train to Savannah, hoping to find love in a kind stranger, but his workaholic habits and her secret threaten to send her right back on the train. A good example of the need for time together, clear communication, love and respect to make a lasting union.
#6 The Honeymoon Express by Susanne Dietze. 1876, New Jersey, express train to SF, Calif. Loved this one! A young woman desperate to get across country in time to start a new job as a telegrapher agrees to split the last ticket on a special express train filled with honeymooners. She and her new friend help solve a few mysteries along the way. Great story! 5*
#7 Just for Lucy by Kim Vogel Sawyer. Kansas,1891. A woman in charge of bringing orphans from a children's home in NYC arrives at her last stop to find the adoptive couple deceased, leaving the child to the uncle, a bachelor farmer. He has no clue how to manage a 3 year old girl, let alone keep up with 2 farms. Loved the writing in this one describing their different perspectives and awkwardness with each other. Can a sweet little girl be the glue that brings these two together? 5 *
#8 My Soul Waits by Connie Stevens. Wyoming, 1875 to Sweetwater, Nebraska. A young woman's plans get derailed when she misses her train, stranding her in a little town. God has other plans for her though. A good solid faith thread in this story, and a man of integrity. 4*
#9 World's Greatest Love by Liz Tolsma. 1896, Illinois. A colorful cast of characters surrounds the heroine, who travels with the circus train to earn money as seamstress to help her family. Falsely accused of crimes, she needs a solid hero to trumpet her innocence. Loved this one! 5*

The Rails to Love Romance Collection is a collection of Nine Christian Romance writers. The books: Outlaw on the Pueblo Excursion by Diana Brandmeyer; The Depot Bride by Amanda Cabot; Last Stop, Cordelia by Lisa Carter; Train to Eden by Ramona Cecil; Love on the Rails by Lynn Coleman; The Honeymoon Express by Susanne Dietze; Just for Lucy by Kim Vogel Sawyer; My Soul Waits by Connie Stevens; World’s Greatest Love by Liz Tolsma.
All of the books in the collection were associated with railroad…either railway stops, workers, riders, rich and poor, looking for love or running from it, anything on or around the railroad.
I believe my one favorite books was Diana Lesire Brandmeyer’s Outlaw on the Pueblo Excursion. Think of a young woman who thinks she wants to be missionary and chooses to travel w her maiden aunt…running from the thought of ever marrying, but life what she thought she would be doing changes by way of a reporter…will she be that missionary or is love going to win her over?
Every story is interesting and easy to read especially for those that are interested in late 1800’s and railroad Christian Romance. Love that each one has it’s little bit that just pulls you in and keep you turning those pages! Get ready for a bunch of great train adventures!
I read this book by way of Netgalley/Barbour Publishing in exchange for my honest review.

This is an engaging, encouraging, elegant, and enchanting story of love and history on the railways. It is nine novellas, each one different than the other. The novellas are each historical and each about love, and who couldn't do without a little more love? It runs the gamut, young - old - rich - poor - they all are Blessed by GOD and as well they should be, because we are ALL GODs children. These novellas shows elegance and enchantment of these woman and how the men treat them. It reminds us that it is important for us to know our pasts and how it effected us even when it is in fiction they did stay as true as they could to the history. You will not regret the purchase of this book - it is amazing.

Nine great Historical Love Novellas all transported along the Transcontinental Rails. Great group of writers and all well written. These were all Historical Love stories all formed around the rails. Cute and very enjoyable.. You will not be disappointed in this book.

I love romance and trains so when I heard about The Rails to Love Romance Collection, I knew I had to read it. Nine of today's Christian authors collaborate in this collection and the stories are:

Last Stop, Cordelia by Lisa Carter
Train to Eden by Ramona Cecil
Love on the Rails by Lynn Coleman

My Review: 4.5 stars

A series of short stories with a railroad theme. A good long read with a strong Historical Christian Romance theme throughout.
I like to read about women who can take care of themselves. They have the brains and pluck to keep going and get done what needs to be done - often putting others first. But then you add that encounter with a man who can come to her aid. And she learns that even though she is strong, it's nice to have someone around to help - and they become a team. Especially when he appreciates her qualities. I've met some consistent 'damsels in distress' who rely on a man for every whim. And the men who love to be needed and provide that constant assistance and care. But it's never been who I am or what I want. I prefer the other, strong independent type. In this book, you get all of the above. Plus those who don't think they're good enough for the one they love. And some Irish characters, a soft spot in my heart - they did play a strong part in constructing the railways. This is not a quick read, which I love. The theme is the same, but the stories are not shared.

John and his aunt work to help the mysterious woman, whom they name Eve, sharing their faith with her. Eve wants to remember, but she is afraid because the local sheriff suspects her to be a thief!

Honeymoon Express--Ellen needs a way tot get to her new job asquickly as possible, but the Honeymoon Express is for couples. Nash offers her his extra ticket, when he overhears her dilema. Mysteries abound in this fast paced adventure, that turned out to be one of my favorites!
Just for Lucy--When the couple who was to adopt a young girl named Lucy dies, it falls to the uncle, Abe, to care for the girl. Amelia is he woman who accompanied Lucy to what was to be her new home, and she offers to come and help care for the girl while Abe figures out what to do. Meanwhile Lucy and Amelia are quickly stealing his heart.
My Soul Waits-- Rosemary misses her train to Philedelphia, where she was headed to go to school to learn to be a lady. But when she misses her train, everything changes, Jeremy finds her a job cleaning the depot, and finds her a place to stay in Sweetwater, Nebraska. And she learns that it doesn't take a fancy school to become a lady.
The World's Greatest Love-- Will and Ellen work on a circus, Ellen is in charge of costuming, and Will makes sure that everything runs smoothly. But when things start going wrong, and Ellen looks guilty, even Will begins to wonder if she is to blame...
Nine novellas each of which was highly enjoyable, with strong men of faith like Nash, John, and Jeremy, women who step out in faith like Ellen and Amelia, heroes who come to the rescue like Wyatt, Will,Abe, Neil and Mason, as well as women who find their faith like Eve and Rosemary. A lovely collection that makes for a great read.

I love these historical fiction smorgasbords. So many authors, so many different interpretations of the given theme, The Rails to Love. Some tales take place aboard the early trains,as in The Honeymoon Express,by Susan Dietze, where an unmarried couple, desperate to be on the train, must fake marriage. One, Connie Stevens's My Soul Waits, involves one of the main characters being a railroad heir and learning the ropes from the ground up. Yet another, Train to Eden by Connie Cecil, uses a train wreck to cause amnesia in a main character whose real identity could spell catastrophe for the new relationships she is developing.
While those are some of my favorites, you won't want to miss the other six stories, either. Authors Amanda Cabot, Kim Vogel Sawyer, Lisa Carter,Lynn A. Coleman, and Liz Tolsma, and Diana Brandmeyer round out the list of contributors. Some names may be new, some well-known, but all combine for a tasty nine course progressive reading meal! Bon Apetit!!

All aboard for a memorable historical journey on this railway to love. Nine talented authors contribute unique novellas to complete this collection. Some are favorites and others new to me. I enjoyed each story, which included outlaws, amnesia, orphans, and much more. The characters and settings and details are well developed, and the railway connection ties the book together. The contents are much more than romances, which is not my usual genre to read. I like the dramatic unfolding of a well-told tale, especially historical. I received this copy from Netgalley. All opinions are my own.

Wouldn't it be exciting to see the very first railroad for your very self? Romance is in the air and riding on the rails in these nine sweet novellas. Throw in a lot of adventure, dreams chased, and love, love, love, and you have the makings of a wonderful evening of reading.
I am giving this novella collection a rating of 5 stars and highly recommend it to readers who enjoy Christian romance.

This book was a collection of 9 enjoyable novellas all focused on some aspect of the Transcontinental railroad in the late 1800's. From sight-seeing excursions to transports toward new lives, from orphan trains to circus trains loved developed due to lives thrown together in unusual situations. Each of these novellas was written by a Christian author and contained well written spiritual content within a novella. Also each felt like a complete story with interesting, unique characters with all the strengths and faults of everyday life. Nice book to pick up and enjoy a single story when needing a break and something lighter to read.
