Description

Event planner Daisy Maxwell has never been lucky at love, but her family’s financial issues convince her to toss her hat in the ring to be the Billionaire’s Bride. If all else fails, she figures she at least has a shot at planning the winner’s wedding. She never expects to meet a man—the wrong man—at the first event, a sexy chef who charms her and makes her believe there’s love at first bite.

Chef Ryder Blake has a problem…well, two. First, he’s met the most amazing woman at the best but worst time of his life. Daisy is a morsel of sexy and sweet all rolled into one dynamite package he’d love to sample. But his second issue is a little more complicated… He can’t tell Daisy—or anyone—he’s the secret billionaire seeking a bride before his thirtieth birthday or he’ll lose his inheritance. Daisy is definitely bride material, but he’s not sure he’ll survive the pressure, especially after she proposes one last fling before she plans to say “I do.”

Event planner Daisy Maxwell has never been lucky at love, but her family’s financial issues convince her to toss her hat in the ring to be the Billionaire’s Bride. If all else fails, she figures...

There are times Ryder has limits where his woman is concerned and that's when he get all sexy, and caveman like, “I do like that you’re so grabby,” he growled near her ear, “but you’ve had me so worked up, I don’t think I can take you wrapping your soft hands around my hard ***k right at this moment.” Ryder is not a bashful man, “are you done with the measurements? Because it doesn’t help that you’re staring at my ***k like you’re famished. It just makes us want to feed you.” I really loved this book, I loved how dominant Ryder could be.

One Last Fling is a romantic novella. It reminds me of a classic Disney movie depicting the tale of arranged marriages. You've got the innocent, kind woman vying for the handsome prince only to meet the servant and fall in love. Then in the end we all learn the servant is actually the prince.

There is no evil step-mother but a very money driven mother who does not like the attention the servant is showing the princess and tries to come between them. This is a great story for when you want that little piece of fairytale.

I received this book via Netgalley.com in exchange for my honest review.

This book put a huge smile on my face. It was sweet, sexy, passionate and beautifully written. I found it super interesting that a girl goes to an event, Millionaire Match Up, but really isn’t interested in the Millionaire. Daisy Maxwell is an interior designer who is trying her hand at event planning. Always being told she isn’t good enough she hides in the shadows. But Daisy’s branching out is to try and help her family out of debt. An unfortunate accident sent their family into financial turmoil. When her friend suggests that she go to Millionaire Match Up she agrees but only because she wants to plan the wedding at the end of the event. But when her mother catches wind of what she is doing she becomes the mother driven to marry her daughter off. I was kind of upset with Daisy’s mother for the way she treated Daisy. But she does redeem herself. Kaleb Derry needs to be married by his thirtieth birthday to claim his inheritance. He doesn’t want the inheritance but his Grandfather’s will states that if he doesn’t marry his mother is left with nothing. He is willing to sacrifice love for his mother. His mother sets up this reality show to help find him a bride, Millionaire Match Up. He is not allowed to be known by any of the possible suitors. He is hidden in the shadows.
Ryder Blake is a celebrity chef. He is catering the Millionaire Match Up events. He meets Daisy Maxwell at the event and instantly is drawn to her. They talk and form a bond, they are both willing to sacrifice everything for family. But as Daisy progresses in the Millionaire Match Up she wishes that she has sowed some wild oats. And Ryder is all too happy to assist with the One Last Fling.
But when fate steps in and the truth comes out will they all lose everything?

3 What to do, What to do Stars

Oh My Goodness...we have a set up which has so many clauses...
An Inheritance which depends on the man in question to marry before he is 30...ok, doable... but there is also another clause which is a little more tricky...the bride is not to have seen his face before marriage....Hmmmm not so easy....

We have our billionaire fella, a a famous chef who in order to have a somewhat normal life has kept hidden the wealth...We have a designer turned wanna be Wedding planner... looking for an in to the infamous Realty TV Dating and Marriage Event- marry a Billionaire. Our gal just wants to try to get in as the eventual planner, not bride. Little does she know the Chef is the man who will be marrying someone in the end....

And you know what I am going to say next, don't you....
These two are caught in the need for one another... and both have to figure out how to push their individual agenda... and win...
But what exactly will they win...

This is a tricky complicated idea...it has its moments if you are willing to read and play along.

One Last Fling was my first Leela Lou Dahlin book and I enjoyed it so much that I definitely will be looking out for more books written by Leela Lou. What I loved most about the book was the steaming hot chemistry between Ryder and Daisy which was off the charts. I also enjoyed Daisy's character who was not this thin super model, but a size 16 woman who embraced her curves and loves her food. The writing in the book was flawless and I commend Leela for the unique story of the double life billionaire looking for his bride as it was completely different from the usual contract marriages we see in these type of stories. I am a complete lover of alpha male characters, hence I loved Ryder's/Kaleb's character so much and the fact that he was a chef made him even more irresistible. This was one of my best reads in a long time and I personally cannot wait to read Leela's next book

Plot Interior decorator and event planner Daisy Maxwell is forced to enter the Billionaire's Bride Match-up due to her families poor financial state. At the first event of the competition she meets a sexy chef Ryder who charms her both with his food and personality.

Chef Ryder thinks he has finally met the perfect woman for him, but he has one major problem that he can not tell her that he is the secret billionaire Kaleb Derry who is seeking a bride before his thirtieth birthday or he will will lose his inheritance.

Ryder and Daisy both have combustible chemistry when they are together, therefore they decide to have one last fling. Daisy begins to fall for Ryder and gets stuck in the dilemma of whether to continue her relationship with Ryder and risk her mother's wrath or get married to Kaleb to help save her family from their debt.

This was a really fun modern fairytale-type fantasy. I really liked the alter ego aspect and felt it was done well, though I would have enjoyed a little more Kaleb time. (Who wouldn't?! ;)

I really liked both Daisy and Ryder/Kaleb, and the side characters as well. Ms. Derry, our heroes mom, was especially likeable.

This wasn't terribly deep, but it was fully satisfying and a really fun read! Daisy's motivation to help her family was a little weak, but it worked fine for the story. The added stipulations were a bit weird though - The entire thing was because of Kaleb's grandfather's will, which makes the contest rules and how they wind up affecting the ending feel confusing.

The conflict and last 10% felt a bit rushed, but still wrapped everything up nicely.

Fun story, great sexual chemistry, and a moderately-quick read make me recommend this to anyone who enjoys a bit of indulgence!
