Description

From New York Times Bestselling Author Stephanie Tyler

There are ghosts in my past—ghosts I can't recognize.

My painting heals me, but Lucas Caine has made me come alive. My past could take both those things away forever. What started out as an undeniable need to create was quickly turning into danger as my longing for memories fed the rough canvases I filled.

Falling for Lucas will force me to revisit my lost memories—and possibly lose myself, my art, and him in the process.

And now he has me skating the thin edge between desire and fear as I use a past I don’t remember to leverage a future I’m not sure I want.

(This is book 1 in a 3 book series. Book 2 will be available November 2016 & Book 3, January 2017)

Shelter Me is available for purchase in both print and ebook formats.

Ryn has no recollection of her life before the age of seventeen when she woke up in the hospital recovering from being battered and needed reconstructive surgery. Suffering from amnesia is problematic because her past in trying to catch up to her, but she doesn't know what she is hiding from. Lucas has had a troubled past of his own. He has been closed off from everyone, but finds himself drawn to Ryn. Lucas and Ryn have a complicated relationship, but only because each are suffering from their past. Together they find comfort in each other and although Ryn doesn't remember anything, she feels safe with Lucas.

I really enjoyed the first part of this book. There is a lot of mystery and the author left me wanting more. I wish the second book was already out, but unfortunately I have to wait for it. I look forward to reading more by this author.

Personally, I truly loved this book. I read this in about three hours, while my husband had band practice in the next room. I was completely engrossed in the way the story was laid out. The characters were steamy, especially the hero, Lucas. He was a sultry character. Stephanie wrote him well, and I found myself intrigued by her writing style more than anything else. I felt Ryn was lost in a mental anguish of her own, and Lucas and her best friend Brayden seemed dead set on protecting her, but you never really got why she was so fragile. The book kept me guessing, as it let me peel layer upon layer of the story away. It is soft and sexy and very adult. I was so wrapped up in it, I wanted to solve the puzzle myself, but it kept winding me back, spiraling me down the rabbit hole. She was hurting, but her life was so mysterious, It had you dying to find out just what had happened to her, just as much as she wanted the same thing. The story kept me entwined the whole time. The erotic undertones and strong sex scenes kept me up way past my bed time. But don't expect to learn everything by the end. This is a part one of a trilogy, I believe. The story continues, and I for one, will be reading it till the end!
