Kinderspiel Press is an independent New York–based publisher committed to releasing fiction that blends literary depth with commercial appeal. We seek stories that both entertain and provoke—books that resist the rigidity of genre and prioritize narrative, emotional resonance, and intellectual curiosity.
The name Kinderspiel—German for “child’s play”—encapsulates the ethos that guides us. It gestures first to the purity of imagination found in childhood: unbounded, unfiltered, and unburdened by convention. It also speaks to the essence of creation itself—the notion that making art should retain an element of play.
