Q&W champions the “quaint and weird” in contemporary writing. We’re interested in fiction, non-fiction, and short stories that include some of all of the following:
Magical realism
Folklore and mythology
Hidden history and pseudo-history (true or imagined)
Southern / Appalachian settings
International settings
English translations of works in minority languages
Off-beat, quirky, unusual, quaint, and weird books of all kinds
There are many publishers, large and small, dedicated to space opera, sword-and-sorcery, steampunk, and the paranormal (vampires and werewolves). These aren’t for us. Q&W wants the unusual, fantastic, and the magic stories that don’t fit into the normal confines of the genre.
We believe in the potential of eBooks as much as we love the tactile experience of a beloved paper volume, and we embrace both.
