Rowena Kinread. Born in Wilmslow, Rowena Kinread moved at any early age with her family to Ripon, Yorkshire. She attended Ripon Grammar school and after A’levels she worked for Lufthansa in Germany. At the end of the nineties she started writing various freelance articles for magazines in England and Germany and several non-fiction books for Frech Verlag. She absolved a six-month creative writing course provided by Kendal Publishing Limited in Cambridge. Her special area of interest is history and after discovering her family roots with the Dalriada in Ireland, particularly this era. Her debut fiction novel titled “The Missionary” is a historical novel about St. Patrick. Her second novel centres around Fergus Mór, the founder father of Scotland and takes place in 5th century Ireland and Scotland. She is presently based in Bodman-Ludwigshafen, Lake Constance, Germany. She travels to the UK to visit her large family several times a year. Rowena Kinread has progressive muscular dystrophy, a rare genetic disease, and since her 40th birthday is bound to a wheelchair.
