Truly enjoyed this book! There is some mystery, a bit of suspense and an amazing attraction. The characters are unique and have strong connections. Love how understanding and caring Graeme is with Elle throughout the story line.

Graeme is from Scotland and when he came to Hawaii he loved it so much he stayed. Elle is the ME and is from England and is trying to move on from a traumatic experience and a bitter divorce. They are like oil and water as she protects herself by being cold and letting no one in and Graeme doesn’t understand the reason for her attitude so it rubs him the wrong way. They are tasked to work together to solve an old crime and the sparks fly. Melissa Schroeder does a wonderful job of creating believable characters with chemistry and always has a great secondary cast of friends and family.

I really enjoyed this book. I've read some of Melissa's Harmless books so I was pretty sure I'd like this series too but it is different. Less sex, no trips to the island’s BDSM club (though it is mentioned) but still a really excellent story. Elle and Graeme don't seem to get along at the beginning of this story but as they are forced to work together on a case their attraction to each other grows and they learn to communicate. Elle has a difficult past and finds it very hard to trust but as Graeme proves himself trustworthy she just can't help but fall for him. I loved not only these two characters but the whole team, I'm planning on going back and reading the first book and I can't wait for more stories about them to see where the all end up. I received a copy of this book from the publisher through net galley, all opinions expressed here are my own.
