What a wonderful book about prayer, family, love and faith. Not only does this novel answer questions about prayers, without being pushy or overly religious, but just as an action (and potentially belief system), but it also emphasizes the importance of each and every child. And how they are an answer to every parents prayer.

A definite must have children’s book. With a great message, great illustrations, and engaging for those of all ages.

Rosetta is a little girl who enjoys spending time with her mother. One day, her mother tells her about the little box that sits on her dresser. It is her prayer box.

Rosetta learns that prayer is a way of talking with God.

But, she is curious about what prayers her mother has put in her prayer box. Eventually, curiosity gets the best of her, and she peeks inside. She is surprised to find that none of the prayers in the box are for her.

When her mother realizes this, she explains that her prayers for Rosetta were answered when Rosetta was born. It's a beautiful way to talk about the birth of a child being an answer to prayer.

Overall, this is a great little book for home or church to talk with kids about prayer. The illustrations are bright and colorful.

The Prayer Box is a cute story by Jennifer Berry. The lovely drawing by Josie Portillo enhance the enjoyment of the story without overwhelming the importance of the text. I appreciated the idea that the author is conveying. However, my grandson enjoyed the activities that Rosetta and her mom did together best. I don’t see that as the theme being lost on a young child but instead see how our actions are how children perceive the truth of our feelings.

The Prayer Box gives a clear picture of prayer for young children. It would make a wonderful discussion opening for children in a multiple of settings; home, church or camp, I would love to see Rosetta start her own prayer box in a sequel with sample prayers to encourage children to see God at work in lives.

The publisher through Net Galley provided a copy.

Special thanks to NetGalley and Dog Ear Publishing for providing me with a digital copy of THE PRAYER BOX by Jennifer Berry enabling me to read it and write a review.

THE PRAYER BOX written by Jennifer Berry and beautifully illustrated by Josie Portillo has 36 pages and will be released on June 4, 2017. Don't miss out on this exceptional children's book!

What if every child knew she or he was an answered prayer?
Rosetta, named after the roses in her mother's garden, loved doing things with her mother. Rosetta's mother told her that she could talk to God about everything and could ask Him for things she hoped for. She also showed Rosetta her beautiful prayer box, where she put her letters to God. Rosetta snooped in her mother's prayer box, causing her to be sad and pouty. After falling while snooping, her mother answers a question that fills Rosetta with joy, love and happiness.

One of my favourite quotes from this book is, "Remember seeds are like prayers, they take time to grow."

THE PRAYER BOX is a lovely book to introduce discussions on God, honesty, privacy, and prayer with your child, grandchild, niece, nephew, Sunday School students, Junior Church group, and even Bible study or Prayer groups.

I had never heard of a prayer box before, but think this is a wonderful idea and plan to incorporate it with my meditations, Bible study and prayer time. What a beautiful way to keep track of prayers!

I highly recommend THE PRAYER BOX and give it 5 shiny stars!

Rosetta is an adorable little girl who is full of curiosity and wants to discover about answered prayer. She and her mother have a very close bond and as they garden together her mom says to her,

"Remember seeds are like prayers, they take time to grow."

She and her mom are inseparable and do many things together like: bake yummy pies, go to the movies, and hike holding each other's hand to keep each other very close.

When nighttime comes and it's time for bed her mother tucks her in and they pray together. This is a wonderful teaching time when mom tells Rosetta that she can talk to God about everything. She explains that when we pray, we ask for things we hope for. Her mother then slips away to her room and brings back a beautifully decorated box that houses tiny letters that are prayers that she writes and gives to God. Rosetta in enamoured with the box and with the idea that it is a prayer box between only her mother and God.

Curiosity gets the best of her and each morning she sneaks quietly into her mother's room to see that precious box that is off-limits.

Can Rosetta only use her eyes to appreciate it or does she yield to temptation and open it up and read her mother's prayers to God? What will she discover is she does succumb? She is overcome and cannot resist and what she finds out as she read through those prayers shakes her to the core. There are no prayers about her included... no... not one! She is so distraught that she is forced to confess to mom that she read the confidential prayers. Her wise mother sits her down with a huge hug and assures her beyond a shadow of a doubt that she is loved beyond measure and the best answer to prayer that God could have ever given her was Rosetta herself!

The book shines a light on the power of prayer and how important it is. It reveals that you are never are too young or too old to pray to God who loves you unconditionally and wants to answer your prayers. The book's message is positive, uplifting and inspiring. It underscores that each and every child is a true blessing to be treasured and indeed an answer to prayer.

The Prayer Box by Jennifer Berry is engaging, being well written with beautiful artwork. The author has dealt with a family friendly topic that could be hard to clearly explain to a young child but never talks down to them. I highly recommend this to a Mom of any faith, because even though it talks about God the concept is non-denominational. Well done.

A cute little book that introduces your child to prayers and the power of prayers. Rosetta and her Mom were bosom buddies, so when she sneak a peek into her mom’s private prayer box she got a shocker. This book shows your child how important they are and how blessed you are for having them in your life. This book is just wonderfully cute.

One day her mom tells her about the prayer box in which writes prayers. The girl is tempted to peek inside but is disappointed to find no prayers for her.

Her mom than explains her why.

That leads her to know how special she is and how special every kid is.

Sweet illustrations and perfect for a mamma's girl to read.

An adorable book about prayer and how it grows. Prayers shared between you and God can be private. I loved presenting the idea of a prayer box to my children. The story was presented well with important messages at play. We were sad it was over so soon and felt the story could have had a fuller ending.
