Received an ARC from NetGalley for an honest review.

Well this was adorable! Sarah and Ben have been rivals since they were kids and now they're tasked with some ridiculous hurdles to get her best friend's "something old". What follows is a silly and fun (if completely implausible) story and along the way...they realize that maybe that rivalry was masking something more. We end a little abruptly, but I'll take it for this quick, sweet read.

A fluffy romantic comedy. It was a short read. Sarah and Ben are maid of honor and best man in their friends wedding and when they have to get the bride's wedding charm from Atlanta, they go through some adventures, scavenger hunts and we have a fun ride.

A sneak peek of Chapter 1 of Sweet Love of Mine: Sweetly Southern was also available.
Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for the eARC.

3.5/5

I have mixed feelings about this book. On the one hand it was super cute. A quick, clean, easy read. On the other hand I found Sarah to be a little bit annoying with all of her worrying and second-guessing of EVERYTHING. The Wedding Charm did have a sweet message about love, marriage and putting yourself out on a limb. Overall it was cute and sweet and I'd probably read another Susan Hatler book since The Wedding Charm was a page-turner which I read quickly. I also would have liked an extended epilogue.

I received an advanced version of this book a long time ago. This is my honest and voluntary review.

Sara is Jill's best friend and maid of honor.
Ben is Sara's nemesis who also is going to be the best man.
Sara has always felt one-upped by Ben even though she has secretly crushed on him for years.
Jill can't get married until she gets her grandmother's wedding charm. Because family and friends flew in to the city she didn't feel like she could leave and go get it. So Sara and Ben end up going and they are put through their paces to get the wedding charm. Grandma it seems is afraid of too many people getting divorces so she actually has quests that Jill and her fiance are supposed to do. Since it is Sara and Ben they lie and say they are them and do the tests.
Cute fluffy simple read. Would have been a little better with a little more depth to the characters because it was a lot of Sara just hating/loving secretly Ben.

This is my first book that I've read by Susan Halter, although it was cute; it was very predictable.

Maid of honor, Sarah Carlton tries to comes to the rescue when her best friend and the bride, Jill, won't get married without her deceased grandmother's family heirloom. But when the best man, Ben Atkins, her crush and her biggest competitor since school decides to outdo her and save the day, the two must work together to each achieve 3 tasks her grandmother set up before she died.

Can Sarah pretend to be in love with Ben for the 3 days they are in Atlanta without getting her heart broken??

I love the premise of this book. The idea of what the wedding charm represented to Jill is intense. And with her wedding just two days away time was running out. The guests were already arriving and it was the night of the rehearsal. When her mom springs on her that her something old the broach that her grandmother intended for her was not going to be coming.
You see several months ago Jill’s grandma passed away and her aunt, who was to go to the home, which is Atlanta, Georgia before coming to the wedding in Sacramento, California just could make herself going into her mother’s home for the first time alone. She understood but was distraught.
Not bringing it as planned was putting her into a tizzy. You see, Jill’s grandma believed with the of divorces in their family that Jill was the last hope for their family. She had told her the importance of the broach. The fact, that it was not with her, to wear at the wedding her marriage was doomed. This was a broach of hope for a long marriage like her grandparents had of fifty-two-years.
She was beside herself so Sarah Carlton her best friend and maid-of-honor volunteered to use her frequent flier miles to go to Atlanta. Then, Ben Atkins, he is Ryan’s best friend and best man jumps and says no I can go I have use of my company’s private jet that I can use to go get it. Well, Sarah was going to have none of that. Ryan had spent his whole life beating, winning, and shortchanging her out of things and this time it just wants not going to work. She was going to be the winner if it killed her. This time it just might because she used all her frequent flyer miles to buy the dress she was wearing to impress Ben for the rehearsal and dinner.
Yes, alright she does have a slight love-hate relationship with the man in question but it all started on the playground in elementary school when he pulled her ponytails. Can she help it if the man looks like a guy off a GQ shoot? Let’s not talk about what he looks like with his shirt off. So, she needed to do this for her friend no matter what.
Jill’s grandma wanted to make sure that Jill and her fiancé were truly made for one another. Therefore, they were going to have to pass three tasks in which they must have as a couple throughout their marriage…
1.) Love & Respect
2.) Trust & Teamwork
3.) Commitment
But she had no clue this would be in the charm box when she sent her best friend to get it from her grandma’s attic. Being that Ben was going she hitched a ride with him. She tried being mad but he kept being charming which kind of pissed her off. Made it had to hold on to the grudge she had been holding on ever since he messed up her science project in high school.
While there in Atlanta they find a dog they call Moose who kinda bonds them as a team because these tasks have them working things out. They are both instantly in love with this little dog. Not to mention this dog keeps them on their toes. What’s also funny is how many times Ben who is jaded and doesn’t believe in marriage cockblocks her the two times guys try to hit on her.
So, the comedy of this book alone is worth the read. It’s the magic of truth you find in the tasks they choose to complete, that is truly the heart of the story. I give this: 5 stars. Provided by netgalley.com.

I really enjoyed this book. It was fast paced funny and easy to keep up with.

Sarah and Ben are after the same thing. But they have been competing since they were kids. Sarah thinks Ben is always sabotaging her projects but is he?

I highly recommend this title

Though this series is new to me, the author certainly is not. Susan Hatler usually always seems to entertain me with a quick, flirty, feel good, romantic tale featuring a likable main couple. Unfortunately, the Wedding Charm just didn’t charm me the same way, my fellow romance book-loving friends.

It all started to go south with Sarah’s OTT immature, petty determination to appear superior to Ben, the hero, in every way she could think of. Such a vendetta fueled by mistaken rejection just doesn’t look good on anyone, folks. Of course, we later learn things were not as they seemed, but, for me, she still came across as childish.

The second red flag was due to the second task they were given to secure the elusive key to marital bliss trinket for their friend, Jill. You see, though the first task was passable for amusement, the second felt downright silly. By this point I realized I was halfway into it and completely quickly losing interest. Top that off with the restaurant dog and cat mayhem scene, and I pretty much gave up hope the script was going to get better. I kept skimming through until I found out what the third and final task was to be then threw in the towel.

I’ll stop here, folks. You’ll have to read this 134 page novella for yourself to find out what happens when these two knuckleheads finally fess up to their true feelings for one another. Here’s to hoping you’ll be more charmed by their antics than I was. This one just wasn’t as good as I had hoped.

Title: The Wedding Charm, Series: Magnolias & Moonshine (Book 4), Author: Susan Hatler, Pages: 134, stand-alone but part of a series, out to show him up heroine, just didn’t find it engaging. Rating: 2.5 stars

This was a fun read. It was a light fun romantic book. You could really relate to the characters Ben and Sarah it actually had me routing for them. It was funny and smart and a big of an adventure. I was cheering them on hoping they would complete all the tasks and make it back to in time for the wedding with the family charm. This story shows the true meaning of friendship.

I really liked this book. It was so catchy, interesting at the beginning and had such a good premise, but... (yes, there's "always" a "but") there were a few things that I didn't highly enjoy.
First of all, like I already said, the beginning of the book was interesting and catchy. As of the half of the book, it became a little monotonous (I liked the idea of the "tasks" but having three during so many chapters that looked like they were in Atlanta for weeks, felt, while reading them, a little repetitive). When they found the wedding charm, talked with Moose's "owner", it finally became interesting again, with the same sparkle it had in the begining.
Second, the wedding part seemed a little rushed. I know it's narrated from the maid of honour's point of view, but still, I think she could have found the time to talk with Ben privately before the dance. Because... Ben proposing during someone else's wedding was THE WORST! That's a number one rule of "what-not-to-do-during-a-wedding". Even if you have the couple's agreement, it's their day, don't steal their spotlight! Also, it was "weird" that Ben didn't want to talk to Sarah before the reception (when they were waiting in line) but proposes to her althought they haven't talked since Atlanta and they are not officially dating.
And last but not least, as someone who really enjoyed the book, I also think it was too short. Why the book was so short? The characters were well-built but I was left wanting to read more and more about Sarah and Ben's relationship but at least I have to read the previous books of the saga!
I'm already in love with this authour's writing!

P.S.: This review is going to be published on Goodreads. It may be edited to hide spoilers and/or shorten it. My Goodreads's page linked in my bio.

Maid of Honor Sarah will never let her best friend Jill down. She is willing to travel across to get her charm from her grandmother’s house in Atlanta, Georgia. Only one issue, she might have to find a clever way to get there with her frenemy Ben.
Ben and Sarah has been friends since high school but one incident during her science fair which she assumed Ben is guilty of and that cost her college tuition and more of her future. Since then she always keeping tap on Ben. She blamed everything to Ben and held her grudge until now.
Now, she in mission to get her friend’s charm with Ben’s help. She knew she had to suck up this one time with and take a trip to Atlanta.
They thought getting a charm from her friend’s grandmother’s house was an easy task. But her grandmother had multiple tasks. Only problem is that they are not the bride claiming the gift. Ben and Sarah had to work together to solve the problems and get the charm for her best friend.
They have to play loving couple to make sure they will pass her friend. Will they over come their high school past and move on... Sarah found Ben attractive and vice versa. Now all they have to do it to work together and get the charm in time.. Will they make it back to the wedding in time.
It was very sweet story. I did like Ben and Sarah’s relationship and add stinky dog.

Such Fun! Seriously. Ben and Sarah and their longtime friends/enemies(however one-sided) relationship take their cuteness to the South. At first it's a race to see who will save the wedding. The they realize they have to work together. The antics are fun. The dog - awesome. The story - a keeper.

Sarah and Ben had a great frenemies to lovers story that, at times, left me frustrated and wanting to shake them both. Still the story was funny and engaging just as I've come to expect from Susan Hatler. A fun and sassy treasure hunt kept this story lighthearted and the lack of drama is something that made this easy read fun and a no-brainer to recommend.

This was a great story of love and friendship. The main characters have known each other since elementary school and have always been rivals, or so they think. After many tasks that they must perform to get a family heirloom for a great friend, they discover that what they thought was not so.

This was an amazingly cozy book that I finished really fast.

If you want to read a cozy and loveable feelgood-book during this summer I reccomend you to read this one that can be read as a stand alone despite the fact that it is a part of a big bookseries with 20 books in it. The Wedding Charm is book number 4 in this big bookseries which didn't bother me but I will try to read the other books too hoping they will be as charming as this one was.
