3 fantastical filthy stars

Holy filthy smut! I think this may well be the dirtiest book I’ve ever read! And leave it to the queen of well-written kink to deliver a limit-pushing read that is surprising and unique with an unexpected fantasy element that left me thinking about the story long after I’d finished reading.

“You smile like the devil,” Mona said.
“The devil doesn’t smile,” he said. “The devil smirks.”

Mona St. James owns and runs The Red, a small art gallery owned by her mother where she spent the majority of her childhood. On her mother’s death bed, she promised to do anything within her power to keep the gallery running, and that promise is about to be put to the test with The Red struggling, and Mona on the verge of selling.

And then along comes Malcolm. A tall, dark and handsome stranger, Malcom offers Mona the opportunity to save the gallery she loves so dearly. But his offer is far from what she expected.

“What is it you want from me?”
“May I be blunt with you?” he asked.
“I’d prefer it.”
“I very much wish to fuck you.”
….
“I have no interest in love or marriage from you. Nor do I wish to take you to dinner. I simply want to fuck you in various ways that please me. It’s my preference.”

Malcolm proposes a deal with Mona where she becomes his for a year. Anything he wants, whenever he wants it, and in return he will give her the means to save The Red. Not only is Mona desperate, but she’s also intrigued and disturbingly turned on by Malcolm, so she accepts. Having no clue what she’s going to be in for.

“We’ll start tomorrow night.”
“So soon?”
“Does your c**t have a prior engagement?”

Oh holy hell, this is one smutty, smutty read! Hot, filthy, explicit and kinky, pretty much anything goes with Malcolm, and Mona soon finds herself completely under his spell. Desperate for his touch and for the scandalous things he does to her.

His money had made her a whore, but his cock had made her his slave. She never wanted to taste freedom again.

I want to include a warning here that this is not your usual smut. I’m not a prude by any means, and I love my smut just as much as the next romance reader, but there are things that happen in this book that I’ve never read before and certain scenes had me crossing my legs in imagined discomfort. So rather than getting all hot and bothered, I was just uncomfortable and slightly grossed out. But to each their own, and I’m sure there are people who read this book who will love the boundary-pushing erotica aspects to the story. I do want to stress, though, that all acts are consensual and Mona definitely enjoys all that she experiences.

Along with the filth, there’s an element of mystery. Who is Malcolm? What is his big secret? And how does he manage to evoke the fantasy world that he takes Mona to? Not just sexual fantasy, but actual fantasy, with each encounter become more and more fantastical, blowing Mona’s mind and rocking her world.

“Is this all a dream?” That’s the only thing that makes any sense.
“You aren’t dreaming,” he said, and she knew that was true. She was awake and had been every time they had met. “But if you were a dream, would you want to wake up?” he asked.
A good question. A fair question. A hard question, but one she answered easily.
“Never.”

I’m a huge fan of Tiffany Reisz. Her writing is always sharp and intelligent, and she draws you into the story, and this book is no different. Although the sexy time pushed limits for me, I kept reading, desperate to figure out what was happening and how it was all going to play out. I liked how she wove the mystery into the story, and the links to the paintings and art that are Mona’s life is really well done, and I thought the tie-in was really clever. I wouldn’t consider this a romance read, there is definitely a strong emotional connection but I’m not sure that I’d call it love, but Tiffany Reisz writes unconventional relationships really well, and it worked for the story.

"Do anything you must, but keep me forever. "

So yeah, this is a difficult one for me to rate. The sex was filthy and more OTT than I would usually read, which turned me off a bit, but I thought the story was interesting and unique, and I like the fact that it kept me guessing and kept me thinking even after I had finished.

3 stars.

Very different premise for an erotic romance. Worth the read!

Wow!! Holy hotness!!

Red started out a bit slow for me, the dialog between Mona & Malcolm sort of annoyed me in the beginning but I got a lot better as the book went on. It was definitely worth hanging in through the harder spots.

This was a very unique story and I really enjoyed the art aspect of it, that part got my full attention. Without giving something away, the only thing I can say is that I loved how she intertwined the paintings in the story and the actual story itself!

Overall I would give Red 3.75-4.00 stars!

Steamy..hot....scandalous!!!! Yes, please and thank you!! Worth the read come get on this train and I promise you won't get off or be disappointed!!

Mona St. James is dealing with the fallout of her mother's death. She had a long illness and now Mona is in a lot of debt. Mona's mother made her make a deathbed promise that she would keep her art gallery open. The Gallery (The Red) is in a lot of debt and Mona realizes that she will not be able to keep it open. As she makes this decision, Malcolm enters her life and tells her he will help her save the gallery. In return, Mona must be willing to do whatever he wants. There is quite the diversity of assignations. This is kind of a hard review to write. I read the whole book and I kept thinking about the story, but I don't know that I really enjoyed it. It is a more dark erotica novel. It also has some paranormal elements that I was not expecting. I think the first couple of scenes did not really give it away. It wasn't until the pomegranate wine scene that I began to suspect elements of magic going on.
The sex scenes are quite explicit, so readers should be ready for that. But I would not put this in the HEA category. There is also a bit of a nonconsent element, that I don't really love. So, it definitely skirts the fringe of erotic writing. As far as the writing itself, I think it is well written. The pacing of the story is good. The dialogue is smooth. It's not for everyone, but if you are open to it, this book will make you keep reading.

Tiffany Reisz writes like no other. Her work is erotic with a purpose. There's meaning behind everything. While scandalous, her books are intelligent. They turn you on and make you think. It's rare to get both.
The Red is no different. From the moment I met Mona, I adored her. She's in trouble, needs to save her art gallery. And in walks Malcolm. He's sexy, confident, loves art and women. He makes Mona an offer she doesn't want to refuse.
I felt what she did as the journey went along. I fell in love with Malcolm, too. Every scene was breathtaking, even the ones that weren't easy. I was certain that there was no way for a happy ending, but I was wrong. I loved it and I want more. I'd love to know what else happens to Mona.

Seductive, Sensual and Arousing!

This was my first book by Tiffany Reisz and I really loved her writing style. Erotica for me can be so hit and miss but this story had the right mix of mystery, intrigue and debauchery.

Set around an art gallery called “The Red”, readers are taken on a journey through the world of erotic art and the stories behind the paintings. Currently owned and managed by Mona Lisa St. James, The Red is in literally in the red with its debts spiralling out of control. When a mysterious visitor to the gallery makes Mona an offer to save the gallery from financial ruin, she finds herself questioning how far she is prepared to go to save her beloved gallery.

Malcolm is your typical libertine in this story as he takes Mona on a sexual journey by bringing famous works of art to life. By reenacting the scenes from well-known paintings before each visit, which appear via bookmarked pages in books left on her desk, Mona questions her morality as each scene becomes more and more obscene and at times emotionally troubling. Malcolm is an enigma and only appears to Mona every month or so but these sporadic visits just further heighten Mona’s expectations and appreciation of her own body and mind. After each visit by Malcolm, he bequeaths a piece of artwork to Mona which will help her to save her gallery but on the understanding that provenance will only be relinquished at the end of 12 months. As the months' pass, Mona finds herself partaking in more and more undoubtedly highly erotic but questionable scenes. Despite her fears and hesitancy though, Mona develops trust for Malcolm and whilst love is never on offer, lust more than makes up for the absence of romance.

This story twists and turns through amorous encounters but despite its open and graphic sexuality, the story’s mystery and intrigue keeps your attention right until the very last page. The writing is strong and the storytelling fascinating and whilst the story may not be to everyone’s liking, those who enjoy raw and revealing sexual acts combined with a thought-provoking tale will definitely want to read and experience The Red.

Oh, My friggin god !!!! I'm not quite sure where to start with this review, perhaps with a disclaimer that if you have a weak constitution maybe put this book down now as the Red is likely to give you a bleeding heart attack with its dubiously delectable content.
ME!!! well, bring on the coronary because this book man, what a way to go!!
But seriously if you're easily offended or a bit of a novice to the erotica genre, you might want to start your journey with something a little less hard-core, as The Red Is not a novel with romantic lovey-Dovey phrases or lame-ass cliches.
It was so refreshing that it called a spade a spade!!!
no cutesy words, just plain tell it as it is loved that.
This for me was one of the biggest reasons this gets a big smokin thumbs up from me.
and I can honestly say I have never quite read anything like this before, The Red has an almost mythical surreal quality to some of its happenings, with its play on famous works of art and nymphs and minotaurs.
I hadn't had the delight of experiencing Tiffany Reisz's work before so this was a first for me, First but will not be the last time now I have discovered the voice of this unique author.
The Red's Storyline is simple, Mona Lisa St James needs to save her late mother's Art Gallery and she's practically broke.
Enter Malcolm her mysterious saviour who offers to pay Mona in very expensive art in return for carte-blanche when it comes to her body.
whatever he wishes, he gets, once a month for a year, after that he will disappear from her life forever and Mona will have the means to save the gallery.
The tale then takes us through every encounter, each one different, some more depraved than others but each encounter will make you squirm with its lack of modesty and the sheer corruption in Malcolm's every action.
I loved the way the story unfolded and I would say this was more of a delicious debasement than a romance, a debasement that our girl Mona embraced and welcomed wholeheartedly as The Red draws to its inevitable conclusion.
It's quite obvious to the reader that Malcolm has a hidden agenda which becomes more apparent to Mona as the story unfolds
Quite frankly hidden agendas, in my opinion, are all well and good but honestly, I was just counting the seconds to Mona and Malcolm's next session Take 1, Take 2 Take 3 could go on and on here sigh.
Well anyway, I really enjoyed The Red and would happily recommend it to my fellow perverts all that's left is for me to profusely thank the publisher and NetGalley for allowing me to read an advanced reader copy of this novel by Tiffany Reisz, this is an unbiased reflection of said novel.

Yowzers! This book was HOT. From the very beginning I was sucked into this erotic dream world and hoped I'd never wake up. I flipped pages so quickly, I needed to know what was happening. Tiffany sure knows how to keep me wanting.

**Holy freaking smut. ** I love this cover so much it hurts. This book was crazy good until about 73%, then it took a kinda weird turn and I almost tapped out, but I kept at it and man, I am glad I held on for that wild ride.

This story follow a gal name Mona who owns a Art Gallery that is floundering when a man shows up and offers her a way out, she did make a promise to her mother on her death bed to do ANYTHING to keep the gallery. She takes her death bed oaths serious, to the next level serious. I don't want to give to much away, but use your imagination and multiply it.....

Tiffany Reisz is one of my all time favorite authors, and I couldn't wait to get my hands on The Red. When it landed on my kindle, I more than squealed in joy. My mind was blown, the amount of steam left me breathless, and I could not put this book down! It was simply brilliant, and Tiffany Reisz blew this book out of the water. The Red was absolutely incredible, A sweet and immensely raw erotic tale that was raunchy to the very core!

I have mixed feelings about The Red. There were a lot of things that I liked about this book and some things I didn't like.

I liked the paranormal element. It is clear quite early on that Malcom is not a mere human and it was fun trying to guess who he is and what is really happening. There is a dream-like, hallucinatory quality to Mona's and Malcom's meetings which gives the book a unique feel. Every sexual encounter is inspired by a classical painting and the scenes from each painting are recreated between Mona and Malcom. I found it very interesting. I like art but I am not very knowledgeable about it. Some of the paintings I knew and some I didn't, so I googled a few of them and it helped me to imagine the scenes. Every time a book teaches me something new I am very happy.

I wasn't comfortable with some of the sexual acts. I found some of them a little disturbing and dark even though they were sort of consensual. I am not a stranger to erotica but this book pushed my boundaries. Also I didn't love the ending. The introduction of the third important character came too late in the story, it felt forced and the ending was rushed.

I love everything this author writes. Reisz is an auto buy for me becuase all her work is so unique. This particular book was hot and filthy and just amazing. It was fantasy and romance and the most erotic sex scenes, maybe even more erotic than her sinners series though. Nora is still my absolute favorite heroine of all time. I adored Mona and her erotic awakening. I loved the inclusion of art and using different art within their lovemaking. The nymph and satyr scene was my favorite (hehe). I can't wait to see what Reisz writes next, maybe it will be another "Nora Southerlin" book? 😉

Could not get into story, too random and instant infatuation not believable. Crude and offensive to women. Did not like

Mona inherited a dying art gallery from her mother after agreeing to do anything to keep the gallery. She is then visited by a man who seems to come out of nowhere (literally since she did not hear him enter her gallery) who agrees to help her save the gallery of she agrees to be his toy for a year. This has elements of paranormal erotica. The end was rather interesting, still unsure how I feel about it. Thanks to netgalley and publisher for ARC.

Bizarre. Sexy. And oddly funny. I was waiting in anticipation of the Tiffany Reisz plot twist and of course The Red doesn't disappoint. :) From the mind of Nora Sutherlin, right? I could totally see Nora reading this out loud to Søren.

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC!

Ok, the title kinda says it all and if you enjoy this trope then this book is definitely one you will love. ‘Bad Boy’s Fake Wedding’ by Lexi Whitlow is exactly what it says, a bad boy turned good and needs a wife to help him out so instead of spending looking for the real thing which he thinks won’t happen he chooses to opt for a fake bride. Regardless of what I’ve said and what this book is called it is a great 4 star read.

Lexi Whitlow manages to make this an interesting and entertaining read with great characters and great writing. This book tells the story of reformed bad boy Liam who in order to get his daughter back he will do anything to make that happen. So when the idea is formed to have a wife that will give the appearance of a stable relationship and good family environment that is exactly what he sets out to find. However, he doesn’t need to go far to find the perfect girl to be his wife.

Skye has no idea what she sets in motion by walking into Liam’s bar and that she might just have found the perfect guy to help with her situation too. This friends with benefits story just might turn into something much deeper.

Both main characters were really likeable and relatable which made it much easier to read and enjoy. The chemistry between the two of them was blatant from the start and has you wanting so much more for both of them. The struggle that Liam has to go through to try and get his daughter back has you emotionally engaging with his character and feeling so much for his situation.

I happily recommend this book and will be looking out for what Lexi Whitlow has in store for us next.

I have read Tiffany Reisz before and again she did not disappoint with this novel.
Mona has just lost her mother and is in danger of losing her living too as the gallery her mother owned is is a financial crisis.
That is until Malcolm comes in to her life, a mystery man with an offer to save the gallery and the offer of more money to continue. The transaction for this? Mona.
He's attractive, she likes him so what could be so bad.Carte blanche is his deal.

What transpires is a year of experiences when Malcolm visits on a monthly to six weekly basis. The sex scenes are steamy and hot and as usual from this author quite inventive.
Malcolm leaves a book of art which he make the page of the next scene they will act out. Although described, you instantly find yourself googling to see the image of the picture to assist in the build up to the encounter.
There are scenes of group sex but Malcolm assures Mona these are images he sees and therefore she sees. So is she drugged? Is this all in Monas imagination? You are left wondering throughout but all is revealed at the end.

The book is such that you do not want to put it down, keen to know Malcolms secret and where this will leave Mona.
If anything the ending is rather more abrupt than I would have liked but the pieces do slot together.
You will need a fan when reading this the scenes are so hot.
A real page turner and a good story.
Thanks to Netgalley, the author and publisher for a ARC in return for an honest review.
