**My thanks to Netgalley and Montlake Publishing, for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

In this edition we have the story of Forge and Hope. Forge with his young son is not looking for a female as the last one died giving him his son and he does not want that to happen with someone else, but when Mac and Angela bring in a friend of their to help with his missing memories, Hope is the one female that he cannot stay away from even if he wants to at first.

Hope a helps others and loves her job, with a temping offer from her friends she agrees to help their colleague, only to find that Forge hits her sexual buttons and she cannot stay away from him.

We still get multiple points of view from the Razorback leader, the Archguard and that they are doing, but mostly from Forge and Hope as they navigate the changes in their lives and the people around them.

I really enjoyed this book and cannot wait to see how the overall plot continues.

Dragon warrior Forge has been sentenced to death by the Dragonkind elite. Recalling the memories of his family’s murders could drive him to the edge of insanity, but it’s the only way to remove the target on his back. Fiercely determined to protect his pack and his newborn son, Forge agrees to undergo harrowing treatments to help him remember the trauma buried deep inside his heart and mind. When nothing works, a woman of unprecedented power is brought in to help. Young, bright, and haunted by her own demons, hypnotherapist Hope Cunningham helps patients recover from their darkest memories. But each time she liberates a wayward soul, Hope’s personal pain digs deeper—until one patient ignites an unforgettable passion. Forge’s healing journey is not without risk. Unwittingly, he has put Hope in the middle of a dangerous war, one that could shatter their eternal bond. Will the curative power of love be enough to save them?
This was a decent enough book. The characters weren’t bad. My problem is that this was the first book I’d read from this author and there wasn’t much build-up to the world, which some would have been good as I felt a bit lost when I started. I did like the characters though, as I followed them through their journey.

DNF ... GAH!! I tried with this one. I really did. But even though I liked the premise, it was because this was the first novel in the series that I had read that made it so I couldn't follow it completely. In addition, I grew bored with some of the scenes. Basically, I gave up fully reading it around the 50% mark ... then skimmed it until I got to 75% before giving it up all together.

Sorry! On a side note ... It did have some cute sayings to use as quotes.

I absolutely adore this series! A few things stopped me from enjoying this installment as much a I wanted to, however.

#1. After waiting TWO YEARS for this one to publish, it was horribly frustrating to jump right in with all the characters making an appearance right at the first like it was only yesterday. I would strongly suggest a (re)read of the previous installments before beginning this one if you want to get the most out of it. I just don't have the time to do that so was left trying to remember the characters from all 5 previous books without any explanations. And, with the amount of books being published each year nowadays, it just isn't viable to expect perfect recall otherwise. I ended up constantly going back to the previous books to try and figure things out.

#2. As much as I love the character of Forge and liked Hope, this story felt more like filler. You know, like those movies where they split one book into two movies, then try to stretch the storyline out until they can get to the really good stuff. There wasn't a whole lot going on in this book. Not at all like the previous high action installments. That may not be such a bad thing but when one is expecting that action only to find a quieter romance where things just kind of progress and build towards something in a future book, it may be disappointing.

#3. I know this may just be because I read so many books each month but I am REALLY getting tired of the "I'm not good enough for her, it will never work" whine-trope from the Alpha heroes! C'mon, can we not think of another trope by now?!? This one is so overused and there are a bazillion different ways to get to that happy ending!! Pahlease give us something more!

Whew - that all being said, I still love the world, the Nighfury men and the women they love. So, I'll be (im)patiently waiting for the next book!

Let me start off by saying how impressed I was with how well this book stood on its own. It is actually the sixth in the series but I didn't feel lost or left out in the slightest. I really appreciate when authors do such a great job of allowing the book to stand on its own merit. Really encourages me to go pick up the previous books.

I really enjoyed the characters in this book. Forge is a dreamboat but he does have some attitude issues. He really needed a therapist to help him find his way. The fact that Hope is also his mate just makes everything better. And the secondary characters are well rounded which is another reason that I have to go read their stories.

The author also took some time with the setting of this book. It is set in the Puget Sound which is where I live. You can bet that I would have picked up any discrepancies.

I do feel that any of my readers that enjoy paranormal romance would really enjoy FURY OF SURRENDER. You might even find that you will be searching down the earlier books like I will be. There is some violence in this book but it is usually in dragon form. There is also some sex but nothing that goes overboard.

*** I received this book at no charge from NetGalley in exchange for a fair and honest review. All opinions expressed within are my own.

I was definitely looking forward to Forge's story. I always recommend this series. This book lacked a little in excitement for me, but it was still a very enjoyable read. I wouldn't miss a book in this series for the world, but I do miss that wow factor that was in the first four books. However, I cannot wait for the next. Enjoy!

Forge and Hope, Dragon shifters and a good story line. Read this totally out of order since this one is the first that I've read and will be looking for the others in the series.

Ebook from netgalley and publishers with thanks. Opinions are entirely my own.

I jumped right into Fury of Surrender, the 6th book of Coreene Callahan’s Dragonfury series, without having read any of the other books. While I struggled with the romance between the two main characters, it’s a testimony to Callahan’s writing and the world she created that I fell in love with the whole cast of characters and the secret society of dragons.

I have friends that have read this series over and over and I can completely understand why. First up, it reminded me a lot of J.R. Ward’s Black Dagger Brotherhood series. It has a lot of the same elements:

Secret society of paranormal beings
A brotherhood of warriors
Bonded males who need women to survive
A group of warriors and their mates sharing a home
Even some of the previous storylines, which are hinted at in Fury of Surrender, are a bit similar. And, like Ward does with her books, Fury of Surrender has multiple POVs, spreading the story out beyond MCs, Hope and Forge. I love a series that puts you back in the head of past characters, giving them more story beyond the happily ever after. And, there’s a lot of story in Fury of Surrender, one which I had sort of a rollercoaster-like relationship with.

Hope and Forge took a long time to grab me as a couple. I felt like I was told to accept them long before I saw it. There were also times that I felt that they were just there to sell the book as a romance because they didn’t seem very important to the overall story arc. Eventually, they sparked something in me that said “I like these two together”, but I wasn’t overwhelmed by it. I did love Hope. She’s funny and dealing with an awful past that I wished had been fleshed out more. I’ve heard from my friends that have read the entire series that I did miss a lot of back story regarding Forge and they’re right. I never really felt like I got to know him. While I get he’s been around for a while, I still feel like he deserved more.

There are two secondary storylines that are vital to the overall arc of the series: the mystery of Mac’s tattoo and Ivar finding a cure for a virus he released in a previous book. While I didn’t know any back story on these two, Callahan does a fantastic job of making it easy to understand what’s going on. I never felt lost, rather I found myself deciding I needed to go back and see how these storylines started. And, the dynamics between all the characters provided some of the best moments of the book. The relationships between all of them are close ones filled with affection and humor that was very engaging. This is my favorite thing about series romance and I loved how well it played out here.

My only true complaint is a subjective one: I had a hard time with Callahan’s voice. She’s extremely detailed in her action descriptions and her depictions are terse. This frequently slowed the pace of the story.

3.5 stars for Fury of Surrender. Heat level: 3

I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for honest feedback.

It has been a while since I'd visited with the Dragonfury characters. I was able to read Fury of Obsession, Fury of a Highland Dragon and then this release during a weekend binge. I'd forgotten how much I enjoyed Coreene Callahan's delightful world.

This is an emotion packed book! The Forge character has evolved so much since the Fury of Fire - it was an amazing thing to witness. I wasn't sure that I was ready to have Forge paired off but, I guess I'll let Hope have him.

Bonus - Mac, my absolute favorite, is a huge part of this book.

Fury of Surrender is the sixth book in the Dragonfury series by Coreene Callahan. This much awaited title comes to us after a two year hiatus which is why I had to re-read the previous books to contextualize everything before starting the new book. It brings to light new faces along with some of our favorite characters from the earlier books.

This book introduces Hope Cunningham, a hypnotherapist par excellence. She helps patients recover from their darkest memories and also remember memories suppressed long ago. But liberating wayward souls is not enough to exorcise her own demons and herpain, until she meets the one person who balances her.

Forge is a highly powerful Scottish nightfury warrior who is haunted by the past and is unable to access the memories of his family’s murders, the truth of which put a target on his back. He has been sentenced to death and the nightfury pack exiled by the Dragonkind high council. Fiercely determined to protect his pack and his newborn son, Forge agrees to undergo harrowing treatments to help him remember the trauma buried deep inside his heart and mind. Ultimately it is his bond of trust with hope that unlocks these memories and the information they possess.

Together, Forge, Hope and the nightfuries work together to battle the razorbacks and the high council. This book does justice to its name and is truly spellbinding.

I am really liking this series, but the couples are starting to drive me nuts. Each time the couple meets and falls in love within a day (longer if we're lucky) but they don't know anything about the other except that they have this uncontrollable lust toward them. That is not love.

The writing has also gotten a lot better since the first book. While some things still seem immature to me (I mean, come on, these guys are hundreds of years old), she has finally moved passed the worst of it. The characters are all engaging and the story itself always has me interested in finding out where things will go.

I have liked Forge since the beginning, and I also liked Hope here. Even though Hope was brought in to help Forge remember why he is being singled out by the Archguard, they never actually have a single therapy session. Instead, the mate bond that forms between them pulls Hope into Forge's nightmare of losing his family that he has every night. While this is something Forge would rather never have happened, it does break thru his blocks of that day and give him the information he's been trying so hard to remember. Though, annoyingly enough, this book ends without him telling Bastian. Which makes no sense to me. Wasn't that the whole point?

A huge change has happened to Mac here too. The warriors were at a complete loss as to how to help him as they watched him suffer and deteriorate, leading them to only one option. Capture Hamersveld. While that might not have gone as planned, Forge figures something out and has a good idea on how to help him. Just in time too.

In Prague, Rodin has spun his lies well and gotten what he wants. And I can't wait to find out what happens next.

OMG...This book was totally amazing. I had been waiting for the next book in this fantastic series, and believe me I was not disappointed. The Nightfury dragons are incredible and Book 6 was entertaining and engaging as well as a continuation of a phenomenal series. In this book Forge finds his mate, Hope. It is a wonderful story and I am looking forward to the next one in the series.

a wonderful visit back with the nightfuries filled with all the action and passion as well as intrigue have come to expect of this series.

This is the sixth book in the 'Dragonfury' series and whilst it can be read as a stand-alone I would recommend reading the previous books first .
Dragon warrior Forge has been sentenced to death by the Dragonkind elite. The memories of his family's murders are suppressed and could drive him to the edge of insanity .
The Nightkind Dragons are determined to help remove the trauma of his suppressed memories and enlist Hope, a hypnotherapist with trauma of her own . She is an expert in recovering the darkest of memories but at great cost to herself..... on setting eyes on her Forge realises that she is his mate .
Keeping her safe whilst trying to resolve his own issues becomes his whole world ........

This book does not have the fast paced action of the previous books in the series , but the characters and the world-building make for an enjoyable read .

I enjoyed reading this book, but I had a hard time getting into it and sticking to it. So much of it was referring to things that had occurred in previous books, and it was hard for me to figure out. I think an introduction to the series to begin with would have been helpful, and maybe a mini intro/prologue would be a benefit to many readers, since there are so many groups and political agendas.

I love Dragonkind, but it seems like too much is going on around the Nightfury pack. I felt like I didn't get enough of the guys. Forge and Hope's story was good, but like with the two stories before, it felt incomplete. Also, I would have liked to learn more about Mac and his wren.

ARC - I voluntarily offered to review this book with no obligations and my opinions are honest!
A vital piece of information is buried in Forge's memories.
The other Dragonfuries tried to resurface the memory w/ no success.
It was hurting him more than anything,
It was decided that a hypnotherapist would be brought into the lair to try to help Forge.
Hope was not without her own demons.
Could she have done anything to save her brother?
Too many questions, but not enough answers.
When they mean, the attraction is so powerful.
They tried to resist, but resistance was futile.
Soon enough, they succumbed to the attraction.
Attraction turned into love. Awww.
This was such a sweet story.

This was another great book and the Dragonfury series. It was great to finally see Forge get a romantic story. At the same time there was more trouble with the arch card. The story is just getting more interesting with every book .
I honestly reviewed this book which I received voluntarily from netgalley.
