Loved these stories. All 3 of them had a message in them of Faith and Hope. I really enjoyed each of them. The Beloved Christmas Quilt is a book with 3 stories based on a Cherished Special Quilt that was given first to Luella. All 3 characters are connected by being related. It starts with Luella, then Karen (Luella's daughter) then Roseanna (Luella's granddaughter). In Luella's Promise, Dena is a wife and mother of a 3 yr old boy who is having heart problems and before she passes away gives Luella the quilt as a Christmas gift. And Dena has her promise she will look after her son and help her husband. Luella finds herself caring for both very much and Atlee finds himself falling in love with Luella despite their 16 yr age difference. With prayer and God's guidance and a Bible verse writting on the quilt they find strength and hope for a future together.

This in an incredible set of three Amish romances!

I love all of the main characters in this book. Each of the authors wrote one of the stories. All three of them did an amazing job of developing wonderful characters and great relationships between them.

Each story is a separate romance. They are each very different in the difficulties that the couples face. I thoroughly enjoyed the fact that they each center on God and trusting Him to carry them through the hard times.

One of my favorite aspects of this collection of stories is that they all have a family heirloom as a common factor between them.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher, through NetGalley. I was not required to write a positive review. All of the opinions expressed are my own.

Wanda Brunstetter has teamed up with her daughter-in-law Jean and granddaughter Richelle to collaborate "The Beloved Christmas Quilt". Together they have delivered three warm and spirited tales. The underlying connection between the three stories steps from generation to generation and the beloved Christmas Quilt is at the center of each story.

While each author has a unique tone and writing style, the elegance in all three stories is that they flow well together. The dialogue is light and convincing.

All three women have done an exquisite job in delivering warm and insightful tales.
I look forward to their next collaboration.

I received a free copy of this book through NetGalley. No money was exchanged. The only thing that was requested was an honest review of the book. This is my review in my own words.

Anything by these three ladies is awesome and I'm not saying this lightly either!
Their style of writing will engage you into some delightful reading.
You'll be drawn into these stories before you know it.
I have loved Brunstetter's writing for a very long time and I was thrilled to meet Richelle and Jean as well in each of these stories.
I love how each has brought their own message of faith love and friendship.
Each story was a blessing to read!
I enjoyed learning how the Amish celebrates Christmas and I didn't want to leave. I love how they pray before each meal and do a Bible reading before bed each night.
I wish is that more worldly families would return to their roots.
I appreciate that the Plain people keep these traditions. Yes, it requires work but I love their simple lifestyle.

This book is what I've come to expect from the Brunstetter writer's. Wonderfully descriptive writing. Religious without shoving it down your throat, a wonderful look at the Amish culture, and three heart-felt semi-short stories.

What a beautiful collection of Amish Christmas Stories. This Christmas book is made up of three stories written by popular Amish author Wanda Brunstetter, her Daughter-in law Jean Brunstetter and first time published author, her granddaughter Richelle Brunstetter. The thing I loved about this book was that the stories are about three generations of women in one family written by three generations of women in one family. Each of the women that these stories are written about, suffers emotional times and heartache that really tugs at the heartstrings. The stories also focus on one beloved, cherished, Christmas quilt with a thought provoking scripture verse embroidered on it, that is passed down to the next generation on or around Christmas.

Finding the person who is right for you to marry is hard enough, but moving away from family or dealing with a child born with a disability can add stress to any relationship. When your parents do not agree with your choice of a spouse in an Amish family usually means the marriage is not going to happen and could result in a lot of unhappiness. The final story deals with being left at the alter and healing enough to love again. A wonderful set of novellas, that I very much enjoyed. The publisher, Shiloh Run Press, generously provided me with a copy of this book to read. The rating, opinions and ideas are my own.

This was a great book. I liked how each story went along with the next and they all tied together, so you go to see how each of the characters change throughout the book.

The Beloved Christmas Quilt by Wanda Brunstetter is a wonderful Christmas book that includes 3 stories. It is a series of stories that follow a special quilt that is being handed down from generation to generation. In keeping with a traditional Brunstetter book, all of them have a sweet element of Amish romance. In them, I saw a picture of new love, giving not selfishly but with others in mind, and sometimes what you think is the answer is not the answer at all.

Wanda Brunstetter, along with her daughter-in-law and granddaughter, have created a world that spans three generations just as they represent three generations in their own family. The three lovely stories are woven together with an Amish quilt made by Dena Lapp and as she prepares for her impending death, she gives it to Luella. She begs a huge favor of Luella as she lays dying. Luella promises to care for Dena's husband and young son. She does indeed continue to work for Atlee after serving as Dena and her little boy, Daryl's caregivers while Dena needs help in her final days. The verse Dena embroidered on the quilt, For thou art my rock and my fortress; therefore for thy name's sake lead me, and guide me. Psalm 31:3, becomes important and encouraging to each of the young women in the three stories, Luella, Karen, and Roseanna.
Readers will enjoy the Christmas themed stories any time of year. Following along with the three generations made me feel quite sentimental and will likely give readers similar feelings. I highly recommend this book.
I rate this book 5 stars.

Wanda E. Brunstetter has always been a go to author for me, so I was excited to see her release The Beloved Christmas Quilt which features three stories–one by Wanda, one by Jean, and one by Richelle.

I liked the concept of this book, particularly the part of one quilt that connects three generations of Amish women. I think it was neat that there are three generations writing this book too.

Each of the stories were different, which I enjoyed. I think I prefer Wanda’s full length books better than these short stories. While these stories were nice and short, they didn’t include the depth that I have come to love from Wanda and her books.

These made for a nice Christmas read and I enjoyed the idea of the quilt. I think it was a very unique concept.

The Beloved Christmas Quilt: Three Stories of Family, Romance, and Amish Faith
by Wanda E. Brunstetter, Jean Brunstetter, and Richelle Brunstetter

In this trilogy of stories by three generations of Brunstetter women, a quilt is passed from mother to daughter. This quilt has a scripture embroidered on it: For thou art my rock and my fortress; therefore for thy name's sake lead me, and guide me. Psalm 31:3. Each of the women attempt to use that scripture in their daily lives and as they make choices that affect their homes and families.
In the first story, Luella’s Promise, Luella has been a caregiver for a woman who is dying. In addition to caring for Dena, Luella has also been helping Dena’s husband and young son. When Dena passes the quilt mentioned above on to Luella, she is touched and promises to continue to care for them as long as she is able. When Dena passes, Luella does her best to keep her promise. As she helps them, she finds herself thinking longingly of a family of her own. Will she find one or does she already have one? Follow Luella as she follows her heart and discovers the promise God has for her.
In the second story, Karen’s Gift, Luella’s child, Karen, now all grown up and with a family of her own, discovers that life is not always easy. When her youngest child is born with a disability, Karen and her husband start to pull apart. Karen also misses her family terribly, having moved away when she got married. Her husband, Seth, is having a hard time adjusting to the problems with their youngest child and he is also struggling at work with some issues. Can they cling to each other and find God’s solution to their issues or will they crumble under the pressure?
In the final story, Roseanna’s Groom, Karen’s oldest child is ready for her wedding day when the unthinkable happens. Her groom runs out on her. Devastated and unsure how to move on, Roseanna struggles to find hope. She continues to sew dresses for people and help her family, but her heart isn’t in it. When she runs into an old friend, can she put aside her fears and begin again? Or will her heart always belong to her runaway groom?
I really enjoyed these stories. It was the first by the Brunstetter women that I have read and I will definitely be checking out more! The stories were uplifting and heartening. If you enjoy romance and learning more about God’s promises for you, then you will enjoy this book!
I received a free copy of this book for my honest review from NetGalley. All opinions in it are expressly my own

I enjoy reading Christmas books and this book has 3 novellas by 3 generations of the Brunstetter family. Book one is written by Wanda and again a really good read. We see Luella who is a caregiver of a dying women and promising to look after her son. She is given a special quilt which is passed down from eldest daughter to eldest daughter. We also see how sometimes love can come in unexpected places and family may not always be happy with someones choice.

Book two we see Karen and her husband living in a new area and Karen is missing her family and when something happens to one of the children she blames herself she finds herself and her husband becoming distant. She takes comfort in the quilt.

Book three was my favourite of the the novella's. Roseanna is left at the alter on her wedding day and blamed herself. When an old friend returns to town she is torn over what to do. She didn't want the quilt because she thinks she will never get married and feels it would be better to give it to one of her other sisters. We watch what will happen and see if she gets her happy ever after.

Good read.

I have a growing love of Amish stories. I’ve only read a handful of them, but the gentleness and purity of this genre is refreshing. Through these stories, I’m learning not only a bit of the language, but more importantly—about their faith and culture.

The Beloved Christmas Quilt contains three Christmas romances. The three shorts stories—Luella’s Promise, Karen’s Gift, and Roseanna’s Groom—are not short on meaning and zeal. Each story is related, dealing with the following generation of women.

I especially enjoyed the first in the collection: Luella’s Promise. It introduces me to Atlee and Luella’s sad and sweet journey, and provides history to the following two stories.

These three gentle-flowing stories leave you warm and smiley.

The beloved Christmas is the heart touching story. Right from the beginning of this book– let's say a lasso is wrapped around your heart and pulled into the story and it won't let you go until the story ends – I cried and rarely cry for a book, but this book is touching – so very touching. You have Luella who was very close and took care of Dena and also Attee while Dina was very sick and dying Dina gave Luella her quilt, and she treasured it. Luella really took good care of both of them and continued after Dina passed onto Glory. Luella helped Attee and started to get feelings for him and will he eventually see her past his mourning?

In the second story, it is a story of fear. Will Karen be able to handle the stress of being a mother of three? It is a story of a fear of being the failure of being a good mother to her children. With GODs help she can do all things through CHRIST who strengthens her .

the third book is incredible, Roseanne's confused about old feelings she has for an old beau But guess when it happens – on a very serious time but you have to read the book to find out , and you have to find out who she chooses .

I enjoyed how The Beloved Christmas Quilt mirrored three generations, just like the authors – grandmother, Wanda E. Brunstetter; her daughter-in-law, Jean; and granddaughter, Richelle. Each of the stories focuses on the Christmas quilt inscribed with the Bible verse, Psalm 31:3, “For thou art my rock and my fortress; therefore for thy name’s sake lead me, and guide me.” The quilt is initially given to the mother/grandmother and is then passed on to the eldest daughter in successive generations.

Amish stories are always fascinating to me. The traditions passed on, the values exhibited, their strong faith embraced and the non-traditional style of life preserved are inspirational. The three novellas highlight each of these qualities.

The Beloved Christmas Quilt is an enjoyable book to read. However, because it showcases three stories, the depth of development isn’t there, which tends to be a downfall for many novellas, unfortunately. There just isn’t enough time or words to truly tell a deeper story. Nonetheless, the stories focus on real-life situations and dilemmas, while using the verse on the quilt as a beacon of hope for each of the women.

I also appreciated the recipes included at the end of the stories. I can’t wait to try some of them out; they seem perfect for a Thanksgiving or Christmas treat!

I received this book from Barbour Publishing and NetGalley. However, I was under no obligation to post a review.

THE BELOVED CHRISTMAS QUILT
Three generations of Brunsetters have blended and written a beautiful story of three generations. The giving of a Quilt , to pass down to the oldest for three generations. Not only for comfort and warmth, but to inspire one each day with the scripture on the back. Looking forward to more by these three, the stories and thoughts blended very well. Given ARC by Net Galley for my voluntary review and my honest opinion.

Luella' Promise
By:  Wanda E. Brunstetter

Luella Ebersol has been the caregiver for her very ill friend Dena Lapp. Dena is the mother of her son Daryl and wife Atlee Zook. After having a heart-to-heart conversation with her friend, Dena gives Luella a Christmas Quilt with a Country Patch pattern on it that was given to her by her mother. Dena called it "my beloved Christmas quilt." Having no daughters or sisters, Dena asks Luella to keep the quilt and pass it along to her future daughter.  But Luella isn’t sure she will ever marry let alone have a daughter of her own one day. Holding the quilt, Luella feels comforted as she reads the scripture embroidered in the quilt "For thou art my rock and my fortress; therefore for thy name's sake lead me, and guide me. Psalm 31:3." Not knowing what her future would hold,  Luella continues to keep a promise to her friend that will change her life forever. Will she ever find true love or have a daughter of her own? Despite all the negativity from her parents and the townspeople "wagging their tongues," Luella continues to press forward with the Lord being her rock and her guidance. With love, hard work, prayer and the wisdom found in God's word Luella found her place where God was leading her all along.

Karens Gift
By Jean Brunstetter

Karen Allgyer and her husband Seth live in a cozy home in Lykens, Pennsylvania with their three wonderful daughters. This story seemed to capture the importance and closeness of family. Karen and Seth live far from both their families and friends, while Seth is very pleased with living in Lykens, Karen begins to miss her family all the more as new challenges arise between her and Seth. Seth begins to have some issues at work while Karen discovers devastating news about their youngest daughter. As stress starts to build up and the family keeps growing, Karen finds her strength in the embroidered scripture sewn in the quilt given to her from her mother. As she fills the quilt with many tears from missing her family and news about her daughter, Karen learns an important lesson about her family with Seth.  This story is so well written as you can almost smell the coffee and meals cooking on the stove. From the sound of children laughing and cooing to the sound of dishes and milk spilling on the floor. You will feel like part of this wonderful family as you turn each page.

Roseanna's Groom
By Richelle Brunstetter

This is the last story of the generational saga. Roseanna is about to get married to her groom John when things suddenly change. A sleepless night before her special day has Roseanna questioning whether this marriage would work out between the two of them. The morning seemed to be all nerves and heavy eyes as Roseanna held Johns clammy hands as they prepared for counseling by the ministers. Just as the service began John rushed out leaving Roseanna at the altar.  She rushed after him but he had no answer to why he ran out. Roseanna was devastated and unsure about everything while trying to keep her focus as she kept busy with her small business sewing dresses and being around her family. With the guidance of her mother's favorite scripture, Roseanna found the peace she needed to overcome this obstacle in her life. Will Roseanna ever be able to move on from John and remarry again?

The Beloved Christmas Quilt brings us stories of three woman who overcome many uncertainties in their life. It wasn't so much the quilt that brought each of them thru,  but rather the words from Psalms 31:3  that were embroidered on this quilt "For thou art my rock and my fortress; therefore for thy name's sake lead me, and guide me."  This scripture gave each of the women the assurance to overcome their trials to know God is our rock and strength in our times of trouble or uncertainty.  Our life may never go as we hoped or plan but through it all God is still helping us because he knows what is best for us even if we don't understand it.

This was a pleasant set of stories about three generations of Amish women written by three generations of authors. I really enjoy most of Wanda Brunstetter's work, and her novella in this book was no exception. At first, I thought Luella's story was going to be predictable, but there were some twists and turns that I had not expected. I am not especially fond of Jean Brunstetter's work because they seem so choppy and repetitive, so Karen's story was less engaging (and the reason for only giving this book 3 stars). Richelle Brunstetter's debut published novella was very interesting and quite the page-turner. Another one with twists and turns that caught me by surprise. I would read more from Richelle.
