Easy summer read. Part mystery, part thriller with the a few scary moments thrown in.
Unexpected twist in the middle that you won't see coming, which makes for an interesting end.

Another great thrilling read from Claire. Lots of twists, life isn't always what it seems to be. What goes around comes around, you can't always get away it... bloody fabulous- read it!

I have read local girl missing and loved it so thought I'd love last seen alive and I was right this is another brilliant read.
The story is split into three sections and is mainly told from Libby's point of view. Libby and her husband, Jamie have been offered a chance to house swap for two weeks. As they are suffering from a tragic loss they decide that giving up their small flat in Bath for a huge house in the middle of nowhere, a stones throw from the beach in Cornwall is just what the doctor ordered. Libby has some secrets stashed away in her closet and if the person who is connected somehow to the couple has their way there will be no more secrets and hopefully no more happy ever after for Libby and Jamie.
I loved the way the story developed, the twists and the turns and just when you think you've sussed it bang! You find out you've got it wrong!! This has everything you could want from a good thriller and Libby is especially likeable which makes this an even better read. I never at any point thought that it was slowing down as something seemed to happen on every page and there wasn't too many characters to keep track of.
I would like to thank netgalley and penguin- Michael Joseph for this ARC I received in exchange for an honest review.

Loved this book! Really enjoyed reading it. As the story evolved, you really felt for the characters in the book, especially Libby. Great read.

Last Seen Alive by Claire Douglas is a twisty, thrilling and tense pyschological novel. Libby and her husband are given the opportunity to escape their flat in Bristol to the peace of the rugged Cornish coast for a couple of weeks after a traumatic few months and to repair their fragile new marriage. Their temporary luxurious home is a contrast to the cramped life they lead in the city but whilst there Libby makes a series of frightening discoveries about the house and their fragile peace is threatened. Secrets are uncovered about Libby's past whilst her husband hides secrets of his own. A compelling, absorbing thriller with a twist that I could not predict.

Quite a pedestrian read until half way through - then buckle your seat belt, because this book really takes off at a pace that keeps the reader pinned to the chair. And again at the end, when you think the story can't go faster, it notches it up a gear. Outstanding,

Last Seen Alive follows main protagonist Libby as she swaps her tiny flat in the city for a large, sprawling house by the beach, for what she hopes will be a relaxing get-away. As expected, things don't go to plan – this is a thriller after all! – and the holiday soon turns into a nightmare.

This is a fabulous book, which I very much enjoyed reading. Rarely do I reach the 'twist' of a novel without any prior ideas as to what the twist might be, but I'm happy to say this wasn't the case here, and the twist was shocking yet still managed to maintain believability. Douglas has cleverly managed to allude to it throughout, creating tension and suspense, and laying a solid foundation for the later revelations.

I really enjoyed this book, I would never have guessed the twist. I really had to sit back and take a minute to process the twist, it was that good! I would have given it 5 stars but I thought the ending was a bit of a let down compared to the rest of the book.

When Libby Hall is caught up in a fire in her school she is hurt and has to take time off work - hailed as a hero for saving a child the last thing she wanted was to be in the papers....she only did what anyone would do!

As her husband Jamie is now working from home setting up his own business she starts thinking of a bit of a holiday and as chance would have it she gets a leaflet through the door offering a house swap for a man who's daughter has to go into hospital and wants somewhere to stay close by. Amazingly the house he is swapping is a stunning big house on the coast in Cornwall.

Once there though things aren't as good as the could be - Libby is still paranoid about everything and is convinced that someone is watching her and odd things start to happen.....a near miss on the clifftops, a man seen hanging around in their garden and then when Jamie gets food poisoning they decide to go back home. The strange things don't stop though - has someone got hold of their identity - and why are they doing it has one of them got secrets in their past?

A great book of suspense with loads of twists and terns that keep you guessing - definitely one that I would recommend

The book had me guessing most of the way through as the story unfolded with twists and turns along the way.

I really enjoyed the storyline and was kept guessing until the end how it would all turn out.

Gripping story and couldn't put it down!

I really enjoyed the latest offering from Claire Douglas. After a disappointing second novel, she returned to her winning ways with this one.

It's a page turner! I read it in 24 hrs, and thought it was a clever story with a twist that I didn't see coming. The only reason I marked it down was that I wasn't keen on the ending and I still had a couple of unanswered questions, but even with those reservations I would still recommend this book to others who enjoy Psychological thrillers.

There seems to be a trend for books to be set in the South West of England at the moment, And I love it.
This book is about a couple, hes still friendly with his ex, and we know she has a deep dark secret. The do a houseswap to get away from it all but it only makes things worse. I was forseeing danger that wasn't always there, and questioning how the link to the past was going to play out.
Its a brilliant read.

I was looking forward to reading Claire Douglas's new novel after reading her previous and fabulous book The Sisters. I have to admit at first I found the book a little slow but realised a bit further in this was needed. So many shocks, twists and a very cleverly crafted plot. I didnt know who to believe or trust. Shocking to the end and bound to be a best seller. Look forward to reading more by the author.

Libby and Jamie Hall are heading to Cornwall for a break after a stressful few weeks. They've arranged a house swap with another couple and will be staying at The Hideaway - a remote cottage. Libby is convinced that someone is following and watching them. Jamie brushes it off as paranoia on her part until their dog digs something up in the garden. When they return home they find that they have been victims of identify theft and the person the house swap was a scam. Events lead to both Libby and Jamie having doubts about each other and their relationship and a hidden past comes back to haunt one of them. Great read from start to finish. I enjoyed Local Girl Missing by the same author but think this is even better.

Thanks to Netgalley, Penguin UK and Claire Douglas for the opportunity to read and review this book.

All logically created. Clever and - almost - realistic. Good story, never boring, keeping you turn the pages even if it's 3am. Loved it!

I really enjoyed this story - compelling plot well crafted and believable characters.

It all started with Libby saving a child at school and then life seems to take on a life of its own for Libby. A holiday house swap is just the thing to help take her mind off events. What could possibly go wrong with this senario? This book has so many twists. A compelling read you won't want to miss
