This book felt like a Hallmark movie in the best way. I really enjoyed the writing style of Julieann Dove. It was a cute, witty read. I will say that the ending felt really rushed, the story felt a bit unfinished.

The Kentucky Cure by Julieanne Dove is about a young woman who has commitment troubles stemming from childhood. It was a very enjoyable book to read.

Kentucky Cure by Julieanne Dove is a great journey. A young woman who has commitment issues may find her cure after all. The main character, Elise, was believable. I felt like she kept running away from life over and over again. It was hard to feel what she was really feeling. I couldn't really get a good grasp on it in the beginning. Then, towards the middle I discovered why she has the issue. But again, I couldn't really connect with her. Instead, I felt more connection to the guys who loved her. Heartbreaking, heartfelt, and emotional. The whole story felt sad. Until the ending...it was great. It was worth reading the ending. The title fits the plot well. Overall, Kentucky Cure is a contemporary romance novel that is entertaining.

A second chance romance. This was an enjoyable read. I don't know wat, but it just felt like something was missing. I think the situation with Darren as well as Elise's mother just didn't feel quite resolved. Overall, it was well written.

This book drew me in from the very beginning and kept me totally hooked until the very end! This book was hard to put down once I started it, therefore, I finished it in one sitting!

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.

***ARC received in exchange of an honest opinion***

I debated with myself how many stars I should rate this book, I though about lowering it, but since I enjoyed the first half of the book a lot more I stuck with 3 stars.

That being said, I really liked the book when I started, the writing was good and the story kept my interest, until about half of it. I could relate to a heroine who was veey afraid of commitments and I actually really liked her boyfriend.

Then, something comes up and she has to go back to Kentucky, after moving to California 14 years ago. And in Kentucky a lot happened and changed, including the heroine. It felt like it was a diffent person who was in her body there. Suddenly I couldn't relate to her and her story that much. When first I could relate to her fear of commitment, then I just couldn't believe how heartless she became.

I wish there was more about her past explained, because I just felt left out with the whole Melanie and Ben story. Yeah, we know what happened, but I feel like something like that needed more dwelling on. A bit more work. And that's when the writing went downhill for me. Because I needed a lot more from the story from the second half on and I wasn't getting it.

I enjoyed the book and I feel like some characters didn't deserve the treatment they were given. And towards the end I also felt left out, because Elise left something behind and it was just that. Not more development. For me it needed it least one more scene or a biy more to it.

But if I would point out what, in the whole story, left a bad taste in my mouth (or yet, in my eyes), it was the ending. That was waaay too left out there. Again, one more scene wouod have wrapped up the story a lot more for me.

In the end, this was an ok story for me, but I feel like things could have been wrapped out more tightly.
