Unfortunately I was unable to read and review the copy of Arthur's War and Peace that I was sent because the file would not open on my computer or iPad. Given this I'm unable to comment on the contents of the book at all. I would like to thank Netgalley and the publisher for accepting me to review the book however. Hopefully I will not experience this problem again in the future.

I was given and advanced copy of this book by Netgalley and the publishers, in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.
I have to say I did not really enjoy the book. It appears to be the fictionalisation of a real soldiers post traumatic stress bought on by his experiences during WW2. The blurb on the book cover gives a very fair outline of the nature of the book but the writing by the author feels scrappy and the .pdf version I read could do with a good editor's blue pencil. I think the actual soldier was not well served by this book
I suspect the book would have been better had the author documented clearly and calmly the real life story without the stilted dialogue which seemed not to reflect that more likely language of the paratroops given the disasters they faced.
