I started out hopeful that my children would enjoy reading this with me. It certainly sounds like a book they would enjoy. Unfortunately, it did not hold their interest and we did not finish this story.

Very cute story for the young and the cats lovers of all ages. Dog, a cat who acts like a dog and his friends head out on an adventure to find 3 kittens. Things don't always go smoothly in this children's thriller but it's works out in the end. I think kids starting from about 8 or 9 years old will love this book. There are several cute black and white pictures throughout the book.

Princess Fuzzypants here:
I do love books that star kitties whether they are for big humans or little ones. I read and reviewed the first book about Dog and I really liked it. I liked this one too. Dog and his mentor George discover three lost kittens in their backyard. Something scary was happening and their Mother told them to run away. They followed her instructions but do not know how to get back to her. In fact, they don't know if she is all right.
George, Dog and furriends take it upon themselves to lead the kittens back to their mother and encounter a Siamese lady-cat who offers to take them there. George feels there is something wrong and when his poor old paws can walk no more, he returns to his backyard.
Sadly the Siamese is a very bad cat and she is leading them to their doom.
This is where I think younger audiences might find it too scary but it all works out in the end so even if there is some concern, it is resolved.
Dog is a great character. He was brought up amongst dogs so he has a gift of being able to understand and communicate. It is a nifty skill that comes in handy more than one time. The kittens are so cute and George is so wise. In fact, all the kitties are great.
I can recommend this book for the young and young at heart.. I give it five purrs and two paws up.
