This book was a little confusing to read in the beginning but it did come together in the end which I apprecited. The book is all about our main character, Penny she is looking after her granddaughter when all of a sudden the child goes missing along with her estranged husband. No one is too worried at first because they will turn up eventually. However as the days go on tensions begin to rise. While I enjoyed parts of this novel because it took a very serious topic but gave it some humor and a light feeling when you read it, I didn't like others because I felt that it just dragged on. It wasn't as intense as I was expecting in parts to that was good, however
I found myself putting this one down after ever few pages because it just couldn't hold my interest. I thought that this was going to be more of a mystery and not a romance book so I was a little confused. I feel that this is one of those books which have to be read twice in order to fully appreciate it.

I am reviewing a copy of Gone Tomorrow through Blackjack Publishing and Netgalley:

Penny is a vulnerable woman, approaching retirement, she feels she is to old to love again, and worries that she doesn't have a lot of years left. When her Granddaughter goes missing she realizes that it is best to make all you can out of today, because everything can change in an instant.

Gone Tomorrow is funny, entertaining, dark and filled with suspense. The main character Penny is a believable, funny, spunky, likable, almost retirement aged woman

If you are looking for a short, action packed read then I would recommend Gone Tomorrow!

Five out of five stars!

Happy Reading!

*thank you to Netgalley and BlackJack Publishing for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review*

2 stars.
This was just OK. The first 30% was quite good but I felt that the rest of it just dragged and was rather boring. It was a struggle to get through and I'd hoped it would get more interesting but it didn't. I wasn't a fan of any of the romance but I did like the relationship between Penny and Rosie. It was sweet. If you are looking for a cosy and light crime/mystery/drama type with a splash of romance then you would probably quite like this, but otherwise, I'd give it a miss.

Amber alert. This tale is sometimes humorous, occasionally surprising and suspenseful. There was one scene that could have been left out, but that is a personal preference. It was easy to skip over. There are wedding plans and neighbors. I enjoyed the non-American spelling and expressions sprinkled throughout. It was interesting that not much happened or was revealed as expected. Helped bring interest to the story.

Penny Rushmore writes books and has a nice life with her dog Tigger and occasional visits from her beloved granddaughter Rosie. Then, the unthinkable happens. Rosie’s mother Crystal takes her away, and the rest of the book is dedicated to finding and rescuing Rosie. Penny is one very determined grandmother, and she has the help of a rogue police detective, who also happens to be very attractive. Her sister Stephanie is also an author and provokes Penny to greater feats of daring, while her women’ s club meets to encourage her to just keep working on her book and to start a relationship with Rick, the neighboring police detective who is so “hot.” When Penny finds out where Rosie is, wild horses will not stop her from doing everything possible to get her safely home again. The adventure is believable and entertaining, although there are a lot of characters who do not seem necessary and detract from the flow of the story. All in all, the book was enjoyable with a lot of humor, some suspense and fun characters. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who would like to laugh out loud and cheer for the recovery of the kidnapped child.

Review to be updated at a later time once the first two books have been read as well. I was enjoying it until I realized there were other books I had not read yet.

An easy quick read. Penny's grand daughter disappears and it is up to her to find her. I liked the style of writing and the pace of the book. I think parts of the plot are a bit unbelievable but overall it is an enjoyable read.
