I loved the first book (London Belongs to Me) so I was really excited to read the sequel. Middleton expertly connects the serious topics of anxiety and pursing relationships, while still creating drama and humour/entertainment when needed. The nerdy elements were so appreciated, and the steam factor was up a little more as well! If you like any sort of mature YA contemporary ... then I suggest you gives these books a chance! Can't wait to read what else Jacquelyn Middleton puts out!

4,5 beautiful stars!!

I wasn't familiar with this author and series yet, but the synopsis looked so good that I just couldn't not apply for an e-arc of it haha. And I'm so happy and thankful the publisher and net galley send it to me because this was a truly fun and great read to me!

I loved the authors writing and how she goes about her characters experiencing ups and downs, which simultaniously also ended in these characters being truly well developed and had a really believable romance in which they're experiencing so many positive and also negative things that can go about when having a relationship and trying to find your HEA. I absolutely loved how easily I could connect to these characters and their romance.

This was a story filled with passion in regards to finding out what you want to believe, dream of, and strive for it and I think the author did such a good job on 'bringing this out in the open' and I'm now super excited to read more of her work. This romance has so many ingredients that I just love when reading a book; It had me excited, sad, hopeful, smiling and feeling so many other emotions. Basically: All the feels!

A perfect pic for when you want to pick up a romance story, set in beautiful London I might add as well, which is Always a plus for me haha, with such good character and romance development. I love it when finishing a book that leaves me just wanting to take a moment to take a breath and then looking forward to read more by the author.

Sometimes love just isn't enough, and that is examined in London, Can You Wait. I thought this novel was really thought provoking and intriguing.

I absolutely loved London Belongs to Me and was so excited to jump in to London, Can You Wait. I was not expecting the absolute rollercoaster my emotions would go through.

There is so much that Alex goes through, both good and bad. The author did a wonderful job depicting the ups and downs of love, caring for yourself, and how hard growing up can be.

While I had a feeling of where the plot might end, how everything unfolded well done and often surprising!

I would not recommend starting this book late in the evening because you won't be able to put it down! I started this right before bed and kept reading into the early morning just to finish it.

This was an average YA contemporary novel. Nothing really special but pretty quick to read. The characters didn't really do anything for me.

Unfortunately, this just really wasn't a book for me.

This book was extremely well written and more realistic than your average chick lit book. I would read every night wanting to know how the story ends but there was always so much more to the story!! Sometimes you breeze through a book then it ends leaving you feeling like there could have been more to the story... this book is not like that at all. At the end of this book all I thought was, YES! That’s the way books should end.

Alex and Mark are a cute couple, they have similar interests in life and careers but also different enough that it isn’t boring. They have a great circle of friends and they both have secrets and major issues just like everyone else.

I love how this story talks about their struggles and shows them each working through those issues to become better individuals.

After I finished reading London, Can You Wait I realized it’s the second book in the series and now I am excited to go back and read the first.

London, Can You Wait is the first book by Jacquelyn Middleton for me. However, it is, the second book in the London Belongs To Me series. I didn’t read the first book and didn’t feel lost at all. There is some backstory that I need, but it is not necessary. Ms. Middleton has a smooth, natural rhythm to her writing style. She does an excellent job of conveying the characters’ depth of emotions throughout the story for the reader to experience the sadness, depression, joy, and hope with the characters.

London Can You Wait is the story about two individuals whose past haunts them in different ways and puts them on a path of potential relationship destruction. Mark is an actor finally making a name for himself. He is afraid to take a break or turn away a fan. He takes the term workaholic to a whole new level. He can’t say no to his agent and he can’t say yes to Alex when she needs time with him.

Alex is an up-and-coming playwright with an early success behind her but is now getting doors slammed in her face. Add to her disappointment; she has severe anxiety that holds her back from going to Mark when invited to the set. When she does venture out with Alex, she questions why he is interested in her and hates some of the comments his fans say about her.

Ms. Middleton sets up a couple of twists in the story that shock the reader, at least it did this reader. It’s not that I didn’t expect Mark’s behavior at the initial twist even though I didn’t want to read it, it works here. What makes the first twist work for this couple is that Mark has so many secrets that he doesn’t share with Alex and vice versa. There is a lot of small betrayals by omission that is later compounded by more serious failures. Neither Alex nor Mark shares what is going on in their life or their heads most of the time nor do they share the history thereby setting them up to act irrationally. The twists manage to shock and later say thank god.

The London setting, the realistic portrayal of a celebrity’s life, and engaging ancillary characters add to the enjoyment of the story. The secondary characters take over the story sometimes. There are a lot of potential stories brewing in them if the author so decides. The main characters take the reader through some stress and angst while the ancillary characters lighten the mood at times.

I struggle with weighing all the things I love with the few aspects that make me crazy. I can honestly say that I’m happy that I didn’t read book one first. If London Belongs To Me ends on a happy-for-now note, the events in this book would make me question why Mark and Alex aren’t communicating at this point in the relationship.
There are moments in the story that slow and I had to struggle to keep focus. I believe this is a trap of new authors who try to be too detail oriented. Yes, we want to know the people, setting, and their interactions but sometimes the author must trust her readers’ imagination also and remember that more isn’t necessarily better.

In summary, London, Can You Wait is nicely done. The depiction of the struggle of a person with anxiety is well done. It is also a good representation of the downside of celebrity and how a person in that industry can get overwhelmed with the fans, fear of failing, and an entourage that doesn’t have your best interests at heart. I like Alex and Mark, their friends, and their fight for a life together. The story wraps up nicely. I will keep my eye out for more books by Jacquelyn Middleton in the future.

I loved the continuation of the love story of Mark and Alex, showing how sometimes not only love lives a romance but also of dialogue, friendship, understanding, companionship.
The book shows the couple's Happy Ever After.... but was it life happy forever? because each one still keeps each pains from the other and this generates several misunderstandings. The way the writer drives the beautiful history on a crescendo, trapping the reader to know what will happen to the characters has been very well done.
The participation of the characters that generate the conflict and the other essential to the resolution of everything and take care of Alex while she tries to understand what went wrong and moves on with her life.
I also loved the moment that generated the title and the way Alex dialogues with London.
The ending was overwhelming and it surprised me a lot.
5/5 stars

I thoroughly enjoyed this read! Jacquelyn took me through a rollercoaster of emotions and I absolutely loved it (though I do have yet another character to add to my shit list. Two, actually.)
I'd actually really like to do a timeline for this series (I did it for the Divergent series already) just so that I can keep track of when certain things took place! But I loved that we were even taken into the future!

I'm trying to be super careful about keeping this a spoiler review which turns out to be rather difficult... While I wasn't happy about certain plotlines of the book, I do understand that these were things that NEEDED to happen in order for Alex to grow as a character. I enjoyed that we were given the opportunity to explore Mark's back story as well!

The side characters were absolutely amazing in this one as they were in the first one. I love that Lucy was able to find someone, along with that said person. It made me so happy that she was able to find happiness.

What happens in the last chapter of this book, I completely swooned. I can't wait to see it come into fruition for the next book! 😉 Alex and Mark are absolutely meant to be and I'm so proud of this ship that Jax has given us!

Thank you so much Jacquelyn, Kirkwall books, and Netgalley for giving me the opportunity to read this book! I would have had it done much sooner but some things happened in my personal life so better late than never, right?

A perfect update/ending to Mark and Alex story! Great romance! So completely satisfying and I hope there’s more in this series!

This is the second book in Jacquelyn Middleton's series and I loved it! The first one is called London Belongs to Me where we are introduced to Alex Sinclair, and Mark her boyfriend, and there is also a rich cast of characters that give this book a feeling of great friends, happiness and hope for the future.

The book picks up where the first one left off, and Alex and Mark have become so successful, but Alex misses Mark. He is always in a different country, or city and they barely get to see each other. Mark is the kind of actor that says yes to everything his manager asks him to do and by doing this he keeps breaking plans with Alex. Alex starts feeling insecure and is getting panic attacks again, and her writing is suffering as a direct result.

The whole gang is there to support both of them, but the heart wants what it wants. In the meantime, Mark has started to hide things from Alex which is bad as she finds out things from others, rather than from him, or in the tabloids.

What will happen to these two, can Alex and Mark manage to stay together? What will it take for Alex to get her writing back and as for Mark, what will it take for him to realize everything is not as it seems?

There is a lot of angst, great plot twists and new characters that add a lot more to the overall story. I gave this book 5*****stars!

Thank you to Kirkwell books and NetGalley for an advanced copy in exchange for this review.

This is a follow up to London Belongs to Me. Alex and Mark's lives have changed. He is famous now while she is experiencing so much career uncertain. What will happen now?

I just could not get into this one. Something about Alex was slightly annoying. I don't think this is the fault of the writer. It just wasn't for me! I gave it a shot, and the writing wasn't terrible. I am sure plenty of people will this book, I am just not one of them.

I read London Belongs To Me earlier this year, and really enjoyed it (you can read my review here), but London, Can You Wait? is SO MUCH BETTER! I was feeling so many emotions while reading, and could not put it down!

London, Can You Wait? is the sequel to London Belongs to Me, and follows Alex Sinclair an American playwright living in London. If you haven't read the first book that's okay, LCYW can be read as a standalone (but I def recommend reading the first one). There's also a glossary in the back of the book with the British terms used throughout the novel.

It's been a few months since I read the first book, and it took me a couple of chapters to get back into the story and become reacquainted with the characters, but once I became familiar I flew through the book. I was so glad to see that fandoms were still such a big part of the book, especially since Mark is now famous and participating in conventions! Like the first book, this one was so well written, I could definitely feel all of Alex's emotions.

Mark and Alex's relationship felt very realistic (minus Mark being a hella famous actor). They love each other, but the relationship isn't perfect. Alex's anxiety started getting bad again and her career weren't going according to plan, but she didn't want to tell Mark about them and have him worry about her. I was frustrated that she didn't want to tell him about it, but I totally understand, because when you're in a long distance relationship and don't see the other person very often, you want to focus on the positive rather than the negative.

I think Middleton did a really good job of showing the negative side of fame, especially how it affects those closest to the famous person. I don't know if I'd ever read a book like this, usually it's how fame is great, and a little bit of a nuisance, but nothing that felt as authentic as this.

Halfway through the book my heart broke, and I was surprised at the direction the book took. I think it's definitely more mature than the first novel. I don't want to give anything away, but I literally had to skim parts of the book because I was so anxious to find out what would happen next (I'll probably reread this soon so I can go back and spend more time on the parts I skimmed).

I loved so many part of the book, but my absolutely favorite is when both Alex and Mark talk about seeing counselors! I was so happy to read about this, and see counseling being talked about in a book. Counseling is my fave (obvi, I'm studying it), and I love that it was written into the story and talked about in detail. I was especially excited when Alex's therapist was talking to her about the counseling process and talked about a specific counseling theory.

I really enjoyed London, Can You Wait? I can't wait to see what Jacqueline Middleton writes next!

I must admit, this book would have been better for me if I read the first one. I was a little lost and not as invested as I should have been had I read the other book. But, I didn't know this was a second book until AFTER I stated to read it.... so I blame myself!

I devoured this book! I even liked it more than the first one, London Belongs To Me. Once I started it, I couldn't stop reading so I finished it in one day. I was enthralled with the drama and Alex and Mark's relationship. I just had to know what happened. I also loved the relationships between all of the characters. I was on an emotional rollercoaster the whole time. It was so good from start to finish.

Excellent contemporary international thespian romance. Alex moved from the States to London in order to pick herself up and start over after a bad breakup. She was hesitant to trust when she first met Mark who is Irish and working to become an actor. They tell deeply in love. Mark started getting better and more roles but was often away for long periods of time. It took a great tool in their relationship and they lost the honesty they once had. Their circle of friends were unique and mostly loyal. Troubles added up and suddenly love wasn't enough to hold them together. I received a complementary copy via Netgalley and chose to write a review. Ms. Middleton did an excellent job developing the complex characters as well as the enjoyable scenes.

A great story about love and how to get it all to work between two people. There is a lot of confusion which would have been a lot less if they had communicated a bit better. I like this story a lot. There is passion and love. The chemistry is great. A bit steam but a sweet romance. It is fun, dramatic, emotional and captivating.
The characters feels real and they are likeable. A well balanced book with an amazing story. You will get a lot more out of the story if you read London belongs to me first.

I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review

Lies and secrets, untold stories, unmention loves. There is so much confusion between these two all in the name of love. These two are clearly in love but when Mark puts everything he has into his career Alex is feeling left out and forgotten. This author writes a brilliant story but not of love lost, but of a love worth fighting for, and truths unveiled. Great emotional clean read that touches the heart. I haven't had the pleasure of reading this author's work until now and I look forward to much more of her standalone reads..
