This is a great book about cybersafety and digital citizenship. I have an almost 9 year old who is clamoring for digital access and since she is on the sensitive side, I was happy to have materials to give her to educate her.

Wonderful way to address sybersafety. The characters are likeable and the story interesting. Well done!

The book has the right theme, and seemed like a good idea. But the layout really ruined it for me. Even though there is a lot of good advice in it about what you should and shouldn't do online-- it was hard to read! The text was strange sizes when I got to the end of the book (too small), and there were at most six words pre line, in very thin columns (about two of the right hand columns were always empty). It seemed very disconnected because I could read half a paragraph and then have to page to the next screen for another short half-paragraph of text. The graphics were often on a separate page from the text, with lots of white space. I think i fhey reformatted it to be readable this book could be a nice small handy guide for parents to review with their children.

Interesting book about internet safety and etiquette. Glossary at the end is very useful. Good illustrations.

This is a cute cybersafety chapter book for kids to read with an adult and foster discussion about the internet, sharing personal information, the difference between the actual world and the virtual one, and bullying. Unfortunately there isn't much story for the child to be interested in and engaged with Casey or Aon. The glossary provides basic and clear definitions including Asimov's Laws of Robotics. There are also activities and discussion points for each chapter.

I believe it would be a good option to help foster discussion with children to help them understand their cybersecurity needs when used with other more engaging materials.

Casey and Aon have an important message for kids about internet safety and internet etiquette that is presented in a fun and informative way. There's also a glossary of terms at the back of the book that will be helpful. This book can bring about great discussion between parents and kids. I especially found thought-provoking how Casey tried to explain cyber bullying and why and how it can possibly be more painful to other kids because the audience is so much bigger.

Thank you to Amanda Greenslade, the publisher, and Netgalley, for the opportunity to read this book.

Young geek gets a new robot that he has to train. The robot doesn’t know much yet, wondering what’s in the ketchup tube, for instance. But at least he cleans up his messes, even if he doesn’t know what a reflection is.
Once on the tablet the curious robot wants to check everything internet-y, with the kid stopping him and explaining why he shouldn’t, which is the gist of this book. The kid speaks well above his age, and some of his words will probably need explaining to the young readers, but the book does impart a good dose of caution that even a few adults could find of value.
Huge chunk at the end dedicated to glossary, discussion points, and so on.
3.5 pushed up to 4/5

Casey and Aon - A Cybersafety Chapter Book For Kids is a book about a boy teaching his family robot about safety on the internet for children.
The book contains many good rules and advice and I very much like "Judgement 1.0".
The book would work well as a tool for discussing cybersafety with your kids. As a story I don't think it works as well though.
