This is Book 1 in the Honor Bound series. What a great story. It starts out with Garrett thinking he had died and gone to Heaven. He had to be in Heaven because he was making love to Sage. Since she had died, a dream was the only place he could still be with her. His life was nothing without her in it. And his team was worried about how he’s trying to get himself killed with every mission.
Now they are on a mission to stop the newest trend of American girls being bought and sold to American men looking for a good time in East Asia. The team is going to be getting a big surprise when they get to the site of where the auction is going down. Sage wasn’t dead. She had been kidnapped when she was was heading to Myanmar as an American aid worker. What happens next is a fantastic story of how the two of them work together to get their lives back. You get suspense, heart ache, love and adventure all in one book. How can you resist that? This was such a good book and I can’t wait to read the next book in the Honor Bound series. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book that I received from Net Galley

Very much enjoyed this story. Fast paced and well developed characters. The story kept me interested and I was invested in the lives of the characters. Would recommend!

This book had potential and the first few sections of the book actually had me pulled in and interested. But then it lost me and I stopped reading the book entirely. This book deals with a heavy, heavy story line but I feel like the author didn't do her in researching the psychological impact of being kidnapped, tortured and sexually abused. Why else would the author have the main character jump right into bed with her former lover without even seeking medical attention???

Sorry you lost me.

3 1/2 Star Review......

The first of a brand new series, SAVED is an intense, emotional and sometimes brutal read that touches on subject matter not for the faint of heart. Ms Payne always delves into the deep end of the pond and this story is no less powerful than some of her previous novels and storylines.

A great support cast definitely helped to make this an engrossing read, but at times the primary characters were confusing, and hard to love. Overall a decent read, and of course as an avid fan of this author, I’ll be looking for book two as soon as it’s available.

This is my first book from Angel Payne and I really like it.
It's dark and intense and packed with emotions. I can't put it down from the first chapter.
I'm on edge wondering what happen next.
This is the story about two people survived from terrible incident and trying to move on.
I feel the angst, the frustration, the hurts, the heartbreaking, and flinched with those crazy dark stuff, this book absolutely not for a weak heart.
Even though there's some unsuitable moments that a bit weird for me, I still enjoying it nonetheless.

As for characters. I like Garret and Sage, I can feel their passion, they're so intense and the sexual tensions is superb. And I can feel how deep their love since the beginning.
Although there's moment that I question why they did what they did (you need to read it to found out), I still love this couple

If you love dark romance packed with emotions, this book is definitely for you.

This was an absolutely wonderful read. Heartwarming and at times heartbreaking. Garrett is a hero and is a shell of himself because he believes that he lost the love of his life Sage in a kidnapping and murder. Then he finds out that she is being held. Can they work together there what they both have been through and believe in each other. Angel Payne has written a great read that you cannot put down

This is my second read of Angel's books and I cant get enough of her writing. In Saved the first book of the Honor Bound Series, Angel introduces us to the world of a Special Forces group. The first Alpha of this series is Garrett Hawkins a true Red/white/blue alpha who has a secret one that his afraid to let out. After the lost of his fiancée almost a year ago Sage, Garrett is having a hard time letting go and letting people in... basically the job is his life. But during one rescue all that might change hopefully for the best. This book is thriller, hot, and emotional with a bit of action and love. I loved how Angel did this book through 2 peoples views never leaving a thing out for us reads. I hope ya'll will all enjoy this book as much as me. And I can't wait to read the next book and the rest of this series.
*This is my honest review about this book which I was giving early by netgalley and Waterhouse Press. Thank you Netgalley, Angel Payne, and WaterHouse Press for the opportunity of reading this. *

Garrett lost the love of his life and therefore is willing to risk his own on special missions. When his unit is called to rescue a group of kidnapped aid workers he is stunned to find Safe alive. Can he be the man he was before she was kidnapped or will Sage lean to love the new Garrett? This is a fast paced read with plenty of drama and emotion. The characters have great chemistry and the story held my interest. I really liked it!

This is the first book of the Honor Band series and this is how you start off a new series. Wow. I absolutely love military romances. This author made me fall in love with this genre even more now. I could not put this book down. I was glued to my Kindle all night long. It only took me a few hours to devour this epic love story.

Garrett had the love of his life until one day a phone call shattered it all. He finds out that his Sage was killed in a mission and his heart is broken. A year passes and he still mourns her death. Garrett can’t get over her and get on with his life. He has a good friend he considers his brother, Zeke. His friend even tries to help him move on but he just can’t. Garrett craves violence to lessen his pain. He is told that he is going on a very important mission and he can’t mess it up. Garrett and Zeke are on a rescue mission. They are to rescue some American woman that have been held as prisoners for a year. All of a sudden he can’t believe his eyes Sage is one of the women he rescues. Garrett knew deep down that she was still alive, but now what? He quickly realizes that Sage is not the same woman he used to know. Garrett wants to help her but he also has been hiding a secret too. Can Garrett keep her safe or will he put her back into danger?

This story is a beautiful masterpiece. The storyline has it all romance, suspense, and forgiveness. You will fall in love with all of the characters. Sage is very strong and brave. She wants to be loved by Garrett no matter how dark he can be. Garrett is a beautiful soldier that will do anything for the woman he loves. He is a true hero in my eyes. These characters will make you believe in soulmates. Garrett and Sage have some steamy scenes that will make your toes curl. My favorite part is that this talented author wrote this book in both characters points of views. This gives you more of a personal connection to the characters. I can’t wait to read the next book in this new and incredible series.

I was introduced to Angel Payne through the Misadventures series. Her story Misadventures with a Super Hero was so exciting, erotic and my my favorite of the series. It made me an instant fan. So when I saw the she a new series started, I jumped at the chance to read more of her work.

Saved was a great read. In this story you get the military, hero with elements of BDSM which is a genre that I absolutely LOVE.

Garrett was a soldier through and through and having lost the love of his life, he’s become the go-to mission man. So much of his core self changed over the year since the loss, but when Sage is brought back into his life...he’s lost for a whole slew of new reasons. His heart is ecstatic that she’s back, but his dark desires that awoke while she was gone have now cause a deep conflict within himself. His Idaho, good-boy upbringing is a war with the dominant self he’s kept locked away for most of his life.

With Sage, she’s harbored submissive desires for years now and being captive did not sway the need for being bound, claimed and taken by the man she loves. And when she sees the change in Garrett after her return, hope fills her with the change that could take place in the bedroom, but she also sees the fear in Garrett’s eyes and his conflict.

With Garrett’s misunderstanding of what the lifestyle entails, he can’t see the good it could do to help him center himself as well as help Sage with her healing process. There’s quite a bit of inner struggles for both characters as well as struggles for their relationship as they work through their issues while still protecting Sage and keeping her safe.

This book was sexy, a bit suspenseful and kept me intrigued from start to finish. I look forward to reading more from Angel Payne.

Very sexy and exhilarating story about self-discovery. The dynamics between Sage and Garrett shifts with each discovery and it is satisfying to see their relationship grow and constantly be re-defined.

Garrett Hawkins is a special forces operative who has been struggling to survive the last year after losing his fiancee Sage Weston. Sage was presumed dead after her vehicle was blown up and no bodies were found. After losing Sage, Garrett doesn't really care if he lives or dies and continues to go on dangerous mission after mission.

Garrett's current mission in Thailand is to break up a sex slavery ring of captured American females. The mission is a success and gives Garrett the shock of his life when he finds Sage and her friend Rayna among the captured females. Garrett and Sage are reunited but Garrett has changed in the last year and is afraid that the changes will hurt Sage. Garrett's dominate side came out during the last year and he really doesn't want to accept that he can be like that. Most of the members of his special ops team are dominates but a traumatic event when Garrett was young makes him feel that this is not an acceptable lifestyle. Sage actually likes the changes but can't convince Garrett that she wants to try it.

Once they are back in the States, Sage and Garrett tries to adjust to the new individuals that they have become in the last year when Sage was presumed dead. They must decide if their relationship can survive the changes while the danger that Sage was in continues to follow her but Garrett is keeping that information from her to protect her. Also Sage needs to convince Garrett that she is interested and wants to try the dominate/submissive lifestyle. Sage works to find out why Garrett is so resistant to this new side of him and tries to make him understand that it is not a bad thing.

I really enjoy this book. The characters are strong, both male and female, and I can't wait to read more about the other characters in this new series.

Oh my! This has so much heart and soul wrapped up in the pages it can hardly contain it! Sage and Rayna were kidnapped and considered dead a year ago. Garrett Hawkins, with the Special Forces unit, is being sent in on a mission to rescue aid workers who were kidnapped. A year after his fiance has been killed he is barely hanging on and lives for any mission but this one is cutting it close to the bone. Especially when one of the prisoners they rescue is his fiance. Getting Sage back is just the beginning, now they need to learn to live together again. Garrett has changed in the last year. His dominant side has come full force and he does not know how to deal with it. It is going to take everything and all the love they have for each other to save each other again and again...especially since the danger is still present even though they have returned home. This story grips you from page one and keeps rolling and picking up pace until I couldn't put it down. I definitely recommend this one and glad to see it appears to be the start of a series!

Definitely recommend this one!

Hella hot ending.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This book is just full emotion and anticipation. I don’t know how this author could write with so much angst and despair. The build up of the story was almost too hard to take sometimes. I has to take a breather just to continue on.in parts.
The deep love and connection between the two main characters was definitely something to behold. The story and plot was unique and unexpected. The intense heat and high sexual anticipation was felt through the pages and the ending made the rest of the story worth suffering through.
My only complaint is that there was almost too much tension with no relief until 3/4 of the way through the book or so. Only a few parts are very heavy on the BDSM and there is loads of suspense as the story twisted and turned through the painful plot. But a beautiful ending made it worthwhile.
The author is a true wordsmith and crafts amazing characters that you are completely drawn to.
Saved by Angel Payne is the First book in the "Honor Bound" series. This is the story of Garrett Hawkins and Sage Weston. Garrett thought he had lost the women he loved and became a dark person. But with his lack of wanting to live he became a very important part of the Special Forces unit. On one of these jobs he was to save some kidnapped aid workers and found one to be Sage. But Garrett feels that he has become so dark that he might be too much for Sage. Sage as only thought of Garrett since being missing and wants him anyway she can get him....she just loves him. This does have some trigger type story lines so please use caution if you aren't a fan of those.
Angel Payne is a relatively new author to me so when I saw she had a new series coming out it was the perfect opportunity to start at the beginning rather than playing catch up. The plot and the characters intrigued me and this book didn’t disappoint what a great start to a new series. Garrett and Sage both have demons and both are tested to their limits in Saved, I was captivated from the first chapter, I loved all of the characters and what can I say about the love and passion Garrett and Sage shared about from it was hot. Looking forward to the next in the series
