This book reveals so many relevant myths we here in the world today. I know I’ve said many of these myself at some point or another. The truths she has laid out, with biblical advice to back them up, is wonderful to help you combat the lies and get back to a biblical worldview. Many of the lies I’ve told myself and much of the others I’ve also heard other people say before. Now I know how I should be responding to those comments. This is a fabulous and helpful book I know I’ll be going back to often! I wasn’t to keen on the diary entries by eve, they seemed too fabricated and made up to me and I don’t think they added much to the story, but the main content of this book was amazing!

The author briefly addresses about 50 specific lies women believe. She has arranged them into categories for easier reading and retention. The last two chapters offer an in depth teaching about how to replace a lie with the truth found in the Word. This book is easy to read and understand. I would like to have it include discussion questions for use with small groups.

Although I found some chapters in this book enlightening and interesting, there were other areas I wasn't quite onboard with. Somehow I got the impression from this book that birth control in marriage is somehow 'wrong', or perhaps it could be a misinterpretation on my part.

Nevertheless it was an enjoyable book with really enlightening topics!

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This is an updated edition of Lies Women Believe, which includes an additional chapter that covers sexuality, written with Dannah Gresh.

In some parts, I found myself nodding as I read Nancy Demoss Wolgemuth's words of wisdom. In other parts, I wished for more thorough coverage of the difficult issues surrounding a topic (passive husbands, birth control, depression). Not every chapter will resonate with every reader, but readers will probably want to revisit different chapters at different seasons in their lives.

No book as broad as this will be completely thorough or hit the mark on every point, but each chapter ends with a list of scripture references. The scripture itself will counter lies, which gives the balance, insight and encouragement we need. It makes for good reference material.

I would recommend this book as an encouraging reminder to mature Christian women, and a challenging, yet loving word of truth for all women.

I read an electronic version provided by Moody Publishers through Netgalley.

Wow, what an insightful book, perfect for individual study or group discussion. The author's examinination of 45 lies that people believe is eye opening, starting with the deception that began in the Garden of Eden by a cunning adversary, and how they can affect our thinking, and consequently our behavior. The vignettes with Eve and her perception of events were interesting. The need to study the truth of the Bible is so very clear too.

This is a book I will continue to want to read for years to come, and recommend to friends. It is a real hope booster! Recommend for any believer who desires a closer walk with God, and to improve relationships with others.

Not really my cup of tea, I don't know why I choose books like this, but there are some good points throughout. I especially liked the concept of guarding your eyes and ears especially with all the nonsense being spoken, tweeted, every day.
