When I first saw this book I wasn't sure, I book written from the dog's point of view and a Dachshund's point of view at that, hmmm how wrong could I have been. The author, Kathleen Chamberlin, captures the spirit and character of doxies totally. Showing how it is their home and life and we should be honoured to be allowed to share it with them. Marcy's disdain for the visitor is clearly felt and when the story takes a twist the reader eagerly follows Marcy, cheering on the family and generally revelling in the feeling of euphoria by the end.
A real, feel-good book for dog or pet owners, but a true treasure for anyone who has ever spent time with a doxie. I love it.

This is the second book in this series. I have not read the other book, but this one is a solid stand-alone, so do not worry if you have not red the other book.

This is the story of the Anthony household, of which Marcy Mary is an esteemed member. In fact, in Marcy Mary’s opinion, she manages and runs the family, keeping everything going smoothly among the two-legged and four-legged family members. The family is quite taken with this two-year-old dachshund. In this book, the family must contend with the autocratic Aunt Bertha, who literally throws the family life into chaos. In Marcy Mary’s point of view (the story is told from her point of view), things may never be the same. In this story, this little dog takes the reader on a wild ride through a small segment of the Anthony’s family life, from one exhilarating event/occurrence to another, while giving her ideas on what is happening and its effect.

The book is an okay read. However, it falls a bit flat. There is not much exactment here. The author did attempt to put some events/occurrences in that were exciting, but they never did seem to excite me as much as intended. I love dogs, which is why I requested this one from NetGalley. The book is rather short, as books go, and reads well. It will just never be on of my favorites. If you love dogs or reading about dogs, try this one. I am sure you will find it enjoyable and a good, easy, quick read. I received this from NetGalley to read and review.

I loved this book! This is book two and I did purchase and read book one first, not necessary but I think helpful as it introduces many of the characters in-depth. Princess Marcy Mary, the beautiful red, smooth dachshund, is back with more adventures. She is commonly called Marcy Mary or simply Marcy. The story is told from Marcy's point of view and is laugh out loud funny at times and very serious at other times. She tells about her life with her family and animal friends. Some of her animal friends are wild and some are neighborhood family pets. Marcy, her family and all. of her friends pray regularly for help and for healing for humans and other animals in need. I recommend this book and believe it will be a great gift for all dog lovers. Geared toward young adult audience; it will appeal to all ages.
