Valuable personal experience of the author on recapitulation
I am interested in modalities of energy healing for years and I believe that ancestral cultures have been guardians of very valuable knowledge for humanity that we can apply in these times. In this book the author shares his experience in the application of the recapitulation technique of the Toltec traditions of Mesoamerica, yoga practices to support his process and also offers some Jungian conceptualizations about archetypes.

Mesoamerican traditions developed a deep awareness, not only of the mental fields but also of the energetic and the spiritual (transcendental), they also understood the responsibility of our psycho-energetic interconnection in all our relationships and interactions with the world. With these techniques, the shamans seek to recover their own energy to live in a more empowered state of consciousness, mainly of the most disharmonizing interactions as occurs in traumatic events, especially if they have a lot of emotional and / or violent load. The wise within these traditions observed that these types of events break our fabric of auric light and generate energy cords with the people involved until we heal them.

What I consider valuable in this book is the personal experience that the author offers us and his extensive personal interior work. Although there are no detailed descriptions of the technique either in the bibliography or this book, what is found here is valuable considering that there are few references about this recapitulation technique, since indigenous traditions wisdom has been protected by Shamans and Grandparents Guardians of Knowledge by oral transmission. This knowledge is almost inaccessible to people who do not belong to these indigenous communities and are poorly understood among those who did not acquire cosmogony within the cultural framework.

It is an attractive book for those interested in recapitulation, in taking responsibility and energetically cleaning their relationships with this ancestral technique, or willing to examine the application of the technique for personal purposes, such as healing, mainly in the areas of abuse, addiction and trauma, since the author offers many anecdotes around this.

My sincere appreciation to the Publisher and NetGalley for allowing me to review the book

Thank you Netgalley for an ARC of this book.

This book provided lots of information and anecdotes but I was hoping for a little better balance between information and exercises. This Is a good book if you want purely information.

This is a useful book for anyone interested in energy healing. I would have appreciated more guidance and detail in the exercises outlined however. I think I will have to read it again to get fuller value.
My thanks to NetGalley for providing me with an arc in exchange for my honest review.

I'm all into energey healing and this book was very useful to me. It's very easy to follow and explain s everything in such an easy manor that even beginners can keep up with it.

I do believe in the authors concept, however, there’s just WAY TOO MUCH TALK about why this will work and the authors beliefs. I think this book needs to be outlined with the exercises. If we want all the background....again and again...we can read about it or look it up.

I received this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. This book was not for me. I got a creepy feeling reading it even though I went in with an open mind & energy/psychic work is nothing new to me. I think a lot of it stems from the fact that the author comes across as a pompous know it all and not humble in the face of his craft. Another big red flag was he constantly cites Carlos Castaneda; who was a huge influence on James Arthur Ray, the man who caused the horrific sweat lodge deaths in 2009. That's not the kind of influence I want to be learning about energy healing from. His methods in the book seem more rooted in ego than believing in something beyond yourself. All in all, I stopped reading about half way through. This one just rubbed me the wrong way.

A GUIDE TO ENERGETIC HEALING is a little woo-woo, but if you are contemplating reading it, it means that you probably enjoy a little woo-woo. As well as providing a very interesting interpretation of how we are all connected, Nelson give really good information about how to ground yourself and move past traumic experie4nces that a preventing you for being your best self. Fans of Rieke and Qigong will particularly enjoy this book.

I was really looking forward to reading this book but ended up a little disappointed. Energy healing and in particular trauma are both subjects of interest to me but I found this book didn't add anything new and was not of help to me.
