A new Caillou adventure-this time, we learn about maple syrup transformation process and toffee. Very cute, recommended for fans of Caillou.

My sister owns a maple syrup business so I was curious what this book would be about. I think it’s a great introduction to maple sugaring although doesn’t go into great detail about how it’s actually made. But I haven’t seen many books on this topic so I’m glad it was done.

What more can I say about the awesome Caillou. If you have a child grab his books! Your child will love you for it.

Caillou at the Sugar Shack, by Carine Laforest and Mario Allard is a children's book, which is adapted from the animated series.

Within twenty-four pages, this book focuses on Caillou and the family, as they visit a ranch to learn about the maple syrup transformation process. Plus, it features bright color illustrations.

Caillou at the Sugar Shack is geared toward young children, specifically ages three to six.

Note: I received this book from NetGalley, which is a program designed for bloggers to write book reviews in exchange for books, yet the opinions expressed in this review are my own.

I opted to review this book on behalf of my little boy who loves Caillou. This book really held his attention and mine. The story was great, what I would expect to see in a Children's book. My little boys asks to read this book every night so yes, I would say it was a huge hit.

I was looking for something that would make me want to give Caillou another chance, but this was not it. The intended message was nice, but I could barely read the book in any format. This might work for readers a little above the beginner stage.

We love this book and recommend it. Caillou never disappoints. We learned and had fun too. Now, we want to try a sugar treat like in the book and visit our own sugar shack in the area.

Thank you Netgalley and Chouette Publishing for this digital copy in exchange for an honest review.

Caillou and his family are visiting a family friend and are treated to a nice surprise from a tree! I'm surprised that I actually learned a neat fact from a children's book. I had no idea that sap did not already come out of a maple tree already in its delicious form. There are a few steps that have to be taken and this book goes into a simple enough detail on how its made. This story is the perfect length for young readers and is a fun and quick read.

Caillou at the Sugar Shack is a ‘TV tie-in book’ from the episode by the same title. This is a cute and informative read for little ones to learn about all the treats that are made from maple trees. I read this to my four year old daughter who enjoyed the storyline and stayed engaged throughout. Once we were done reading the book we looked up the episode and watched it together which made my daughter enjoy the book even more. The pictures are bright and colorful which depict scenes from the TV show and make the story easy to follow.

Choosing this book was a no-brainer for me ... my 8 year old son has loved watching Caillou since he was a baby, and we have many Caillou books at home. He's always excited to read a new Caillou book! Caillou at the sugar shack doesn't disappoint. The story is fun and interesting, and the pictures are colorful and cheery as you expect Caillou visuals to be. This is a great addition to our Caillou library!

This is the first Caillou book I’ve read and I really liked it. It was neat how it explained about making maple syrup but still kept the book light and fun.

Caillou and his family take a trip to the maple fields and learn about how the sap is collected and how to make delicious toffee out of it. Bright and colourful illustrations. Thanks to netgalley and the publisher

For Caillou fans. The family goes on a winter excursion in the snow to a "sugar shack," where sap from maple trees is refined and heated. This a very short story about maple sap, how it comes from trees and the sweet goodies it turns into.

This is a very cute Caillou book about harvesting maple sap. It offers a basic explanation of how the sap comes from the tree and is made into syrup and other treats. The colorful illustrations will enhance the story's appeal. This is sure to be a hit with young Caillou fans.

I think “Caillou and the Sugar Shack” is great for teaching children about maple syrup, but it lacked a strong conclusion.

Everything you want to know, as a child or a grown up too, about mapple sap, in just a couple of words, some colourful illustration and a nicely told children story. Strongly recommended to anyone in love with maple syrup, keen to learn a very fast and funny recipe of how to prepare maple toffee - especially when it is snow, many snow around. A lovely read for curious little children.
