I opted to review this book on behalf of my little boy who loves Caillou. This book really held his attention and mine. The story was great, what I would expect to see in a Children's book. My little boys asks to read this book every night so yes, I would say it was a huge hit.

We love this book and recommend it. Caillou never disappoints. We learned and had fun too. Now, we want to try a sugar treat like in the book and visit our own sugar shack in the area.

Caillou and his family are visiting a family friend and are treated to a nice surprise from a tree! I'm surprised that I actually learned a neat fact from a children's book. I had no idea that sap did not already come out of a maple tree already in its delicious form. There are a few steps that have to be taken and this book goes into a simple enough detail on how its made. This story is the perfect length for young readers and is a fun and quick read.

Caillou at the Sugar Shack is a ‘TV tie-in book’ from the episode by the same title. This is a cute and informative read for little ones to learn about all the treats that are made from maple trees. I read this to my four year old daughter who enjoyed the storyline and stayed engaged throughout. Once we were done reading the book we looked up the episode and watched it together which made my daughter enjoy the book even more. The pictures are bright and colorful which depict scenes from the TV show and make the story easy to follow.

Choosing this book was a no-brainer for me ... my 8 year old son has loved watching Caillou since he was a baby, and we have many Caillou books at home. He's always excited to read a new Caillou book! Caillou at the sugar shack doesn't disappoint. The story is fun and interesting, and the pictures are colorful and cheery as you expect Caillou visuals to be. This is a great addition to our Caillou library!

This is a very cute Caillou book about harvesting maple sap. It offers a basic explanation of how the sap comes from the tree and is made into syrup and other treats. The colorful illustrations will enhance the story's appeal. This is sure to be a hit with young Caillou fans.

Everything you want to know, as a child or a grown up too, about mapple sap, in just a couple of words, some colourful illustration and a nicely told children story. Strongly recommended to anyone in love with maple syrup, keen to learn a very fast and funny recipe of how to prepare maple toffee - especially when it is snow, many snow around. A lovely read for curious little children.

I really enjoyed reading Caillou at the Sugar Shack to my granddaughter. Her and I are both fans of Calliou. The story was cute and I really love the colors used in the illustrations. With Calliou you are always learning some kind of life lesson when you read or watch his show. This book teaches all about Maple sap and what you can make with it Like Maple sugar, maple sugar, maple candy and maple butter. It gives the process in a way for children to understand. Great read.

I was quite interested in this adventure of Caillou. Being from Ontario in Canada, there are many areas around me that produce maple syrup and I have made numerous trips to close by Maple syrup festivals.
This book explains the process with Caillou going to Jonas’ farm to watch how maple syrup and other maple products are made. This book is said to be for ages 3 and up, I think it’s a little advanced for that age and that there are some words that would need to be explained to a child even slightly older.
Nonetheless, this book is a fun learning tool.

Adorable children's book with both artwork! It's delightfully Canadian and everyone will be wanting maple candy after reading. This would be great for a lesson and snack at school.

Being a Canadian, I loved this book. Learning about the maple bush, and how sap from maple trees is used to make different things is one of the school trips I took my classes on in the winter. Caillou and his family take a trip and at the end get to try maple toffee. The book says ages 3 and up but I would gear it to ages 5 and up as some of the vocabulary may be difficult as well as following the process and maintaining attention might be hard for 3 year olds. The illustrations are large, bright and vibrant and add to the story. A great addition to a classroom, especially when learing about fall and winter.

If you want a fun read to cuddle up with a child or have a short read along, this book is perfect. Caillou gets a chance to go outside his element with his family visiting a ranch. But what's really exciting is learning about the maple trees and getting to sample the delicious maple sap. The book is perfect for young readers. Kids can even try reading for themselves. And for those experiencing winter, who doesn't like reading about travels and enjoying warm sugary treats?

This is a fun little book that teaches children about the sap from the maple tree and what it can be made in to. I would say that really the book needs to be aimed at children aimed 5-7 years plus as younger ones are not that likely to remain interested as the processes explained are a tad complicated for them. Nice bright images and easy to follow - even I learnt from the book!
