I found this to be an okay read. I couldn't connect with the protagonist and the plot was too messy. the romance also felt to insta-lovey, so that was a con of this book. thanks to NetGalley for sending me an arc for review- i appreciate it.

Very confused by this novel... the story did not deliver and I had a LOT of issues with the writing and the writing style. Also, it felt very tropey. Not much to say really which is a shame because I was really looking forward to reading it.

Sorry but I couldn't get into the book at all. I tried though, I'm so sorry for my ADD brain.

Princess Tails is about Vani who tries to hide her dark powers from people, but some can sense it. When she gets a present for her birthday a beast is awakened in her, a literal beast by the way and it’s name is Sukasa. Sukasa is a tsukatta, a beast that she thought only existed in stories and the story is about the struggles that Vani must face with Sukasa.

I feel like the premise of this story would have worked so well if it was implemented in the right way. However this was not the case the plot was very confusing and the writing good have been better.

2 out of 5 stars

Unfortunately I did not finish this book. The writing seemed all over the place and it was extremely hard to get into. The writing also seemed somewhat juvenile which I think made it harder to follow. I never really connected with any of the characters and felt like I was forcing myself to continue the book when it just wasn't enjoyable for me.

Very confusing to follow and the world building lacked enough to get a good grasp on. However, interesting premise and descriptions were beautiful.

I had high hopes for this book from reading the blurb. The story line sounded good and kind of original, it tempted me and pulled me in. Unfortunately the whole book did not live up to this expectation. Amongst all the spelling errors and grammatical mistakes that flooded the book (I gave up highlighting these by chapter 5) is what appears to be a rush and very confusing story. I had to keep going back to see if I had missed something.

The characters seem a little underdeveloped and there just seemed too much happening far too quickly. The plot is good, no doubt about that, it could have been an amazing book, but there were too many let downs. I have never said this when reviewing a book, but I would recommend avoiding this book. Maybe there is someone out there who can make sense of it all, unfortunately I couldn't and did not enjoy the 7ish hours that it took me to read.

I received a copy of Princess Tails by S.L. Haldi from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I was intrigued by the summary and really wanted to like this novel, but the storyline could have been pulled together better and the characters developed better.

I received an ARC copy from netgalley for my honest review,  so thank you netgalley and publishers for offering me this book! ♡
This is a story is about Vani Mikudai is anything but a normal teenage girl. A terrible power sleeps inside her, and though she tries to hide it, others can sense the dark energy. Before she can figure out what lies within, the ones who feel her power begin plotting to kill her.
When a mysterious book fully awakens her powers, she is transformed into a tsukatta, a monster she thought only existed in fairytales. Unable to control the spirit that resides in her body, Vani kills the first man to confront her.
Vani must either flee or embrace her newfound powers. But the book did more damage than she first realized, and when the danger escalates, she is forced to find a way to tame the beast inside her. Should she fail, the ones who hunt her will take away not only her life, but her brother’s as well.
This was my first book by this author, im a little conflicted on my feelings, it wasnt at all like i thought it would be. It was fast paced and just alltogether an easy read. For now I give this book a 3 star rating!
