Loved the colorful illustrations and rhyming text. A simple, east to understand explanation of how trees grow. And how they are also homes to Forrest animals. Great book!

I thought the pictures in this book were really pretty and I loved the way it told the story/life cycle of a tree growing from the time it is a seed, and especially that the leaves of the tree match close to what Oak tree leaves would be. I wish we had seen the acorn getting buried somehow since the book implies it starts to grow while on top of the land. I know for little kids it is cute, and as a Childrens associate I really liked the book but as an Environmental Education Specialist that part irked me just a little. Overall I really like the flow of this book though.

Lovely illustrations. The text was mostly good. I could've done without the spread about the man attempting to cut down the tree, as it felt a bit forced and heavy-handed, but overall it was an enjoyable read. This book is not just about trees but also plant life-cycles in general and the seasons.

A beautiful book with a beautiful message. I enjoy the way it is written and the color pictures that go with it. Some books are written to be read aloud and this is one of those. It works perfectly. It also teaches a little about the environment making it a multi-awesome book.

This is an adorably illustrated book about how a seed grows from a tree and the circle of life. The rhyming is catchy and nature sounds fun. I will be reading this to all the young children in my life. Highly recommend!

This is a very simple yet busy book about the life of a tree. It starts with an acorn that is in danger of being snatched up by birds or other animals. It survives and starts to grow in the spring, eventually becoming a large Oak tree. Along the way it shows the tree in various seasons and with interactions of animals and humans. The message to me is conservation, getting out in nature and learning about the seasons and their affect on trees. There is so much to see in each illustration that this book could take a long time to get through if you encourage conversation. The text is written in a rhyming form that has a singsong cadence to it. A great book for use in classrooms to teach about a variety of things.

This is a beautifully written and illustrated children's book about the life cycle if an oak tree. Although written in simple, flowing words which have a natural cadence there is too much to take in with just one reading. The art work is detailed and magnificent and truly reflects the heart of the forest. There is so much to look at and discover on every page, including the healthy interactions many people are having with nature. Take your time with this book and savour every page!

This is a look at the life cycle of a tree. The words are singsongy as suggested by the title. Its a nice book, but ehhhhhh. It’s not as bad as the David Catrow illustrated book about a tree dying, but it’s pretty up there.
