I really wanted to love this book. Maybe my hopes were up too high based on the synopsis. There were good parts to the story, but overall the premise wasn't executed in a way that pulled me in or made me feel anything for the characters. While I do understand that fiction doesn't have to be real, it does have to have attributes that make it somewhat believable. I didn't believe it.

This was incredibly interesting and I will be reading the next book. The only thing that I can say is that this is obviously the first book that this author has ever written. It is slightly stunted language and just kind of feels lacking in emotion at some really emotional times.

This book is thrilling, terrifying and full of science and medicine with a survival theme for YA. I wasn't sure if I was going to enjoy this book when I started it because it's written like a journal. Kaelyn, our MC, is writing letters to her friend Leo. It actually works really well and didn't take away any anticipation or suspense. Th characters are all very well rounded and the cliffhanger ending is perfect.

Kaelyn gets stuck on the island where she lives when it gets put in lockdown. There's a flu like virus outbreak and it's spreading so quickly that it's not long before it's at an epidemic level. Kaelyn has to go outside her comfort zone to befriend people who may be able to help, as a team, figure out what's killing off their neighbors and find a cure. The fear is very real and when symptoms first start popping up it started subconsciously making me wash my hands constantly. My fiancé asked if I was okay and I said yeah I'm just reading this creepy book about a virus.
I will be reading the next book in this series.

Thank you to NetGalley and Megan Crewe for giving me a copy of this book for a fair and honest review.

The Way we Fall by Megan Crewe was written like a journal kept by the main character, Kaelyn. It was long and detailed, but also there was no urgency so it felt anti-climatic. It was hard to stay interested and there were many things unresolved at the end, which is why it is a sequel I am sure.

I didn't feel a connection at all to Kaelyn. She seemed a shy girl, trying to come out of her shell. She was book smart, but sometimes her common sense was questionable. She was worried about why some people liked her because a situation had brought them together, but thats life...

I received this copy from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

There are definitely better novels out there that address the idea of surviving a supervirus. This one was a letdown for me, but will still appeal to kids who love books with those themes and have read everything else.

A great end of the world story, a smooth and interesting sort with great characters!

It have a pretty cool premise, but it sort of bored me to tears. At first I thought it is another teen romance story, but then its not. I felt intrigued at the first few chapters. I admit I do enjoyed it most of the time, but then just when I was hoping for a shocking conclusion — the story ended.

Not one of my favorite books so far. But then its worthwhile to read.

I have had this book on my TBR for a long time and finally got around to reading it thanks to Netgalley. I could not put it down. It was unusual, but I got used to the journal entry type writing pretty easily. Not only that but the plot was incredible and kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time. Some people say that the tone was off and Kaelyn wasn't emoting much, but I thought it was just perfect.

I will break it down like this: The ploy was great. I love survival type stories of any kind. The writing was also perfect. I was enthralled and even though I kept on saying, one more chapter, I kept reading more and more.

I cannot wait to get my hands on the next books.

This is my new favourite book! I loved every second of it! This book really did have everything! I thought it was impossible to fit deadly viruses, crime and romance into one novel, but here I am!
All the characters were perfect in their own flawed ways. Gav was my favourite character, misunderstood but truly kind at heart.

I honestly have no flaws for this book. All I can say is that I was practically jumping out of my seat at the good things and crying at the sad.
Thank you,net galley for letting me read this fantastic book.

I like how this book is written in journal style. Kaelyn writes to her best friend who disappeared from the island. Kaelyn’s journey keeps you on the edge of your seat. So many crazy, unexplained things are happening. There is a virus spreading throughout the island. Paranoia starts to set in. And you jump at every little noise you hear. You don’t know what real or not. Definitely a good read.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC copy of this book. My thoughts and opinions are my own.

It starts with an itch. Then a fever you can't get rid of and a tickle in the back of your throat. A few days later you tell all of your secrets to strangers. Then you're dead.

Sixteen year old Kaelyn never expected to never see her best friend again. A strange virus spread through her small island town like wildfire. The government quarantines the island.

Those still healthy fight for limited supplies. Kaelyn has to join forces with a former rival and discovers new love in the midst of heartbreak. As more family and friends are taken from her, she clings to the hope that there is a cure. But what if there isn't?

This was definitely a new take on dystopia. It doesn't focus on zombies like most others do. Also if you're looking for a huge amount of romance, this is not for you. This book felt incredibly realistic, so expect to be a little spooked reading it!
