I read this just because of the title and my well known obsession with my Lululemon collection, sadly I didn’t give a shit about any of these characters and it was an overall waste of time.

Having enjoyed The Devil Wears Prada years ago, it was a lot of fun to revisit these characters again and spend more time in the juicy world Weisberger is so good at creating.

I received this ARC from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review. This was. a perfect summer read! Full of scandal and drama with a little humor mixed in. For those wondering (I did too), you do not need to read the second book in the series to enjoy this story.

So much fun! This book was light and breezy with a sizzling story. I enjoyed getting into Emily's head and was rooting for her and her friends through the whole story. Fun to look behind the glamour in New York and Connecticut- who knew CT was so wild?

Definitely the fun beach read of the summer. It was so fun talking to Lauren about this book on The Secret Library podcast where we got to dish on the process of writing this book and how she gets inspired to write her books.

A very entertaining, juicy return of characters from The Devil Wears Prada. I really enjoyed this book, tackling scandals, deceit, motherhood, friendship and marriages with humor and spunk. A fun book for sure! Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for the e-reader copy. All opinions are my own.

I wasn't really sure if I needed to go back into one of my favorite worlds. The Devil Wears Prada has really become a classic. Catching up with Emily never occurred to me, but I had a bit of fun reading a book that made many summer to read lists. The world of smoke and mirrors (also known as image) is actually a great consulting gig for Emily. She pairs up with Karoline, whose slip was alcohol related. Toss in a lawyer who is now a stay at home and a peek with Miranda, it was a pretty fun beach read.

With the state of the world these days, lately, I find myself wanting to watch more Hallmark movies and read something lighter with a happy ending. This book was a fun read that fit the bill perfectly.

This book is a follow-up of the character Emily Charlton who was the assistant to Miranda Priestly in The Devil Wears Prada.  She is now living in Hollywood working as a highly successful image consultant, but lately, she has been losing customers to a younger player in town who is much more social media savvy than she is.

Emily goes to visit her close friend,  Miriam, who has left her high-powered job as an attorney to stay home with the children and moved to Greenwich Connecticut. There Emily meets another friend of Miriam's, Karolina, who is an ex-high fashion model and now married to a New York Senator planning to run for President.

One evening just as Karolina was leaving her house to take her son and his friends out, the police pull her over on her street, indicating they think she is driving under the influence.  They claim there are empty alcohol bottles in the back seat, and she ends up in jail for the night for a supposed DUI and in the headlines the next morning.  Needing a high profile client, Emily agrees to help Karolina.

T I loved the humor and the over-the-top situations they found themselves in. You'll fall in love with all three of the main characters.  It was nice to see how these three very different women ended up supporting and helping each other out, so all three came out better in the end.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. his book is full of the lifestyles of wealthy suburbanites with their perfect houses, lawns, clothes, looks, and always trying to out-do their friends and neighbors.  It is complete with outrageousness, hilarious situations, celebrity name-dropping, and designer labels.

Wow, I really enjoyed this book! Much more than expected for the third in a chick lit trilogy... not my usual cup of tea. The characters were likeable and relatable, the plot had just the right number of twists and turns, and aside from a few faux-pas with mixed up names and misspelled designers (probably due to my having an advanced copy), well-written. My only complaint would be that (spoiler alert) some of the plot lines weren’t entirely thought-through... for example how Karolyn’s was so concerned about Harry living through Graham’s not-so-little secret coming out, but then when it did she told him that she was happy as can be. Overall though, very enjoyable and hard-to-put-down read. Thanks for the opportunity!

Thank you to Simon & Schuster for providing me with a copy of Lauren Weisberger's novel, When Life Gives You Lululemons, in exchange for an honest review.

PLOT- Emily Charlton has left her job as Miranda Priestly's assistant and is making a name for herself in Hollywood, working as an image consultant. When she loses a few high-profile clients  to a much younger ( and trendier) competitor, Emily heads to the suburbs of Connecticut to take refuge in the home of her dearest friend, Miriam. Miriam's life as a suburban mom is completely different from Emily's fast-paced lifestyle. While in Connecticut, Emily gets a career lead, when Miriam's friend Karolina, a former super-model and wife to a Senator, becomes involved in a front-page scandal. Emily soon realizes that Karolina's situation may have a sinister side. Can Emily survive living in the suburbs, while she works to repair Karolina's tarnished reputation?

LIKE- Emily Charlton is one of the most entertaining characters in Weisberger's The Devil Wears Prada, and I was thrilled to see her as a main character in When Life Gives You Lululemons. This isn't a sequel, but a stand-alone book that you can definitely read without having read Prada, but fans will be excited for the return of both Charlton and the devil herself, Miranda Priestly.

When Life Gives You Lululemons has a solid cast of three strong female leads. I felt the most sympathy for Karolina, who faces severe judgement in the public eye for a crime that she didn't commit. The fact that she is both rich and beautiful, seems to give others the freedom to be hyper-critical and over look other aspects of her personality, like her intelligence and warm heart. Weisberger's novels often deal with themes of celebrity, serving to push-back against the way society both obsesses and criticizes those in the public eye. Karolina's situation is a sad one, made more so by the fact that her step-son, whom she adores and has raised for many years, is taken from her during the scandal.

Weisberger has a knack for clever titles. I enjoyed the fish-out-of-water scenario with Emily having to spend time in Greenwich, CT.. She may know how to handle Miranda Priestly, but suburban housewives are a new breed of high-maintenance women for her to master.

DISLIKE-  When Life Gives You Lululemons was an enjoyable read, it is not one that is very memorable. I finished it a few weeks ago and even as I am writing this review, I'm struggling to recall key plot points or even how it ended.

RECOMMEND- Yes. I recommend When Life Gives You Lululemons to fans of The Devil Wears Prada. It's also a solid pick for a beach read.

I can never quite remember if I read the OG Devil Wears Prada... but either way, this book's a delight. The dirty-underbelly-of-rich-people's-lives thing, mixed in with a pretty solid mystery makes for a thoroughly enjoyable read. Did it change my life? No. Did I have to check the description to quickly refresh which light-and-fun summer romp this was? Yes. Bonus points for the title, btw.

Love, love, love this funny and engaging story about three friends and the crazy dramas that fill their lives. It was so much fun to catch up with Emily and see how she's faring since her days at Runway magazine under Miranda Priestly - OMG!! This book was such a treat to read.

Thank you Netgalley for my review copy for an impartial review.

I have been slowly warming to the character of Emily all through the three books in this series and this book cemented my like of her, despite her harshness. This book gives you all the salaciousness of the suburbs and juicy gossip whilst dealing with women getting back on top, so to speak. Love a strong woman and this book gives you three. All the while there lots of laughs while they fight. Will recommend to all my friends.
(One note - do prefer the title of 'When life gives you lululemons' than 'The Wives')

Fun summer read with strong female characters. I loved the different plot lines. This book had me wondering ‘which woman is doing life best?’ But, part of the joy of this story is that there is ‘correct’ way to live your life.
This was really an enjoyable read and made a fun bookclub discussion.

When Life Gives You Lululemons by Lauren Weisberger is another book from the author of The Devil Wears Prada. I was really excited to pick up this book since I enjoyed The Devil Wears Prada so much. I found this book difficult to get through. The plot didn't move very well and the characters, while having problems, were frustrating to read. There was some crude language and scenes that I felt added nothing to the book as well. I received a digital copy of this book from the publisher with no obligations. These opinions are entirely my own.

This book was hilarious. A delightful summer read. Fun to see old characters back in action. Fans of The Devil Wears Prada will not be disappointed, and those who never read it, will not feel left out.

When Life Gives You Lululemonds by Lauren Weisberger is the third in a series of books that began with The Devil Wears Prada. I loved that book (who didn't?), but found the second one, Revenge Wears Prada, to be just a bit better than okay, so wasn’t sure what to expect in this one. Well, let me just say, this one had my attention from the first sassy page to the last. I kept looking for times to pick it up and read a few pages to find out what was going on in the zany lives of Emily, Miriam, and Karolina. When Life Gives You Lululemons is a fun read, perfect for times you want to get really into a story. Not because you are looking for something deep, more because you are looking to be entertained. From LA to NYC to Greenwich to Utah and then back to NYC for a couple of cameos by Miranda Priestly, you will be captivated with this engaging story.

When Life Gives You Lululemons by Lauren Weisberger, author of The Devil Wears Prada, is an easy reading, perfect for summer as it’s light angst accompanied by Lauren compelling writing style.

This story has Emily Charlton, Miranda Priestly´s first assistant from The Devil Wears Prada, as the main character along with Karolina Hartwell, a former supermodel, and Miriam Kagan, a successful attorney turned into a stay-at-home mom.

The story is set in Greenwich, Connecticut. Through Emily, Karolina and Miriam, we get to know part of the suburban Greenwich lifestyle, and how the suburbs influence these three thirty-something women and vice-versa.

When Life Gives You Lululemons isn’t up to The Devil Wears Prada, but it’s a fun reading if that’s what you are looking for. Also, it could be a thought-provoking story with topics as self-esteem, friendship, age, beauty, career roadblocks, motherhood, and how the environment influences our decisions if we allow it, not always for good.

When Life Gives You Lululemons is nice for a summer read, after reading a heavy angst story, or if you’re going through hard times and like to submerge in an easy-light angst story to relax.
