I can't even begin to explain how useful this book is for me! I'm so glad that I was approved for an ARC copy and it came as a gift in the right moment! Definitely a 5 🌟!

Thank you Heidi Schauster, Hummingbird Press and NetGalley for a complimentary ARC of this book in return for my honest opinion.

I initially requested this book based on the title and thinking that this book might give me some tips on nourishing food. I don’t have an eating disorder, but I am human and have often disordered eating as well as other vices! I am so glad that I was given the gift of reading this wonderful book. It wasn’t quite what I had expected in my haste to request it, but it was so much more.

This book really resonated with me. It made me admit how mindlessly I eat and gently, caringly gave ways to bring more mindfulness to how I can approach food in general. I have played with some of these methods over the last couple of days and am so happy that they work. For example I was at a party on the weekend, where the smell of garlic bread wafted in. It smelt very enticing but I wasn’t hungry. Instead I chose to smell the garlic amd hear the crunch of it being eaten by a friend. It sounds incredible but experiencing the smell and the sound of the Bread actually was enough to fulfil any desire I had to actually eating any. I have also mindfully nibbled on the afternoon chocolate biscuit, enjoying the whole experience rather than doing my mindless eating assault on a few in one sitting !!

Heidi writes with such a caring, nourishing manner. She leads the reader to the tougher questions of why they eat and suggests the reader beings gentleness and self compassion to the table, rather than judgement and self loathing.

I can not recommend this book highly enough, and whilst this book is written for people with issues around food and eating, I personally see it being a very worthwhile read to anyone who has habits they use to fill their void of lonliness, sadness or almost any other human struggle and to come to look at the reasons why with self compassion and love.

I have recommended this book to friends and wish this wonderful book to the best seller list.

This book is such a blessing. My daughter has anorexia and Heidi Schauster hit the spot with this.
In Nourish, the focus is on relationships with food rather than dieting. This focus works for everyone. Both overeaters and undereaters will find this book useful. Nourish is laid out into steps to help the reader change their mind and habits about eating and food in general. The steps are not meant to flow linearly. In fact, the first step is about body image and is meant to be visited repeatedly.
Nourish is sure to help with a host of eating problems. I plan to purchase this book and add it to my daughter's reading list for her therapy.
