Reading this Haven Point story is like coming home. I have really enjoyed all of them. This one is no different. I fell in love with Ruben, Dani, Silver and Mia. Dani came there to start over. She has gone through veterinary school and is ready to start being the best veterinarian she can be and a good mother too. Silver has been resisting the new home and has gotten herself into trouble. Ruben can remember when he was Silver's age and is trying to help her make some good decisions, besides, he really likes Silver and Mia. He really likes Dani too, but she doesn't seem to want any kind of relationship. So, he will just be her friend. Easier said than done. Dani feels like she has made more than her share of bad decisions, so she won't get involved with anyone. It wouldn't be fair to her daughters if she made another mistake. Can Ruben change her mind?

Season of Wonder is the 9th book in the Haven Point Series. Haven Point is such a nice, charming town to visit during the holidays. Always welcomes you with open arms. A can't miss read.

What a fantastic way to get me into the Christmas spirit!!! Season of Wonder is a cozy holiday read that packs a big emotional punch! From the beginning my heart went out to Dani Capelli and her daughters! Being a single mom isn’t easy, but Dani’s hoping that moving them across the country to take a job in Haven Point, Idaho could be just the change they desperately need. As the story unfolds, I absolutely loved what RaeAnne Thayne had in mind for Dani and her handsome and kind neighbor, Ruben, who also happens to the towns Deputy Sheriff! Ruben is an amazing friend to Dani as well as a fantastic role model to her girls, but can Dani let down her guard to let him into her heart!?!?
Ok, right off the bat I have to ask why the heck haven’t I read any of the previous installments in this series!?! The town is charming and the characters are incredibly endearing- I promise that I will definitely be reading the entire Haven Point series! That being said, I thoroughly enjoyed Season of Wonder! It was a great Christmas read, but it was so much more than that! Dani’s backstory tugged at my heartstrings and because of the I was keeping my fingers crossed she would find happiness! I highly encourage everyone read this 4.5 star novel! I am so excited to dive into the prior books in the Haven Point series!

This book had a quiet quality about it, slowly building page by page. Dani was a bit prickly, but when you learn her past it makes sense. I wished that Dani would have given Haven Point more a of a chance, she would have seen that most of the people there wouldn't care, they look to what is, not what happened.
Dani's girls were cute, Mia, so adorable, Silver, just started to be the surly teen. Silver seemed to be at the center of so much trouble, learning some hard lessons along the way.
Ruben seemed to be there every time Dani and the girls turned around. I liked how he never pushed, just let his actions show what kind of a man he was, which was how he quietly won Dani over.

There's nothing I like better than to be in Haven Point at Christmastime! This author can create stories and characters that put me in the time and place that make me feel like I'm right there in that town alongside these people, experiencing what they are! I feel like I know all of them - and I wish I did! In this book we have Dani, her two children and Deputy Reuben Morales as the main characters. I fell in love with Reuben. He's one of my favorite characters in the whole series! You don't have to read any of the other books to know what is happening in this book, it's a standalone, but all of the books in this series are great. I would love to live in Haven Point! Dani and her kids come from back east to Idaho to run the veterinary clinic in town from Reuben's father. Dani has a difficult past and she's risen above it. She doesn't want to start a relationship with a man during this busy time but she's drawn to Reuben. He's so kind and compassionate to her and her children. Silver and Mia were written so realistically, especially Silver who is a teenager and gets in all kinds of trouble. I wasn't particularly fond of Dani all the time through the book. She seemed a little too rude and standoffish most of the time but in the end, she changed. I know her background wasn't the best but I still felt she could have been nicer! I loved her young daughter, Mia, though and as I said, Reuben was awesome! The whole book is awesome for the holidays and I highly recommend it to anyone! It will put you in the Christmas spirit!
I received this book through Net Galley & the author but was not required to review it. These thoughts are my own.

RaeAnne Thayne is one of my favorite authors. Her books always leave me all mushy and happy and ready to jump into another one of her stories. She knows how to capture me with her writing and never leaves me unsatisfied. What more could I ask for?
Season Of Wonder was wonderful. Superb writing, great characters, some laughs and of course, it wouldn’t be a RaeAnne Thayne book if I didn’t get a little misty eyed.
Dani Capelli and her two daughters have recently moved to Haven Point.
Ruben Morales is a deputy sheriff and Dani’s next door neighbor.
These two haven’t had too much contact with each other, but when Dani’s oldest daughter Silver gets herself into trouble, Ruben, Dani and the kids work together to make things right.
I absolutely loved and adored Ruben. I thought he was a great hero. I’ll admit, I had a hard time warming up to Dani, but by the end of the story she had grown on me. Mia of course was freaking adorable.
I recommend this story for all fans of RaeAnne Thayne and anyone else who just wants to read a nice Christmas story.
Season Of Wonder is Book #9 in the Haven Point series and can be read as a standalone.
4.5 Stars

Dani and her two daughters move across country so Dani can take a veterinary internship. While Mia is pretty fine with the move, her older daughter, Silver wants to be with the friends that she left behind in Boston. Dani very much keeps herself to herself but circumstances force her to let her attractive neighbor into their lives. A pretty predictable story,, but a fun one, nonetheless.

This took a bit to get into but it was well worth reading on. Once it picked up, I couldn't wait to get to the end. Very enjoyable holiday story.

RaeAnne Thayne takes us back to Haven Point at Christmas time. Dani and her daughters are new in town. She’s the new veterinarian set to take over the ready-to-retire Dr. Morales’ practice. Older daughter Silver isn’t happy in a new place and school but younger daughter Mia loves the town and everyone she meets. When Silver acts out in a big way their neighbor becomes involved with the family.
Deputy Ruben Morales (son of Dr. Morales) is someone Dani wants to avoid. If she offends him it could jeopardize her future in Haven Point. The problem is, there’s a growing attraction and it’s not one-way. Ruben has made it a policy not to date women with children. He doesn’t know what to do when he realizes he actually enjoys Dani and her girls. This could go well or very, very wrong for everyone involved.
For good reason Dani has had trust issues her entire life. She wants to provide her daughters with a different life. Is that even possible without opening herself to the possibilities that present in Haven Point. She’s about to find out. Season of Wonder is a lovely novel about the good that can come from rising above challenges both big and small.

Although this is Book 9 in the Haven Point series, each book can be read as a stand-alone. But it's nice seeing some characters from previous books in this series too. It makes you feel like you know just about everyone in this small Idaho town of Haven Point.
Unlike many of RaeAnne Thayne's other books, this one took me awhile to really get into it. However, I must say that Deputy Ruben Morales made my heart go pitter-patter from the first moment he walked into the veterinary clinic. The chemistry between Ruben and Dani is instantaneous, but Dani's past keeps her at a distance and somewhat anti-social. It takes a bad choice made by Silver, Dani's teenage daughter, to bring Ruben and Dani together. My second favorite character was little Mia, Dani's youngest daughter, who could melt your heart in a flash.
Season of Wonder is a nice Christmas story. Between the tree trimming, the boat parade, and the twelve days of Christmas secret plan, this was a nice light read for the holidays.

We return to Haven Point and get to know the new town Vet, Dani Capelli and her two daughters, Silver and Mia. They live next door to Deputy Sheriff, Ruben Morales whose father, Frank gave Dani the job and a place for her and the girls to live. Ruben and Dani have an attraction right from the start but Dani has too many secrets and past hurts to let it go anywhere. When Silver gets in trouble Ruben steps up in a big way to help this family and soon Dani finds herself drawn to a man she never thought she could have or be worthy of.
I love going back to this little town to catch up on previous characters and meet new ones. This story is a wonderful tale of starting over, new beginnings, and learning to trust again. My heart hurt for Dani as she was struggling with such a sad past and was so afraid to let anyone in. Ruben was such a strong, caring man who went the extra mile for this family. This author has such a talent when writing about families who aren’t perfect but are strong and loving. This was such a sweet holiday read and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
I received an ARC from NetGalley for an honest review.

RaeAnne Thayne’s 2018 Christmas story lives up to all of the previous eight stories in the Haven Point series. You don’t need to have read the previous stories but some of those characters do make an appearance. Dani Capelli is a single mom of two daughters, one of whom is a moody thirteen -year -old. Dani gets to know her neighbor, the local deputy sheriff, Ruben Morales, when he brings her daughter home after catching her ”red handed” near his vandalized boat. Dani is hiding secrets about her past life that she fears will jeopardize the life she is trying to build along with her veterinary practice. Christmas can be a magical season and Reuben does his best to make it a memorable one for Dani and her daughters.

This is an excellent book and I highly recommend it. Dani has not had an easy life and is determined to make a better on for her Girls. Ruben grew up in a loving home, he doesn't understand why Dani wouldn't want to take a change on him. He is already half in love with her and her daughters. Can he convince her?
You will not want to miss the latest installment of the Haven point series.
Thank you Netgalley and Harlequin for allowing me to read this title for an honest review

Reading this book was purely decadent, I did not want it to end.
The characters captured my heart from Dani’s cute little dimpled daughter to the teenage one who was getting in trouble and had lots to teen drama and Ruban I can see him being the book boyfriend of all the single mothers that read this book, and then there’s Dani, who could not love her? With all the guilt and blame she feels for the terrible things her ex did after they were divorced and she hadn’t even seen him, she spends her life working and trying to raise her girls and give them the best life she can
This book has all that warm hearted small town feel I recommend you do not miss it.

I couldn’t put this one down! I’ve enjoyed other Haven Point stories, but this one really grabbed me. Maybe I connected with the children and pups, or maybe it’s just that I’m happy Ruben finally got his story. Either way, the characters are so real that you’ll root for them, especially when the going gets tough. Add in all of the traditions of Christmas and I’m sure you’ll enjoy this one, too!

As always RaeAnne Thayne never disappoints in her storytelling! I love how Dani is so strong in the way she raises her girls! And the story between Dani and Rueben is well .. wow! I love Christmas stories they are my favorite! Well done!! This is now one of my favorite Christmas books! I can see myself reading it every year!

Season of Wonder is a cute, cozy Christmas romance. I’m a sucker for holiday romances, both in book format and made-for-tv movies, because I love the holidays and have a strict preference for happy endings. That all being said, Christmas is more set dressing in this story rather than an important plot point. It could just have easily been set around some local festival or other event without much else changing in the story. Haven Point, the community Dani has recently relocated herself and her two daughters to, seems like a mostly lovely place to live. A few cantankerous individuals to be sure (avoiding spoilers, but boy do I loathe the Vice-Principal!), but overall it’s a happy, welcoming community. The story is the expected whirlwind of romance, revelations, and small problems that loom large, but that is why I chose to read this novel.
Dani obviously cares for her daughters, and while Silver has all the requisite angst of a teen uprooted from her home, it’s understandable. Dani’s younger daughter, Mia, is adorable and loveable in all her enthusiasm. Ruben Morales, the all around great guy and deputy sheriff is the hero of dreams: he also cares about Dani’s daughters, not just because he’s interested in their mother, and plays the part of the town’s golden boy. His father also happens to be the town vet, a retiring practitioner who wants to leave the practice in Dani’s capable hands at the end of the year. The novel ends up being a family-centric romance.
I may have expected a fast moving plot with a few gaping holes or moments that stretch my ability to suspend disbelief, but there were some moments that were too much for me. The “notorious way” Dani’s ex-husband became her late husband seemed almost anticlimactic, or at least the revelation was. Not that I can imagine a world where the information was something that Dani would tell people as soon as they were introduced, but as a closely guarded secret because you fear ostracism from the community, it didn’t really ring true for me. Nor did Silver’s final predicament and the resolution of the issue. As a reader, I was left asking “why” quite a bit for both episodes, and “why” is not a question I want to be asking in a cute cozy Christmas romance.
Final verdict: While I wouldn’t plan on a purchase, if I was planning a holiday romance marathon with a large mug of hot chocolate, it is a book I would at least consider borrowing from the library.
*Thanks to the publisher for providing an eARC via NetGalley.

As is always the case with Ms. Thayne’s books, Season of Wonder is an amazing read, especially for the holidays. It takes place in her Haven Point “world” but it is a standalone – I just love her books and enjoy knowing all the secondary and tertiary characters. What fun it was to get to know Dani Capelli and her daughters…and Ruben Morales and HIS family.
I won’t recap the details of the story because it would be a major spoiler however Dani struck all my feel-good and protective chords. She has had a hard life, fighting for everything she has ever wanted or had…but she has two amazing daughters who mean the world to her. Her teenager is going thru a tough time, having to adjust to a move from Boston and New York to Haven Point…and Silver is dealing with being the “odd” teenager out. Dani’s six-year-old, Mia, is absolutely adorable. Just a sweetie. Besides dealing with this move, Dani is also the new veterinarian in town, eventually taking over for Ol’ Doc Morales, who also happens to be Ruben’s father.
And Ruben. He is just enough of an alpha to know when to temper his interest and help with Dani – I think it comes from being a Deputy Sheriff/a part of law enforcement. He knows how to be there, but keep his interest under control…however the poor dude doesn’t have an easy time! He really likes Dani, doesn’t have a clue what is making her so skittish, and gets along so well with both Silver and Mia, especially Mia. Some of my favorite scenes were with him and Mia. A child often accepts life just the way it is and to have an adult NOT treat a kid like an idiot – but with kindness and humor and love – well, it doesn’t get any better than that.
Dani interacting with Ruben’s family is both hilarious and touching. She is truly lost in a world of ‘happy families’ but they just treat her like she is part of the fold. Ruben is always there for Dani and her girls…but she has to learn to open herself up to life and the kindness of others. Really wonderful story and will be a part of my holiday reading bookshelf for years to come. Loved it!

I really enjoyed "Season of Wonder" by Raeanne Thayne. The setting is a small town, a new veterinary doc with her two daughters and the deputy sheriff next door. I loved Dani Capelli with her two daughters, one a teenager the other a lot younger. There was just enough teenage angst and problems. The characters were so real I could picture them and there was enough plot with a sweet romance to keep me entertained and wanting more.
I appreciated the opportunity to read this book for free.

The 9th book in the Haven Point series is a wonderful holiday story about a vet and her daughter who move to Haven Point. While the girls are trying to fit in, Dani is trying to create a home for her girls and not let her past be found out. When Her daughter , Silver gets in trouble trying to befriend some girls , Dani ends up meeting and falling for Ruben who happens to be her boss’s son.
This book is a heartwarming story and the characters make you feel like you could be a part of their town and lives. Thank you Netgalley and HQN for the chance to read this.
