This Buzz Book: YA is incredible! It’s a great list and way to find out what you should be on the lookout for. Can’t wait to get some of these in full length.

There is a lot to look forward to in getting to see this buzz books catalog. Some of these I have no gotten the chance to read and others are rapidly approaching. The sampler is a great way to engage with us readers and I look forward to getting to get a peek at others in the future.

Buzz Books are always an awesome way to sample upcoming titles. I always look forward to the "buffet" of snippets to whet my appetite. It's a quick way to explore genres, styles, and authors I might not otherwise think to try! Thanks!

I only got this to read the part about Sadie, kept seeing reviews on my feed and was interested to see how it read. This really helps get you to add things to your TBR for sure.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for sending me a digital ARC of so many books. I really enjoy Buzz Books. I am very excited to read "The Gilded Wolves" by Roshani Chokshi. The bit that I read was very good and drew me in. I have already purchased "Shadow of the Fox by Juie Kagawa for the library. Some really wonderful fantasy and science fiction YA coming out in the next few months.

I love these books! I'm always finding new titles to read and I love reading the excepts! Such a great resource for readers and book professionals.

This book is an invaluable tool for Reading teachers who don't have enough time to read every book that comes out. You can read a synopsis or even small passage from new books and then look for the perfect student to match that book with. This book is also great for just finding books to read for yourself.

I discovered a few books that I will definitely be checking into because of this resource. I like being given a heads up on new and upcoming titles, it helps me make some of my reading decisions easier!

These Buss Book editions always make me add more books to my TBR list. This edition only contained two that I was interested in, which were The House of One Thousand Eyes and Gilded Wolves. Will continue to read these installments though.

This month, I am going with Buzz Books, offered by Publishers Marketplace. It provides excerpts of upcoming books, and this particular one is just for young adult new books. I get this by Net Galley, but this is also free on Kindle at Amazon. Since I am a blogger for Net Galley, though, Buzz Books allows me to read the excerpt, and then request it if I want to read the whole book. If I get around to reading the Buzz Books as soon as it comes out, everything is available, but I am late to the game this season so I may add some books to my TBR here, but I won't be able to get it from Net Galley as it is already archived.

The Girl in the Locked Room Mary Downing Hahn
What grabbed me: the excerpt, the cover, the author

I am a sucker for a good ghost story told from the point of view of two unreliable narrators (the ghost herself who does not know that she is a ghost) and the young protagonist. I am also familiar with the author who likes to write about mystery and the supernatural. I have already read Closed for the Season and All the Lovely Bad Ones.

Out now which means that it was already archived on Net Galley so I have to find other ways to get a hold of the book. I tried getting my local library to buy it but it does not show up as an option right now.


A Spark of White Fire by Sangu Mandanna

What grabbed me: the summary - seriously, sci fi AND retelling of the Mahabrahata. This is a must read. Plus, how cool is this cover?

Out now but Sky Pony Press did not give it to Net Galley and really, they probably did not feel like they needed to, so this is another I am putting on my TBR and now I have to ask my library to buy this.






Ignite the Stars Maura Milan
What grabbed me: the action in the first chapter grabbed me despite the issue I had with the protagonist's name Ia Cōcha. You know, like Lee Iacocca - Ford and Chrysler auto exec who brought the Mustang back? If it's purposeful, why? If it is coincidental, why?

Out now and no longer available on Net Galley but I recommended it to my local public library so you're welcome.

I loved this collection of book excerpts and reviews for up and coming books. I loved the previous Buzz Books collections, and once again this one had me scoping out a bunch of new books, and adding them all to my TBR. I am most excited for Sadie, as I have seen so much action on Litsy about it, and the blurb on it definitely caught my interest.

A great preview of upcoming YA books! It included excerpts from many titles that were great for getting a taste of the book!

I was provided with a complimentary copy of this book so I could give an honest review. Even though this is the ninth edition of Buzz Books: Young Adult, it is the first I had read. It includes excerpts from upcoming and recently published young adult books. After finishing some of the stories, I immediately ordered their corresponding books because I HAD to finish reading them and was annoyed I didn't have it available to finish it immediately. Others, well, I liked reading them but would not continue reading the rest of the book. This edition provided an eclectic line up of stories and a nice mixture YA sub-genres. Because of people's natural tendency to gravitate to what you are comfortable or familiar with I tend to read the same sub-genres of YA more than others. If I have a choice, I prefer to read more fantasy YA then novels that about real life. I enjoyed reading excepts from books that I would not have normally chosen.

I like the idea of possibly knowing about the next huge book or series before it's published. Also, knowing about them makes a great conversation starter with my children. I would definitely read other Buzz Book collections to help make informed suggestions of selecting books for myself and my children.

this preview had a few titles on my tbr excited pile!!! I didn't read everything :guilty: because I can be an extremely picky reader based on the mood that hits me (for god's sake, I put down cat's captive prince five chapters in when it was still available as original online fiction!!! I picked it up a year and a half year later and despaired that I'd been such an idiot.)

I did a course on european history and we spent a week on the gdr- including watching a german film about a member of the stasi spying on a couple. im a sucker for historical fiction and i love the vibes of this book. lena is a sympathetic main character and her uncle is erratic and mysterious.

this excerpt is taunting me with its desirability!!!! to my coy mistress (netgalley) please grant me the pleasure of this arc in my library!!! it contains a few of my favourite things, including alternate histories, magic, vengeance and heists!! short to the point of taunting but oh, so sweet.


shadow of the wolf by julie kagawa
o julie kagawaaaa- i havent had a good experience with you in the past, but i am quite willing to give you a chance. she is quite good at worldbuilding and the preview here really allows it to sink into your bones and provide ~atmosphere~. also the end is fucking creepy. kudos to jules for the the ol game of thrones method: exposition by execution of character narrating the first chapter. at least it was announced in the first paragraph, which gave me time to brace myself. I love court mystery and intrigue, but i get the feeling from the summary that this aint it. still, i absolutely love japanese history and mythology so i want to give this a crack (i was also approved for an arc get hype!!)

omfgggg im so hype for this book i added it to my tbr: excited about a week ago and i still cant believe i was approved for an arc!! divertsity ftw!!! this preview only shows a little of lei's story before the real struggle begins, but it was the summary that truly drew me in. and all the reviews ive read about this book beforehand.

the worldbuilding isnt in your face and we can immediately tell that we're not in your stock standard western fantasy world. i originally read 'forbidden fantasy' and rolled my eyes because, god, what a cliche. and then some reviews shed a light on this so called forbidden romance ans i did a complete 180 because SIS!!!! THIS IS IT!!!! 20gayteen is HERE!!!! sapphic east asian fantasy is IN!!

i have heard great things about this book and the author so i am prepared to be impressed. the cover is absolutely gorgeous as well- be still my beating heart!

im going zoom over and devour the entire thing once i finish work today (im actually writing this in a lull between patients right now lol)
