Ramona is in town for her grandfather's funeral. She has no intention of staying. Lucas was her childhood friend now turned lover. Best made plans always have a way of changing. Will all the drama come between the couple? A good read.

Yes, you can go home again, but things are not always the same. Ramona left home to get away from her politically inclined family. Her grandfather was known for being the most loved governor in Virginia. Ramona goes home to her grandfather's funeral and the first person she sees is Lucas, her first love. He's a chef, now and they are not fifteen anymore. After a night together, feelings are still there. Going to the funeral and the memories of her childhood makes decisions a little erratic and she doesn't know which direction to take. Lucas is a big part of what leaves her torn. But he has heartbreaking secrets that he hasn't shared. I loved the steamy love scenes between Lucas and Ramona. Will they be able to overcome the deceptions, secrets and their pasts to find love?
I received this book from Net Galley and BooksGoSocial for a honest review and no compensation otherwise.

Ramona and Lucas have been friends since they were children when she was 15 her mum took her and her brother and left. Now she is back home for her grandfather's funeral she is hoping to get out without being noticed but that does not go as planned. I really liked the spark between Ramona and it made for some really hot moments this was a good read and I enjoyed it.

Coming Home is the second book in the Friends & Lovers Series but can be read as a standalone. Coming Home tells the story of Ramona and Lucas. They’ve been best friends since they were young, but have been apart for a really long time. After several years Ramona visits Lucas and since that day everything changes for Ramona.

Coming Home was a nice read. I really liked the story in general, the idea of being best friends and then finally seeing each other again after you’ve been apart for such a long time is really something for me. The story was really good but there were some parts that weren’t that interesting or that necessary which made me give this book a three-star rating.

Coming Home was an east and fast paced read and P.E. Kavanagh had an enjoyable writing style. I’d like to read the other books in the Friends & Lovers Series to see if perhaps the other books are somewhat better than Coming Home!

Although I did enjoy reading this book, some of it was lost on me as I don't understand US politics. I did feel that the book jumped round quite alot and sometimes it was hard to work out what was happening.
This is book 2 in the series - I haven't read the first and think this can be read as a standalone book.

Review from Jeannie Zelos book reviews

Genre: General Fiction (Adult), Romance

I hadn't read book one, didn't realise that these books were connected, I guess Lucas and Ramona were secondary characters in that. Maybe I'd have felt closer to them and the story if I had read the first.
I understood the sizzle when she first met Lucas again, but wished I knew if they'd ever been more than just Good Friends, as that seemed to get heated very quickly. Then once Ramona found out about the engagement I didn't see why she was still with him, especially when he just refused to answer or even consider answering any of her questions. I'd be saying “right, I'm off” and the person I feel Ramona was would too. Yet she doesn't, doesn't ask questions even while telling herself she deserves answers, just carries on in the same way.
I didn't really get why Lucas was with his fiancee. ( Annabelle? I've even forgotten her name and its only a day after reading...) the whole secrecy bit, reasons, excuses, nothing really added up IMO, and then at times it delves into what could be some deep drama but jumps out just as quickly without anything really happening.
I was irritated too at the fact Ramona hasn't been back for ten years, and yet soon as she's here its as if she has a monopoly on grief, she's busy blaming her brother for not being around enough because of his career, even though he lives locally, while conveniently forgetting she';s been away ten years!

Stars: Two, sadly a story that didn't work for me. As ever though others love it, I guess its one of those reads that suit some readers, not others. You can't please all of the people all of the time etc.

Coming Home by P.E. Kavanaugh
I enjoyed reading this intriguing story and thought it was well written. There were some steamy moments but it didn’t overshadow the storyline. At one point I thought I was near the end but there was a twist and added a new perspective on the family dynamic. Overall I would definitely recommend it and look forward to the authors additional works.
