In these days of near-constant electronic connection, we could all do with a bit more nature in our lives. This field guide contains a range of activities (drawing, collages, meditations and much more) to help the reader get more in touch with nature and learn to notice the beauty all around us. This would be great for almost any age (with some help for the littles), from kids to the kids at heart. Many of the activities would be fun to do as a family, but can certainly be enjoyed alone or with a friend. Even if some of the activities aren't your cup of tea, there are great reminders here to disconnect, take a break, relax in nature and be more aware of our surroundings. Included are also ideas for bringing more natural elements into our day to day lives for those times we can't be outside (work) and for living more mindfully in general.

Thank you to NetGalley and The Experiment for the opportunity to read and review this book. All comments are my own, unbiased opinion.

This book is a terrific resource for encouraging young people to spend time in nature. The book is an interactive journal for older children and teens to take into nature, serving as a guide, journal, and inspiration to explore nature in a meaningful way. I loved that the book is not just for the “outdoorsy”types and meets kids where they are in terms of comfort level in wild or semi-wild settings. (There’s even a couple of exercises involving house plants for those squeamish amongst the bugs and dirt.) This journal includes a comprehensive set of exercises appealing to all the senses (e.g. exploring how it feels to put your bare feet in mud), leading young people to truly immerse themselves in nature. This book would be a wonderful companion for young people attending summer camps.

This little nature activity journal could be a good way to unplug and tune into nature. I reviewed an electronic ARC copy through NetGalley but it looks like the little notebook would be just the thing to keep in a backpack or purse to help you center and focus on nature through journaling, collaging, meditation, and other activities any time. There are numerous activities that could appeal to different ages and audiences. The book gives a helpful introduction to the concept of mindfulness and tips on how to use the book. You can keep track of each exercise or skip around or repeat as you want. I like that some of the activities can be done when you are away from nature and want to reconnect. The Into Nature activity journal would make a great gift.

This was a really neat book. It was very odd to have it in ebook format though since it's an activity journal. The illustration was really well done. The quotes and activities were well done

This will make such a sweet gift for any nature lover, writer, crafter or kid. It provides inspiration for getting outside and ways to incorporate nature into your everyday life. You'll definitely want a physical copy vs. a digital version because it has pages to tear out and color. While reading the digital copy, I definitely found myself wishing I could scribble my thoughts on the pages. There were puzzles and journal prompts that could probably be printed out individually, but save yourself the trouble and get a copy to write in.

I plan to pick up a copy for myself and another to have on hand for a gift. I see myself working through the prompts on a road trip with my family. Kids from around 8 and up could use this and I see this working well for a Girl Scout troop project
