Wow this book is HOT!! It has a good story line that keeps you wanting to read, but if you are after some good erotic fiction this will leave you feeling quite hot and bothered. The writing is very descriptive and explicit in some of the terms, so if you get offended easily you better skip past this one. If you are after a book with burning hot sexy action, read on.

Old Enough is a book that captivated me from the first page to the last. The book is a story of an older lady and a younger man in a torrid love affair. A love that story that keeps unfolding and leaves you curious at the end as to what will happen in book two.

the is a story about an older woman is around 40 and a younger man is soon to be 20. I couldn’t really get into this book. The older women was too whiny and weak willed and that ruined the story for me. The guy was nice but he put a lot with the lead character and I just kept thinking why is he still with her.

By now I've grown to expect nothing less than an addictive story from Charmaine Pauls. She definitely delivered with this read so make sure you grab this one.

Can a woman who's so used to getting by just being content find true happiness? Sometimes the broken roads we travel lead us straight to where we belong.

I cannot wait to snag Young Enough and get to reading. Enjoy!

I'm in a mixed feelings sorta place with this book.

The premise wasn't one I've read before and isn't something I'd usually pick up. BUT I'm trying to read out of my comfort zone more so I figured this would be a place to start.

The 'older woman meets younger man' concept in this book had me really confused as a lot of the time I found Brian's behaviour to be more that of a 30 or even 40+ man than a guy barely unto his 20's. Jane by contrast acts a lot younger than her age so it seemed less like older woman/younger man and more the other way round.

Yes the sex is (mostly) hot and yes Brian has good points (looks after his mum and sister) and so does Jane, but I had major issues with Brian's over possessive and controlling behaviour early on.
Who essentially breaks and enters into someone's house and thinks it's ok to do so? Ok so he's meant to be the alpha male and a dom but given that he's meant to be 20 it just doesn't read well to me.

As much as I would like to be able to say I've expanded my reading and appreciated a new style/theme I can honestly say I won't read any more works in this series, it turns out it really isn't for me!

Thanks to the author for providing ARC to me. This is the second book for the series and it definitely didn't let me down at all. The story is wonderful and full of unpredictables. Loved it. 4.5 stars will be given.

I am volunteering to leave a review of this ARC book from Net Galley. What an amazing book! What amazing characters! Ms. Pauls takes what many would feel is taboo and makes it amazing, and hopefully less taboo! In my humble opinion, love is love. If you have found the person who completes you, you should be completed! I cannot wait to read more! Thank you Ms. Pauls for this fabulous book!

I’m going to start off with, this book is really long. Even though it ended in a cliffhanger, it was still too long. That being said, I liked this book. It wasn’t great. But it was good.

Brian and Jane had great chemistry throughout the book. Very hot and steamy. I think it’s going to bother some readers that he’s only 19 and she’s a lot older than him. But it didn’t bother me.

I didn’t like the way Jane was being treated by her daughter and her own friends after her husband left her. I couldn’t stand how Debbie was trying to live Jane’s life after stealing Jane’s husband.

Overall, good book. But not good enough for me to want to read the next book.

He was old enough for so many things but meeting Jane was something that changed his life forever. One simple request and a dare to find out more was all it took for him to be captivated. So many years between them. The allure of changing their lives when they are surrounded by responded bad luck turned into an outlet that made everyday tolerable. Finding who they are together and ignoring the taboo of being together was a driving force into their relationship. Great first part of the series.

Old Enough by Charmaine Pauls is part one of two in the Age Between Us series. Having read Charmaine Pauls work before, and enjoying it, I was eager to give this book a try. Warning, this book ends on a cliffhanger, and for me this book went extremely fast. I recommend having both parts on hand when beginning Old Enough.

Jane, for the most part, has been able to go on with her life after the death of a previous lover over a decade ago. On the anniversary of his death, she mourns him deeply, then returns to her husband and daughter. She considers Francois her best friend, however, a passion for him is lacking. When he asks Jane for a divorce, it still comes as a shock to her.

Brian is a student in college. He is trying desperately to care for his emotionally troubled mother and his younger sister. A chance meeting at a bar, with a man determined to ruin Jane's life, puts Brian on Jane's path. From the moment Brian sees Jane, his gravitation to her is instant.

When Jane and Brian meet, seemingly by chance, they quickly begin an affair. Watching the romance grow, steeped in a passionate dominant-submissive intensity, was alluring.

Brian is mature for his age, having to become the head of his household at a young an age. Everything Brian does is for the benefit of others. He protects his mother, sister, and, almost immediately, Jane. The perfect balance of compassion and assertiveness, Brian is appealing as the romantic lead.

Jane has a hard time recovering from the changes in her life. Her old friends, her ex-husband, her job, all seem to drag her further into despair. Brian becomes the one good thing in her life, and soon, even their affair becomes impossible for her to believe will survive. I felt sorry for Jane. I spent a lot of time frustrated with the treatment she endured from her family and friends. So frustrated, in fact, that I began not relating to her very well.

Unfortunately for Brian and Jane, their romance is ill-timed. Jane is dealing with her divorce, as well as the prejudice regarding her relationship with Brian. Brian is desperately trying to avoid involvement with the gang in his neighborhood. He realizes dealing with the crime family head-on, rather than avoiding it, is the only way to ensure his loved ones will remain safe. These outer influences make it appear their relationship will not survive.

Charmaine Pauls knows how to write dark, taboo romances. Her couples have to work hard for their relationship, but the payoff is better for it. I received this book from NetGalley for my honest opinion. I encourage all readers to reach their own conclusions.

Brilliant read, as all of Charmaine’s books, I would highly recommend reading not just this book—but all of her books! Amazing!!

I have never been a big fan of romances between an older woman and a younger man. However, this book was brilliant. The characters were amazing and skilfully created. Brian was a character who acted in such a way I always forgot his age and Jane as well. She acted a lot more younger than what she then turned out to be. This book really made my opinions rise to the surface and I can't wait to read the rest of their story. I really hope they get a happy ending, they truly deserve it.

Finally an older woman/younger man plot! It's well written, if a little off in areas. Jane falling so hard and fast for this nearly 20 year old and letting him dominant her...not sure if I buy that one. Brian having a key to her house and coming and going as he pleases....nope. I want Jane to grow a pair and act like a 40 plus, accomplished mother of a teen girl. I love Brian, though. He's strong, caring and fearless, though I felt his dominant side was a little out of let field - especially with a woman he knows little about. I think their experimentation was a bit reckless on both parts. Even with these sticking points, I'm still in it for the long haul. I want to see how everything turns out.

Old Enough is my first Charmaine Pauls book but I couldn't wait to get the next book because I was entralled by the older woman/younger man storyline. There is way more than that trope going on in this story. There is suspense to some degree...that "Why did he do that and why is he lying about it?" (you'll have to read it to find out what I'm talking about). Brian is an old soul for sure and a relationship that SHOULDN'T work does to some extent. Is it the hot sex? I'm positive that is a big part of it but to me there is way more going on here than meets the eye. Jane has been through her own wringer and is now coming into her own. BUT there are characters in this story I want to strangle and only with the next book will I find out if they get their comeuppance. Even Jane's child is angering me to some degree. But I will say that I absolutely LOVE Brian and I love these two together. I'm just not sure they will make it once all the secrets are revealed.

Old Enough (book 1 of The Age Between Us) is my first experience with Charmaine Pauls and overall it was a positive read. Brian is sexy but young. Jane is the divorced older woman who has a daughter. It seems wrong, but the two have great chemistry. If you like explicit sex, some kink, and talented writing you'll like Old Enough. Be sure to continue to Book 2. I read an e-ARC. Thanks NetGalley

Jane finds her life in shambles as a young man swims into her life. Brian has a life that is drowning him as he is given a chance to meet an old woman. What these two find together is powerful, but not understood by many.

This book will take on a ride time and time again. I enjoyed the story between Jane and Brian. If you love reading hot, sexy books, you should pick this one up. It won't disappoint!

As with all Mrs. Paul's books you get sucked in by the story, the characters or both. For me it was Brian, this character was so well written and whole that I could ignore my annoyance with Jane. To be fair I understand Jane's perspective but she still annoyed the hell out of me. I've already read the next book in the series and all I can say is read this so you can read the next one.

A reverse story where the woman is in her early fourties and the Hero is 19 soon to be 20. Not my thing. And it did not get better with the way the heroin was described. She should be strong but is is absolutely not. That ruined the story for me.
The Hero is carrying and a nice guy.
Story could have be saved if the heroin had been stronger.
