This book is so beautiful! The pictures are amazing and the recipes look delicious. I have marked up a few pages with ideas for upcoming spring parties and can't wait to see how everything looks and tastes!

This is such a lovely, eye-catching, appealing cookbook! While I was mostly interested in seeing what recipes I could try, I did appreciate the fun party tips scattered throughout as well. The photography of the dishes was so great because it gave a nod to the full table-place settings that could be used to complement each recipe. An amazing and inspiring cookbook! I truly love Elizabeth Heiskell's THE SOUTHERN LIVING PARTY COOKBOOK. I'd like to make every single recipe inside this book. The pictures are beautiful, the recipes are well written, and the food is delicious too. I do not disappoint at all.

This book is perfect for those who love to entertain guests in their house. There are information on invites, setting the table, the importance of RSVP, and so on. Highly Recommended.

The Southern Living Party Cookbook would be the perfect book for a bride-to-be or someone setting up a new home. A cookbook that is very well organized by menus and with the appropriate tips and tricks to get this party started. This is an essential guide to entertaining, divided by occasion, offering fresh menu ideas for every celebratory scenario. Each main course has a side dish and dessert; with notes and special details of substitions and helpful tips to for presenting, that every hostess would get from a recipe passed down or given by a true friend. Wonderful hostess tips for the modern woman and even for the man that likes to cook and wants to impress a very special lady in his life.

As a Chef I read a lot of cookbooks, this is undeniably great for cooks of all levels of experience. I love all cookbooks, vintage and new ones equally; ways of cooking are always changing, and a good cook needs to keep learning the new ways. As a caterer I plan and hold parties for various type of events and ages; there are several helpful ideas to aid me in bringing the WOW factor to even more events.

Author Ms. Elizabeth Heiskell has taken the time to combine the necessary information for cooks of all levels. It is a wonderful idea to add pictures for others to see the process that are clear and beautiful. Ms. Elizabeth Heiskell added little stories that were fun to read, making it have more of a personal feel.

The Southern Living Party Cookbook is clear and concise, breezed through this gem of a book last night and am looking forward to trying the recipes and using the entertainment tips. I would buy a hardcopy of this book; which I am always doing, a cook can never have too many cookbooks. If you love cookbooks, this is a must have for you; I highly recommend The Southern Living Party Cookbook, a necessary addition to all cooks’ collection. A realy stylish insight into the Southern Living, which reveals, at least for this reader, a lot of interesting stories that has to do more to the history of mentalities than to simple, easygoing lifestyle. Even you cannot replicate some of the recipes, you have at least a story to thing about in terms of culture, particularly the eating culture.

As I'd hoped, this cookbook has recipes for amazing "small bites" that are perfect for people circulating at parties. I always enjoyed giving people choices of lots of little tastes, but tended to do the same ones over and over again. This book provided lots of inspiration for new eats at parties (main dishes, too)!

This cookbook is an updated version of the 1972 book Southern Living Party Cookbook. The recipes are fantastic- full of flavor, not-to-difficult and lots of vartieties! I can’t wait to get a physical copy of this book and start using it in the kitchen.

I love cookbooks. Southern girl that I am, I especially love Southern Living magazine, and their wonderful cookbooks, and I have quite a few. This one is no exception, in part because it's a bit of an update of their classic 1972 Party Cookbook. What I don't love quite so much is actually throwing a party, but flipping through this cookbook makes me want to send out some invitations. Beautiful pictures, delicious-sounding new takes on old recipes (can't wait to try the updated Green Bean casserole, nary a can of soup in sight), with lots of little party ideas and advice sprinkled throughout. Casual to fancy, holiday dinner parties to backyard fish fries, brunch to after-theater gatherings, this covers a multitude of occasions, and it's completely lovely to look at. This is definitely a keeper, and one I'll be referring to often.

A beautifully designed cookbook organized by menus and with the appropriate tips and tricks to get this party started. My favorites are the simple yet elegant recipes like the grilled romaine with charred lemon-feta vinaigrette, strawberries with lemon curd dip and the bourbon-infused coffee milk punch. The recipes look amazing and I can’t wait to make some for a holiday dinner This book is the perfect hostess or bridal shower gift!

What a gem! I love this revamp of the 1972 book. This is such a wonderful source of information for party planning, and the recipes are amazing. I made the sausage meatballs, salmon canapés, and a few of the cocktail recipes and they were a hit. All entertainment enthusiasts must add this to your collection. Amazing! Also, the pictures are to die for. Such lovely photography.

Of course, there is more than just photos. The collection of recipes presented are wide, yet very simple.
The information about setting the table is also a nice resource to have. Very pretty arrangements displayed.

When it comes to parties, who better than Southern Living to help you plan it. Southern Living is the gold standard of cooking, lifestyle and all things Southern. This book, like my other Southern Living cookbooks, is one to keep on the shelf to use time and again. The kids and grand kids will get this one when I die.

I was not at all surprised at the beauty and helpfulness of this book. It is well designed and the pictures are elegant leading you to inspiration. It is great to have in your kitchen from the wonderful recipes to the helpful entertainment tips -- the fantastic information you'd expect from Southern Living Party. The five sections include Teas, Coffees, and Receptions; Brunches and Lunches; Come By For A Drink Y'All; Cookouts; Celebrations and Dinners.

I received a copy of this book for a fair and honest review. I enjoyed the way the book was separated into sections. It made it easy to plan out ways to use the book or things I wanted to make. It is good for ideas for parties, luncheons, and other get-togethers. It has things from drink, snacks, dinner and dessert ideas. It is a good book to have.

I grew up loving Southern Living magazine, so this Southern Living Party Cookbook did not disappoint. I would gladly purchase this to give as a hostess gift and/or a housewarming gift. The recipes are easy and tasty.

I have been a long time Southern Living fan. This cookbook is one that any Southern Living fan or cookbook fan would like and need in their collection. The recipes are very easy to understand so this book would make a great first cookbook and gift. A lot of the recipes were new to me and I loved the different menus for different occasions. A Beautiful guide to wonderful Parties!! Everything to do with a party is explained in this book!! Well-written, it is a guide to the best parties you will ever have, along with recipes to go along with it. This is a must have for anyone that likes to throw parties! Excellent information!
