This book was really, really good! I was hooked from the beginning and I ended up enjoying it so much. It's been a while since I've read a book about werewolves (or at least it feels like a while) and I wasn't disappointed with this one.

I loved our main character, Ness. She has a fiery personality and I was rooting for her when she was trying to prove herself. It pissed me off to no end the way the Boulder pack was treating her sometimes so I'm glad she didn't just lie there and took it.

About the romance, at the beginning I hoped something would happen between her and August but I knew she would probably end up with Liam. Even though I'm a bit sad for August, I'm not mad. I ended up liking Liam and they were cute together.

Thank you for giving me an ARC to read and review via Netgalley.

PS: I signed up to get an Arc for the second book. I can't wait! :D

I truly enjoyed reading this book. Hope to see more action from August in the next book. It started slow. But, it became more interesting as the story progresses. Love the style of writing too.

This book took my entire Sunday and I'm not even mad.

What an angsty, complicated, sexy, tension-filled page turner this was!

After her mother dies of cancer, Ness Clark returns to the place she once called home after six years. Unrecognizable to most at first, Ness' return brings with it demons from her past and unresolved issues that she would rather soon forget. At the center of it all is Liam Kolane - son of the late Alpha - who is now next in line, but Ness has no use for Liam and cared even less about his father. So when Ness challenges for Alpha - to bring change to the Pack (and of course to spite Liam) - all hell breaks loose. Ness with her head strong, fiery personality and Liam with his (misguided at times) Pack mentality are constantly pushing against each other making an already strained relationship even more tenuous. Neither are trusting of the other and both are misunderstood which makes for some very complex (and delicious!) situations. And as the Alpha trials start to heat up so does the sexual tension between Ness and Liam and believe you me, it is a freaking scorcher!

Hate to love troupe is my biggest guilty pleasure and Ness and Liam's story was so good it has to be fattening! Whether they were pushing against each other or colliding together they jumped right off the page. I saw them clear as day and felt their emotions as if I were standing along side them while I may or may not have been experiencing the need to throttle them both..lol.

Rounding out the story are a lot of great secondary characters that I hope to see more of in the next book! Also something equally great..I'm not fully trusting some of those I'm being told to trust, which is always fun!

And speaking of the next book (A Pack of Vows and Tears), while this ending saw a few loose ends tied up it also created new story arcs for the second installment (which I need like yesterday!). Nothing extremely cliffy, but...oh, the things to come!

This was my first with Olivia's writing and if the rest of her books are even remotely close to what I just experienced, I will load up my Amazon cart right now. A Pack of Blood and Lies had my absolute attention from start to finish and I only hope that I can get my hands on the sequel soon! Dear God, make it soon! In the meantime, I can't wait to have this finished copy in my hands for those many future rereads to come because you can bet a hairy werewolves butt that I will be preordering this and recommending to everyone!

This book kept me on the edge of my seat. The beginning was a bit slow and the plot was all over the place, but the ending clicked everything into place. I’m definitely looking forward to the next installment to see what happens next.

I received a copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I don't normally read fiction that largely involves transforming into wolves, but if i were to recommend any book with that theme it would be this one. I really enjoyed reading this book.

The dialogue between the characters was smooth, never cliche or cheesy, which really made the scenes flow. Ness (the protagonist) is also quite realistic in how she feels about the other characters around her and how she treats them. And her ill-treatment of some of them is very understandable, considering what you find out. This book doesn't shy away from some sensitive issues and has integrated this into the story well.

The descriptions in this book are also great, you really get an image of where the characters are or how they look without the descriptions feeling cluttered.

I rated this four out of five stars because although i enjoyed this book, i felt it could have done with a little more action or intense scenes to make it more exciting. The ending was a little anticlimactic, and the antagonists didn't make as much of an impact as they could have. Although, this is the first book in a series so perhaps a lot more will come from the sequel, which i look forward to.

This was such an exceptional story. It had me completely hooked right from the first page and I didn't want to put it down.

There was plenty of depth to the story with a number of twists and enemies to lovers theme. It was extremely well-written and the author structured the story in a way to keep readers guessing. There were two deaths with the murderers to be uncovered and also a sadness to the story at times. There was also a challenge for pack leadership which was fascinating and I appreciated the strength behind Ness to enter it and to challenge the boys.

The characters were particularly rewarding and I enjoyed the slow and deliberate feel to the romance that built between Ness and Liam and I can't wait to read more.

Highly recommended shifter story.

Thank you Netgalley and Twilight Press for the opportunity to review this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This book from beginning to end was spectacular. It's like what if Mare from Red Queen encounters Jacob from Twilight and then meets the Royal werewolf family and fights for the ultimate reign, winner takes all and loser is forced to die. Every page was a new adventure and just when you thought the story is going one direction, it immediately switches gears and takes a whole new turn. Edge of your seat action that will make you keep reading until the end. Olivia Wildenstein did a brilliant job with this story and I am really hoping this will turn into a series because it will circulate very well at our library.

We will definitely consider adding this title to our YFantasy collection at the library. That is why it's an honor to give this book 5 stars.

I didn’t know how to rate this book. Because I had one big problem during the whole book - the existence of werewolves was not exactly a secret but it was neither publicly known.... They tried to keep this information safe from some people but on the other site their girlfriends knew that they were werewolves. This was very confusing for me and I almost abandoned the book in the beginning but... the romance had me hooked. It was fun and very enjoyable. That’s the reason I give this book 4 stars. I’ve read it in one sitting, so it deserves this rating.
Big thanks to author and publisher for this ARC.

Exciting werewolf story with lots of twists and turns. Perfect for lovers of slow-burn romance. Can't wait to see where the story goes from here.

A Pack of Blood and Lies is werewolf YA fiction at its finest. Ness is a teenage werewolf shunned by her pack. When circumstances force her to associate with her pack again, she uncovers secrets and lies, which lead her to compete to become the pack alpha. There are fantastic feminist vibes to this story, which made it unique and enjoyable. It also has elements of a potential love triangle, tons of family/pack drama, and lots of mystery.

Thank you to Twilight press for the arc of this amazing book!
I loved it from beginning to end, never guessed the twist, not even an inkling.
I look forward to the next books in the series, it’s going to be a long wait, but so worth it!

This book was such a fun read! Wonderful storyline and all the secrets revealed throughout the book had me hooked! I really liked Ness and her strong personality. She's opinionated and stubborn and doesn't let the all male wolf pack intimidate her. The other characters were developed pretty well and I really hope we find out more about August. I'll definitely be continuing on with this series and can't wait for the next book!

I received a free ARC from Net Galley in exchange for my honest review.

This is my very first Olivia Wildenstein book and you bet I'm kicking myself for not reading her books sooner.

A Pack of Blood and Lies was such a delightful read! I love Ness' mindful recklessness and the simmering attraction with Liam. The writing was very addictive. And although there really wasn't much when it came to the action aspect of the book, I was never bored. I've read tons of werewolf books but this one has to be one of my top favorites. There was just something about it that really captured my interest- might be the romance, might be hot, sexy Liam, might be Ness' fiery personality, might be the secrets, deceit and mysteries shrouding the story.. the list goes on and on. But whatever it was, I honestly don't care because I LOVE the book so much.
Flew thru this in one sitting and the sleepless night was so worth it!

Now excuse me while go find another Olivia Wildenstein book to devour.

I received an e-arc to read and review. All opinions are my own.
