This was a really cute book about best friends turned couple. I didn't really like Tate he seemed very standoffish, and it was weird how they hadn't been together long or really even kissed but yet he was asking her to move in. Tate didn't really even take Darcy's career into account with his decision just, "oh i figured she could work remotely. "

Elliot and Darcy has been friends since they were in kindergarten. Elliot has known he's in love with her for the past year and he's willing to do whatever it takes to get the woman he loves. Hoping she feels the same way. This is definitely a feel good, heart warming love story.

This book was very very short, and hence felt very very shallow and rushed to me. Frankly it was pretty boring.

My thanks to NetGalley and Kobo Writing Life for an eARC copy of this to read and review.

I admit, I requested this book because the author's name is familiar to me. She is popular at our store in the section my boss and I call the "naughty" books. I was curious and also wanted to read a newer title of hers so I could speak with some knowledge about this author to those who read her or to those who read similar books. And that black and white cover is just GORGEOUS.

This was not what I expected. I DNF'd at 33%. I was bored and when I get bored, I read spoilers and I read spoilers for this book and the next one in the series and decided it wasn't for me personally. It didn't seem to be as "hot" as I would expect, knowing where her backlist is shelved, and the MC H was kind of a jerk in how he treated Tate. If you like the girl, TELL HER. Man UP and tell her, rather than boinking anything that will let you and setting her up with a friend and then snaking her from him when you can't stand seeing her happy with another guy.

While this wasn't for me, I admit I am VERY picky about the romance I read. It has to be the right book at the right time. If I read this a week earlier or later? Might have been my favorite book of all time. As it is? DNF for me, but glad I have read what I did of it so I can recommend to customers who will be more receptive to it than I am at this time.

2 stars, as I didn't enjoy it, but I didn't hate it and I won't hesitate to recommend to someone who is more into contemporary romance than I am.

The Date Dare is a different kind of story than I am used to by Tara Sue Me. I did enjoy Darcy & Elliot’s story.

A fun flirty story about two best friends who make a dare that they will find a date for each other, even though Elliot is in love with Darcy. As they go through watching one another date, Darcy might have found someone she wants to be with and Elliot is the idiot who has set them up. Will they be able to finally let one another know how they really feel? Or will they let the fear of losing their best friend by telling one another their true feelings be too much?

I thought the premise of this was pretty cute, however the characters actions felt very rushed and seemed to move too quickly. I think it would have felt more realistic if the book was a tad longer. But I do recommend trying this one if you just want a cute romance that moves quickly.

I thought that this was a cute and short read. The main characters are friends setting each other up on dates and they end up falling for each other.

ARC provided via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

A fun, sweet book about friends who are hesitating to become more. It is a slow burn as the find their way to each other while setting up dates with other people. I enjoyed that they had a true friendship first and the book was a low-angst, enjoyable read. Just the kind of book you go for after a book hangover. Easy, fun, charming.

Thanks to NetGalley for providing an arc in exchange for an honest review.

I had heard a lot about the author and was excited to get the opportunity to read something by her.
The book is based around a boy and a girl who challenge each other to find their perfect date.
I enjoyed the Suspense although I felt the end was rather obvious from the beginning.
I was given this book by Netgalley and the publisher. This is my voluntary review.

The Date Date is the first in a duet by Tara Sue Me. (The second book in the duet is The Date Deal.) I decided to read this because I am a huge fan of Tara Sue Me's previous books, but I was unsure if I would really like it because friends-to-lovers books are definitely not one of my favorite kinds. I'm glad I took a chance though. This book is written in a dual point of view from Darcy and Elliot.

This was a fun read.

Darcy and Elliot have been friends since they were kids. Platonic friends but in a split second Elliot realizes he is in love with his best friend. But he doesn’t want to risk their friendship or losing Darcy.

The Title kind of gives the plot away. Basically, they dare each other to date people they think they should be with. But how does he find the nerve to tell his best friend he’s in love with her without losing her? Well, guess you will have to read to find out..

I would maybe read something for this author again if it had a good plot :)

This book was very very short, and hence felt very very shallow and rushed to me.
I actually totally shipped Darcy with Tate because I didn’t feel the supposed chemistry between her and Elliott at all.

They went from being best friends to doing a complete 180 during the last two chapters and professing their undying love? I just wasn’t buying it.

This was a long, drawn out and frustrating read. The first few chapters had you hooked and anticipating the next chapters, but nothing prepared me for how irritating the characters are, how lack luster and infuriating the main characters are about their feelings, interests and bipolar intentions toward each other.

The Date Dare is a short and sweet story revolving around two lifelong friends, Darcy and Elliot. Darcy is an international hotel chain expert and Elliot is a trainer for a professional lacrosse team. Throughout the past 25 years, they have always kept in touch.

Elliot's never been one to settle down into long-term relationships. And because Darcy feels like she knows him better than anyone, she dares Elliott to let her find him a date. Someone who she feels would be a good fit for him. Never one to resist a good dare, Elliot agrees to it on the condition that he is allowed to do the same thing for her.

Darcy and Elliott have a great friendship. You can see how close they are by their interactions. Watching each of them go on their dates was a fun and interesting aspect to the story. But no matter who they went out with or what they did, I was just waiting for that moment when Elliott would realize that he no longer could be on the sidelines when it came to his love for Darcy.

Even though The Date Dare is a short story, it didn’t feel rushed and the characters were easy to like. If you are in the mood for a little romantic pick me up, then read The Date Dare. And while you are at it, check out The Date Deal, the second book involving Elliot’s sister, Carsen.

RATING: 3½ out of 5.

**I received this book from Kobo Writing Life through NetGalley for an honest review.**

Darcy and Elliott have been friends since they were kids in elementary school. Darcy wants more for Elliott when it comes to his relationships, so she dares him to let her find his next girl. Elliott will only agree if he’s allowed to do the same thing.

The Date Dare started out very strong. I loved their friendship and easy banter. I was a bit shocked at how dumb Darcy played when it came to Elliott, but I felt all the feels and couldn’t wait to see where things were going to go.
I honestly felt like things tapered off and bit became a little typical which was unfortunate for such a short read. I really did like Darcy and Elliot as friends though, their connection was top notch.
Overall a good amount of drama that was able to keep me entertained from start to finish.

Loved this book! Thank you so much for the opportunity to read. Can’t wait to read more from this author.

This was okay. I read the blurb, and I understood that these 2 are going on a date with other people. I didn't know that they both secretly love each other, but won't do anything about it. Elliot says he loves Darcy, but he has "needs". Um yeah. That doesn't require you to bring the person you're sleeping with at the moment to every get together you have with the person you "love". I thought the dating other people thing would be over fairly quickly, but Darcy is with the other guy for most of the book. As much as she liked him, it was hard for me to accept Elliot and Darcy as a couple. This one wasn't for me, but if you can look past other people dating the main characters, then give it a try.

I have to admit I felt really disappointed with this story, there’s something missing. I didn’t feel the love for the characters. They really frustrated me, and normally frustration isn’t a bad thing because it makes me root for them but in this case I kept rolling my eyes at them because I wanted to bang their heads together.

That was a feeling that I couldn’t shake and whilst I did finish the story I didn’t connect to it and I’m sorry to say that it just truly wasn’t for me.
