This is my first Tara Sue Me read, and i loved it! This is a sweet friends to lovers romance! There is something about unrequited love and fear of the unknown that is very swoon worthy. This book has a sweet and sexy side full of witty banter and smut!

Thank you Netgalley for this ARC in exchange for an unbiased review.

What happens when you wake up one day and realize your in love with your best friend of 20 years ? Well, you can do what Elliott did... set the love of your life up with one of your friends...and then stand by and watch it unfold. I love the two main characters Elliot and Darcy and found this book a quick easy read that you can devour in 24 hours. The writing was fast and catchy and within the first chapter i was hooked. I can not wait to see what Tara Sue Me comes up with next...
Thank you for taking me on such a fun journey.

Thanks to the publisher for an ARC to read and give my honest opinion.

This was one of those super terrific blurbs that just fizzle out as your reading your copy. Elliot is in love with Darcy, as they are besties, they think it's not a good enough reason to date each other because best friends are harder to find than dates. I'm big on eye rolls and that got a super big one from me. So you watch as they go through dates and finally realize what's been said all along.

What did I like? This is a go to author so I'm a bit surprised at how bored I was reading this book. Elliot has no romantic bone seeing as he loves her and sets her up on dates with friends that won't even make a move on her. Darcy is just as bad, setting him up on dates that he pretty much ruins with in a few hours. It was ad nauseum watching them go through all this for what?

Would I buy this book? No, I would not recommend either cause it was such a disappointment. I could not even relate to what these two are going through.

Thoughts for the author.... go back to BDSM books....pretty please.

Darcy and Elliot are the most dynamic duo that there has ever been! I have been an avid reader and fan to Tara Sue Me's Submissive series. So when I read The Date Dare, I did not expect the lightness and laughter with this book. Darcy had me cracking up and Elliot was just swoon worthy. There is a slow burn and it had me following its trail.

The Date Dare is a great new read from Tara Sue Me. You will be stuck to your Kindle like glue! You will fall for our self doubting Elliot and our sassy heroine Darcy. I love the beauty of their 20 year friendship and the HEA. I was excited to see Tate will be having a story of his own and all I can say there is a storm brewing! I am in love with this series and we only just begun.

When I got an ARC for this book, I was beyond excited. I am a fan of Tara Sue Me and I am always happy to read one of her books. Unfortunately, this book was not for me and I had conveniently forgotten about it until the time to review it came. The blurb isn't some kind of prologue to Elliot and Darcy's story. Nooo, we get to meet the flavor of the month and see Darcy date another man, which left us with a tiny 40% to see Elliot and Darcy together. That's only 70 out of the 175 pages and honestly, it felt even less. Maybe they were less and that was the point where Elliot decided that doing the horizontal mambo with other women was not the way to get over Darcy and actually go for her. Which leads me to the first and major reason I couldn't stand the book. The book begins with Elliot, Darcy, and O2. O2 is the second flavor of the month, hence the 2. Darcy mentions that for the past year when she and Elliot were together (as friends of course) the current flavor of the month was with him. And isn't it great to have your friends eff buddy when you are hanging out? Isn't it even better when Elliot says that he only slept with these women because he was in love with Darcy and he couldn't have her? He wasn't just having them around as buffers, he was getting some Os too. That's some material for a swoon-worthy boyfriend, right?

And as if that wasn't enough, we also had Darcy and Tate who were in a relationship and Darcy wanted to sleep and have a future with him. Not Elliot, Tate. He was a good guy and had more relationship material on him than Elliot ever did. Darcy was like, I know Elliot is hot, but I don't want him in my bed, I want Tate. If this book was a full- length one, I might have felt differently. Unfortunately, now I feel like I wasted my time and energy on this book. The part where Elliot is going for Darcy and them ending up together eventually felt rushed and after a while, I skimmed it. I felt like there was nothing worth reading because I was more invested in Darcy with Tate, instead of her and her best friend. It's not like Darcy realized that she and Tate are not working out and that Elliot was the best man for her. Tate is the MVP of the book. I am so happy that he will get a story. This is not one of the books where the blurb can describe half the story. The epic dated needed to happen in the prologue and have the whole book developing the relationship between two people who were best friends and then became something more.

I realize some of the fault is on me since the blurb warns us about what is going on, but Elliot disgusted me with his flavors of the month. He didn't need to sleep with all these women between the time he realized he loved Darcy and the moment he went for her.

"But I can't help think that there's something more. That marraige is something more. That love is something more. And nice is nothing but settling. And I don't want to settle. I want it all. I want a fairytale, happy ending, happily ever after, and the to be continued."

Relatively “Date to Dare” makes for a fast and quick read. It’s some 175 pages and took me only about two hours to finish reading it. November has been a very intense month for me reading wise so I suppose this book was kind of a welcome change even though I didn’t enjoy it as much as I would have liked to.

It’s quite clichéd story following the lives of two people Elliot and Darcy, who are best friends since they were little kids and understands each other like no other. Or do they? Because Elliot is secretly in love with Darcy for the past one year and she has no idea. She is just pissed at Elliot for dating the wrong sort of women. Anyhow, they end up daring to find the perfect partner for each other and while Darcy clicks instantly with guy Elliot sets her up with, Elliot’s date ends up in a disaster. He should be happy for his best friend but instead he is miserable. What will Elliot do? Will he act on his feelings? Or will he let go of Darcy?

So, cheesy, I know, right? I won’t deny the fact that this book was a good change of pace for me and some parts were kind of tolerable. However, there isn’t anything new in the story. It follows the same old trope of friends to lovers; the writing is average and the characters are not that great either. It’s a very short book so there isn’t any sort of emotional, angsty developments. Everything just fell flat for me and the story didn’t really give me any feels. Things just happens and everything falls into place quite easily. Also, Elliot and Darcy acts more like teenagers rather than grownups.

Overall, I guess you need to be in a particularly silly mood to read this book because this book is just that, puerile, pulpy and corny. NOT FOR ME!

**FULL REVIEW**

"There is no need for me to look for my soul mate. I know who she is."

This feel-good, sexy and sweet rom-com is just what I needed. Read in one sitting, I am always engrossed in Tara's words. The Date Dare is no exception. From page one, I was pulled in and kept turning pages until there were none left...and the happy surprise of another book? Yes, please!

Elliott and Darcy are cute and fun, a perfect combination of sweet and sexy. I look forward to more of these stories from Tara!

**4 Pick One, Stars**

The Dare Date was Super cute! It did take me a little bit to get into the book because the writing was a little slow for me, but once i got into a groove with it, I couldn’t put the book down. The story is really sweet and the characters had great chemistry! I reallly enjoyed it!

This a cute story. I think that the friend keeping his feelings hidden for as long as he did seemed a little unbelievable and that she didn’t catch on to it for so long seemed to be unrealistic. It is cute how he dated her to get her to realize her true feelings. I liked it,

I normally LOVE a good friends to lovers romance but this one fell flat, mostly because I didn't get enough of the friends as lovers. Seriously, most of the book was literally them and other people and I felt shortchanged on their relationship.
Don't get me wrong, there were funny moments and sweet moments and all that but this just didn't feel like a romance.

I loved seeing this fun and flirty side from Ms. Sue Me. Darcy and Elliott have been best friends forever…but Elliott is hiding something from her. He’s in love with Darcy and doesn’t know how to tell her. So of course the logical thing would be to agree to set the other up on a date. What could go wrong??!! This was a quick, light and sweet read and I can’t wait for the next book. I’m dying to know HOW those two get together.

* I was provided and Advanced copy of this book from Netgalley in exchange for my honest review *

This was an average romance contemporary. I would’ve like to see more of a major plot and the characters more developed, however I got excactly what I needed out of this book. It was short, and sweet.

A wonderful story about two friends who love each other but are scared to admit it. What will it take to make Darcy and Elliott realize how right they are for each other?
This book has a little romance, a little lust and a great story line.

The Date Dare had me hooked just from its description! I hurriedly put my toddler to sleep and started this book. I finished it in one sitting, however, I must admit it is a short read with only 165 pages.

In the Date Dare, we are introduced to two Best Friends Darcy and Elliott. They have been friends since childhood. Elliott realizes that he is in love with Darcy, but does everything in his power to avoid facing the truth. Unfortunately, that puts us in an awkward romance triangle, because Elliot stupidly pawns her off to Mr. Perfect.

I loved the bickering and back and forth between the characters. I enjoyed the plot, I kind of wish the story was a little longer. I feel as if the ending was a bit rushed. I wish I had more background to Darcy and Elliott's history as friends. I also wish their present relationship leading to the conclusion had more.

However, I do give this book a 4 out of 5 & I highly recommend!

Why are the things we find most important in life, what we take for granted the most? Darcy and Elliott are about to learn the high price of letting go. The Date Dare is another Tara Sue Me gem. This feel good tale is a heartbreaker with an irresistible couple. Elliott and Darcy have always counted on each other to get them through the big stuff. Their friendship has helped them endure heartache, humiliation and so many other milestones in their lives. When their longstanding bond experiences it's first major growing pain, their relationship will never be the same. The Date Dare hits the heart from all sides. From funny bone to broken heart, Elliott and Darcy are an unforgettable breath of fresh air.

Who better to be the love of your life then your best friend. This story is so romantic and feels like the fairy tale everyone wants, aside from those parts where Darcy doesn't know how Elliot is feeling and feels conflicted between him and Tate. But even with that every man in her life makes her feel like she is the most special woman in the world. Who doesn't want that?!

She pretty much knows Elliott better than anyone. And it's the same for him. The only problem is that fear has been preventing him from being completely honest. Seems she knows everything there is to know about Elliott except the woman he fell for. But as always there is a lesson that he will need to learn. Inaction doesn't solve the issue. Maybe she has the same feelings. Maybe progressing from friends to lovers will be as natural for them as hanging out has always been. One thing is for sure, they won't know until they give it a try. This story is an easy read without a lot of conflict. It is great if you need something light to read. A long time coming love story.

3.75 stars-- THE DATE DARE is the first instalment in Tara Sue Me’s contemporary, adult , romance series. This is thirty year old, trainer for the Georgia Storm professional lacrosse team Elliott Taber, and Darcy Patrick’s story line.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Elliott and Darcy) THE DATE DARE follows the friends to lovers relationship between thirty year old, trainer for the Georgia Storm professional lacrosse team Elliott Taber, and Darcy Patrick. Best friends since the age of five, Elliott and Darcy have done everything together except fall in love but fall in love Elliott did, and desperate to prove there may be someone else, Elliott dares Darcy to find each other a date, not expecting Darcy to fall for another man. As Darcy begins to ‘date’ the man with whom Elliott sets her up, Elliott battles between head and heart as he and Darcy grow further apart. What ensues are the back and forth dating experiences of Darcy and Elliott, and the potential fall-out as Elliott struggles to let Darcy know, she is the one.

We are introduced to former professional baseball player Tate Maddox, actress Kara Devine, and Elliott’s sister Carsen Taber. While Tate and Darcy continue to build their relationship, nothing goes according to plans for Elliott Taber. Carsen and Tate’s story line is next in The Date Deal.

The relationship between Elliott and Darcy is a best friends to lovers romance wherein Darcy is oblivious to Elliott’s attraction, and Elliott struggles to tell Darcy the truth. The $ex scenes are limited but passionate.

THE DATE DARE is a cute but predictable story; a sweet, sexy and sassy tale where love is but a friendship away. The premise is spirited; the romance is flirty ; the characters are colorful ,energetic and fun.
