I'm always looking for ideas to help with bonding as a family but I felt this book was disappointing. Out of 52 weeks of information and ideas, the majority were food related. As a vegan family there were some that were completely non-relevant to us (like the week about fish). There was some good information but I thought there would be more about creating connections as a family than what food we should be eating.

Thank you Chronicle Books and Netgalley for this ARC.

This book offered tips for families to improve living through making small changes
Some of the tips were inspiring and useful but there were many that seemed so common sense I wondered why they were in the book. I felt that many families would already have much of the knowledge being outlined as the tips and would have benefited from some more original tips. For example most parents possibly know they should provide a rainbow diet so I would have found a more useful tip to be “ spend 20. minutes twice a week chopping fruit for a fruit salad or Veges for a salsa”, giving examples on how to incorporate a rainbow diet rather than saying eat a rainbow diet.

This is a nice, doable way to make positive changes for your family in small weekly doses. Most of the things on the list are things we already know to do -- sleep better, drink enough water, laugh more, etc. -- but the author offers a range of helpful tips for each one to actually make it easier to accomplish. This could be a fun way to start a new year and try to do better all around, with 52 healthy goals instead of one big resolution. Hopefully, by the end of each week working on that one goal, it will have become more of an ingrained habit long-term.

I read a temporary ARC for the purpose of review.

A nice book of ideas to improve your family life one week at a time! I will be putting some of these tips to use in my family’s Future.

The short chapters are focused on very approachable, realistic (truly small and meaningful) changes or the family. The book was well laid out with an explanation of the change, research that supports its impact on individual and family, and actionable steps to achieve these changes over time. Mild complaint was that I think the book might have benefited to be edited down to smaller amount of changes. I like the weekly intention, but many changes became redundant (eat the rainbow, eat local, avoid additives, avoid excess sugar, improve the medicine cabinet AKA use more homeopathic methods).

I really enjoyed the premise of this book but the large watermark on each page made it very difficult to read, I know it is a galley but I was so distracted it was hard to follow. Love the premise, will definitely purchase and read the physical copy.

I was unable to review. Book would not open when I tried to download on my IPhone. Apologies. Any advice, kindle version or print ARC would be accepted and appreciated.
