Saturday for many of us is an epitome of less crazy and less hectic day, time when we can relax and enjoy life more, take more time to prepare a meal, and, maybe prepare something more elaborate and intricate. Or, just make something simple but with more enjoyment, What if the Saturday mood transports to other days (or evenings) of the weeks? Plenty of straightforward recipes, some using pantry staples, and yet, it makes you feel like the Saturday night is still young and a lazy Sunday morning ahead!

If you tired of making the same dishes over and over again, this cookbook is for you!! Every Day is Saturday is such an inspiring cookbook. I love the author's writing style, gorgeous photograph, and what I love the most about this book is how easy it is to follow the recipe's instructions.
Also, there's a section for the pantry list for stuff that you need and a section for "what to do with leftover". Truly this is a must-have cookbook, Can't recommend enough!

This cookbook embodies the spirit of hygge and comfort foods like a warm hug. I loved the transition from weeknight to weekend meals and I found the recipes easy to follow. From brunch to midday meals to grazing platters, there is something in this book for everyone. My two favorite sections of the cookbook were "Cooking for Friends" and "Projects." I liked the pizza night and the all-occasion taco feast meal ideas for entertaining a large group, which are now personal favorites. Under the "Projects" section, I liked the spicy vegetable stock and the fabulous Sunday sauce. If you want inspiration and foods that make everyday feel like the weekend, try out Sarah Copeland's Every Day Is Saturday.

I love the title to this cookbook! I am one of those people who through the week tend to do something simple and easy. Maybe not every night but most weeknights. The recipes in this book though changed how I thought about weeknight cooking.

There are recipes for every meal from breakfast to dinner to a potluck. I loved how the recipes were simple enough to use what I almost always had on hand. Yet the meals they made were elaborate in taste and looks.

I will admit that I purchased this particular cookbook after reviewing the kindle copy so I could take notes along the side as well as have a book to flip through when I am meal planning.

Title: This book is--definitely--not for all cooks

This is a teaching/learning book. This is a cook book for those of you who are floundering: Trying to feed your young family nutritional and tasty meals, while working very hard at a day job, and it's wearing you down. If you are grasping at straws, this book will throw you a life line. And if you are willing to hand yourself over to Sarah Copeland and her beliefs and visions--you may find peace and tranquility in your life and in your kitchen. Or you might not......

But if you already have a firm grip on your cooking game plan, you might not get much out of this book and these recipes. Don't get me wrong: There are some interesting recipes and little gems of ingredient combinations to make the book worthwhile. But most of these ideas and recipes are just reaffirmation of what an experienced cook has seen before.

Personally, I cannot get my brain around Copeland's logic and her belief that her tips and recipes will surround me with an "every day is Saturday" feeling. Maybe there is a path forward somewhere in this book, but I'm not feelin' it. Maybe because I've already been there, done that, and I got to my "Saturday feeling" with different pantry staples, different "always in my frig" and "always on my grocery list" foods, and different go-to recipes. Maybe because I'm beyond her stage in life and family. And I think maybe region of the country and rural-versus-"country"-versus-city has a lot to do with whether you can buy into her ingredient choices. But bottom line: My lifestyle is no where near Copeland's lifestyle, so her logic does not come close to working for me. And that's what you need to think through before you spend your hard-earned money on this book.

This book is a lot about oatmeal and grains, yogurt, eggs, smoked salmon, artisan bread and avocados. (Seven of the 10 items on Copeland's favorite foods list.) It's about her revelation, her awakening, to the value of a good pork shoulder roast. It's about how she found recipes and ingredients that worked for her, and advice about sticking to that which is comfortable and familiar, tried and true.

While I have go-to recipes that I serve to friends and family, and I have certain vegetables and staples in my grocery cart each week, that's not what puts me in my Saturday mood. I'm at a settled-in point where I'm a sponge for unique spice combinations, alternative cooking techniques and investigating unfamiliar ingredients. That's what get's us into our "every day is Saturday" mode. We are into experimenting with different coffee roasts, taste-testing finishing salts, vinegars, fish sauces. We're working through a big basket of bags of heirloom beans. We're making hot sauces from a variety of uncommon peppers that we started from seed. We're making meals from what's growing in our garden.

I go slow on some days to get my "Saturday" feel, reveling in aromas and fiddling with spices, in an eye-catching piece of Staub cookware on my induction cook top. On other days, I can get my "Saturday" feel, by working quickly with a multi-cooker or a small air fryer. So, no. My "Saturday feel" is not Copeland's "Saturday feel".

In my opinion, if you follow Epicurious or the Washington Post cooking series, you won't need this book at all....

Sometimes a cookbook can be lots more than recipes, and Every Day is Saturday: Recipes + Strategies for Easy Cooking, Every Day of the Week (Easy Cookbooks, Weeknight Cookbook, Easy Dinner Recipes) by Sarah Copeland is one of them. The book is filled not only with mouthwatering recipes, but also stories and vignettes that are fun to read. It's always fun to read a book where the personality of the author comes through; it helps readers know that author and want to prepare the dishes. It also helps when there are beautiful photographs, and this cookbook includes plenty of them.

Copeland includes menus that are suitable for a nice family dinner or for entertaining; they aren't too fussy, and are doable for everyone. The recipes are mostly easy and concise - cooks at every level, from beginning to advanced, will be able to turn out picture-perfect dishes. Some of her accompaniments are unexpected, like a Cuban version of black beans and fried plantains to accompany a taco feast - Yum! There is a fabulous recipe for Grilled Skirt Steak with Chimichurri that is requested often, as well as the author's "go to" Magic Pork Shoulder which is a cut above and is delicious. The recipes have international leanings: Italian, Mexican, Cuban, and American, and there is something in this excellent cookbook that will appeal to almost everyone. The side dishes are nice, the desserts are mouthwatering, and the main dishes and salads are incredible.

The cookbook includes about 100 recipes, which isn't a huge amount, but since they are appealing ? some unique and others traditional with innovative twists - there are plenty of recipes to keep cooks busy and happy for a very long time. This cookbook is definitely worth adding to every cookbook collection and will be used often.

What a fabulous book! Jam-packed with recipes, hints, photos, ideas, menus, etc. Once you start looking at it, you won't be able to just put it down. And don't look at it if you are hungry! Most of the recipes are easy to make, so don't be overwhelmed. The author really helps those who are not extremely experienced in all of these areas. I loved it. I highly recommend this book. You will look like a pro when having dinner or party from these recipes!

Busy working women know that the phrase Everyday is Saturday refers to your ability to cook for your family on the weekend when you have more time to make sure the meals are enjoyable. This cookbook includes many delicious, quick, easy recipes that will in fact let you do your weekend cooking everyday. My daughter and I split the recipes between us to try and have yet to find one that we thought did not fit the title. With little time to cook, this book should be one of your favorites!

This is a very nice cookbook with some very nice recipes in them and it's very well written and photographed. I wish they would have made it a little easier to review this book, so worried about copyright infringement, they made it almost impossible to make some of the recipes and give an honest opinion of them along with lines, and marks that ruin the beauty of the book, I really wonder why it was even available for review purposes! However, that aside, it is a book that I would like to investigate further and make a few dishes out of so I can give a full, honest review! Perhaps after it's published, I'll buy it and come back and update my review! (Hence 3 stars)

I have only seen this in digital form (I prefer print for cookbooks) but was impressed by the beautiful pictures accompanying the recipes. It is a well organized and easy to use cookbook. The pictures made me hungry and want to get right in the kitchen. There was a nice mix of familiar foods and new recipes that I have not tried that would make this cookbook useful and fun for me. Even the more familiar food were done in different ways that I wanted to try. The recipes all appeared healthy, fresh, and tasty. I enjoyed looking through this cookbook and look forward even more to tasting the recipes. (hope my attempts look as great as the photos!)

Aspirational ~ Attractive ~ Mouthwatering
tl; dr: Easy food that looks hard

Sarah Copeland claims she loves a full house. I would be happy to test her word and hang out. She seems like the sort of woman who is easy to be friends with, easy going but not flaky. I say this because her approach to food is super chill. She offers recipes and then ways to do this same thing with other stuff. Her book has some twee aspects like kinds of toast. But, don't discount the book because of those gimmicks. There are plenty of really easy recipes, like brown rice porridge or the Hungarian plate, that would make keeping a healthy family easier. I really want to own this cookbook.
