Wow.
I really really enjoyed this. Catwoman/Selina was such a relatable character.! The girl's been through some things.! I loved seeing her thoughts on homelessness change as a teen's naturally would progress. I loved seeing her find her found family but also do so well on her own <3 So much of her story spoke to me.

At first I was wondering why the author felt including batman was necessary as if catwoman couldn't stand on her own but that thought was over quickly. It was So good seeing what's rarely talked about which is Batman's high school years. Selina and Bruce's relationship was so good? I needed more.!

I wanted to like this one because I'm such a huge fan of DC and Catwoman. It was just an okay read for me.

Nothing to do with what we like about the Catwoman character. I know they're being reinvented for a younger audience, but there ought to be some reason for the name. The contents are depressing and repulsive.

Graphic novels aren't usually my go-to, but this origin story at "Catwoman" was enjoyable enough. It tackles some harder topics, that as a reader, I tend to avoid. The art in the book is well done.

I did not expect to enjoy this story so much! There is something so special about a superhero story. It was hands down an incredibly fun read.

I’m really starting to get into graphic novels and getting the chance to read and review one was very exciting. I’m a fan of Lauren Myracle as an author so requesting this one was a no brainer. What an excellent way to start off reviewing graphic novels.
This was a gorgeously written and illustrated graphic novel. I was beyond impressed with the novel as a whole. The story and plot-line was great and kept me interested from start to finish.
I absolutely want to continue on with this series if more come out. I’m looking forward to reading and expanding my knowledge of graphic novels.

An excellently told, well illustrated origin story for Catwoman. Her background is not a happy one but the story of the young Catwoman's experiences is deftly told.

If you're expecting a Catwoman origin story or some superheroics you couldn't be more wrong. It almost feels like a bait and switch because if I changed Selina Kyle's name in the book and removed A Catwoman Tale from the title I'd give odds you wouldn't know this was supposed to be about Catwoman. This is a book about an abused runaway who becomes a thief through circumstances beyond her control. There's also some subplots that go absolutely nowhere and a tacked on ending that made it feel like there wasn't really an end to the book at all.

There's a LOT of cursing in the book. Multiple f bombs and references to penises. I wasn't offended or anything but it felt very out of place in a DC comic geared towards 8th graders when their comics are certainly way more censured and mainly written for older audiences.

Isaac Goodheart's art was very solid. I dug the blue monochromatic art.

I enjoyed this title very much. I thought the story was well-developed and the art matched the tone of the story. I also appreciated the extensive list of resources in the back domestic violence, self-harm and animal cruelty.

Under the Moon: A Catwoman Tale by Lauren Myracle is a great graphic novel and provides an origin story for Selina Kyle. Selina is such a strong character and she definitely shows her strength throughout the story. I like her friendship with Bruce Wayne and the other friendships she makes along the way.

Sometimes controversial, always prolific, Myracle has ventured into the world of graphic novels
with Under the Moon: A catwoman Tale. Illustrated by Issac Goodhart, published by DC Ink, they have created a backstory for Selina Kyle, aka The Catwoman.

In DC Lore, the Catwoman is one of Batman's oldest antagonists. She first appeared in 1940, and has had many adventures on multiple earths. Many none comic readers recognize her as Bruce Wayne's possible companion and possible happy ending in the Christopher Nolan's trilogy.

Here Myracle and Goodhart have created the world of Catwoman retold for the middle grade reader.
The graphic novel presents and origin story that differs from the usual canon. Selina is a good girl, a good student, and the defender of the underdog. She is also the victim of parental neglect and physical, emotional, and psychological abuse from the man who lives with her mother. She finds a small kitten, opening her heart to the possibility of love. Tragically and abruptly, her cat is killed by her tormentor. In psychic agony, Selina cuts herself 3 times, done to ease her pain and done to memorialize her pet. From here the story truly takes off with Selina leaving her home and beginning to form her identity as Catwoman. The remainder of the novel explores her growth as well as the backstory of her relationship with Bruce Wayne.

Isaac Goodhart known primarily for his work on the Postal series for Image Comics, here shows a restrained pen. He uses shades of blue, black, and white for his illustrations. His images are filled with action, both overt and subtle. Small details often move the plot forward. His POV is often cinematic, a reader can almost hear a sound track accompanied the strong scenes.

As the storyline does include graphic examples of suicidal feelings and self harm, the publishers have included suitable suggestions for those who might be experiencing similar feelings.

Recommended as a good introduction into the DC universe.

Selina Kyle is a great character, and this is a wonderful showing of her as a child, before she became Catwoman. Good for fans and newcomers alike.

I never cared much for Catwoman, but Myracle brought me into her world! I absolutely loved this and would recommend it.

I enjoyed the story. I will always read anything with Catwoman. The story held my attention the entire time. The story had a very well pace. There were some dry spots, but I fought through it and continued to read the story.

Doesn't stick to the true catwoman story, but it does read pretty good. Great artwork. Plot was okay.

Wasn't bad, the illustrations were really nice. Definitely some trigger warnings for abuse and an instance of an animal getting fatally injured. It's no doubt an alternate version of Selina's backstory. I did like the aspect of her and Bruce knowing each other for so long.

Again, the art rules this story! This is the Catwoman origin story we needed but so, so sad. I appreciate the resources at the end.

Thanks to the publishers for the advanced copy. I ended up reading the published version after it was archived. I loved the backstory and how her challenges were handled. I knew very little about the anti-heroine Catwoman and this graphic novel made me want to read more about the character.

I really enjoyed this version of Catwoman's origins. I wasn't sure how I'd feel about it based on my lack of knowledge with everything Batman, but you don't really need it for this title. The story is full of Selina's grief and pain and that is carried out in every page. I do wish the story had been longer and more fleshed out in places, I was left wanting more, but overall it was excellent and very well done. .
