I was completely gripped by this story and was impressed with the writing quality. I was entertained throughout the story and would not hesitate to recommend this book.

The Accident deals with a horrendous, multi-vehicle accident, that caused deaths and terrible injuries to many people. We get to know a couple, Kaitlyn and Ben, Adam, a motorcyclist in the accident, Leah, a nurse who treats one of the injured, and Adayna, an officer who finds another of the injured. Their lives are intertwined both before the accident and after the accident. Their stories actually intertwine as far back as 27 years ago.

Kaitlyn entire story was written extremely well. It seems like she is dealing with all the things that someone being abused would do. Ben is what I think the classic abuser would be,

Parts of the story don't seem plausible to me, such as the spouse not recognizing the other. I just feel like after the bandages are removed and you have been talking to each other some memory of the other should arise. Some connection.

Excellent thriller type book.
Just when you thought, you had it all figured out,it went another way.
Who would have thought a huge pile up on an Interstate Highway, could cause such pain and such joy at the same time?
In one way or another, several of the victims
and persons, who came to investigate the horrific accident were inter-related in one way or another.
Hard to tell more without giving too much away.
Thank you to Net Galley for the opportunity to read and review another great book and to the author "Donna M. Zadunajsky" for writing it.

This was one of the best book I have read this year!
Kaitlyn is a woman trapped in an abusive relationship for years, her husband Ben beats her over and over causing a miscarage of her first child by hitting her in the stomach to intentionally causing her to lose the precious baby she is carrying. Ben is a man that was severely abused as a child, never healing from that abuse he carried it into his adult life. He feels that he owns his wife Kaitlyn. Unbenounced to Kaitlyn Ben has set his eyes on her a very long time ago.
Stalking her in college for a very long period of time before he even introduced himself. Ben put his best foot forward with lots of kindness, flowers, and caring till after they were married, then he showed the real Ben beating his wife for the smallest infraction. This is a very sad fact in society today. There are so many woman today suffering abuse at the hands of the one they love. Adam was Kaitlyn's true love long before meeting Ben. While Kaitlyn was in college and Adam had gone of to fight in Afghanistan. She prayed for her loves safe return. Instead , she gets a dear Jane letter that she believes is from Adam, breaking up with her. In comes Ben and her life is changed forever. Who sent the Dear Jane letter? And will Kaitlyn be able to escape her abusive husband and save her 2nd unborn child. Will she ever see Adam again some 5 years later ? This was a GREAT read I cheered Kaitlyn on in her quest to fight for a new life free of abuse.

Thank you to Netgalley and BookBuzz.net for there ARC of this great book for my honest opinion.

I wanted to know what was going on from every page i was trying to guess the next. it was well written. An accident leaving two injured and three others involved, all their lives could be changed forever. I did feel like it jumped back and forth a little bit which made it a tad confusing.

I really loved that there was so much cohesion between the characters and how the accident affected them and others. I loved that the book drew you in and made you care about what happens. I would definitely be interested in reading more from this author in the future. Thanks for the ARC, Net Galley.

The mystery/thriller is lacking, but I kept reading...the twist is almost too obvious but the story is well written and keeps the reader interested in what happens next.

Donna M. Zadunajsky writes a story of Kaitlyn who can’t escape an abusive husband to save herself. He has threatened to kill her family if she ever tried. Ben, her husband, manipulated himself into her life. Her one live is gone and heartbroken it’s Ben with charm and kindness who she turns to. Charm that ended after the wedding. Then a horrific accident happens and the twists of fate collide for more than just Kaitlyn.
I received this ARC from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review. This is my first book by Donna M. Zadunajsky but it won’t be my last. It’s a fast read and worth your time.

Thank you Netgalley for the opportunity to preview The Accident by Donna Zadunajsky. This reminded me of someone trying to connect the dots thru story telling, but this just didn't work for me.
2 stars.

I started this book believing it to be a thriller/mystery...... It wasn't either, it reminded me of Danielle Steele very early books before she honed her writing skills. There wasn't really a plot to the book - it was just 5 or 6 characters each travelling a path that by unbelievable coincidence were all intertwined. I feel a bit cheated of the time I have up to read this book to be honest and really am struggling to find any positives.

A car accident changes the lifes of several people including a police officer with a big secret and a woman whose abusive husband may or may not have been killed in the wreck. This big moves along quickly. Even though at times when you are reading this book, you may be able to predict where the story is heading that doesn't make the end any less sweeter. If you like simple books with a good story, interesting characters, and an ending that completely ties up all the lose ends in a satisfying manner, you will enjoy this book.

The Accident deals with a horrendous, multi vehicle accident, that caused deaths and terrible injuries to many people. We get to know a couple, Kaitlyn and Ben, Adam, a motorcyclist in the accident, Leah, a nurse who treats one of the injured, and Adayna, an officer who finds another of the injured. Their lives are intertwined both before the accident and after the accident, as the story deals with various timelines from as far back as 27 years ago to the present day.

The part of the story that was the most compelling to me was the relationship between emotionally and physically abused Kaitlyn and her abuser, her husband, Ben. Although never having been in Kaitlyn's situation, the handling of her and Ben's story rings true to me. Kaitlyn is an educated, smart young woman who became trapped by Ben's manipulation and narcissism, in such a way that she feels that she has no way out, no way not to make things worse, no hope to ever escaping Ben and his brutal treatment.

Other parts of the story almost took on the quality of a fairy tale as people and events intertwine in such unlikely ways, as if the world must be inhabited with just a handful of people for all these coming togethers of people who were related to other people in one way or another. The coincidences are so numerous and unlikely that at times I wanted to stop reading the book but the desire to see how things would be resolved was stronger. Much of the book telegraphs what will happen so there weren't really many surprises for me but I still wanted to see where the author was going with the situations that she'd created.

Another part of the story that gave me a hard time, as it has in another book I read last year, was that a spouse would not recognize her husband or ex boyfriend, even though both had head trauma and partial bandages on their faces. Even after bandages are removed and after she's been talking to the person for days, the wife didn't know what was going on. I wasn't able to see this happening in the way it's portrayed and it took away a lot from my enjoyment of the book. I know other readers didn't seem to have a problem with this issue so seemed to have enjoyed the book much more than I did.

Overall I'm giving this book 3 stars and that is due to the treatment of Kaitlyn and Ben's relationship which was very believable to me. I also liked the idea of what the author was trying to show us with the accidents, the people involved, and how they all intertwined but that part of the book just seemed too improbable for me to get my head around. Thank you to Donna M. Zadunajsky and NetGalley for this ARC.

A very different read. While some parts are unbelievable, the plot is intriguing. There is plenty happening and some odd twists. It took me a bit to figure out what I really felt about the book. Overall, it's enjoyable if you can suspend your disbelief.

Maybe this book is a little like the movie Crash, where lives intertwine and overlap in unforeseen ways. Unfortunately, it did not pull me in and what started out as a promising premise devolved into a ho-hum kind of read. Would not recommend.

**Spoilers Ahead**

There were just too many holes or stretches in the plot for me to truly enjoy this. Did Kaitlyn really never notice the remarkable similarities between her ex and her husband? How bad could the injuries have been for her to mistake one man for another? The adoptive mom/daughter scenario was just as far-fetched. All of the plot "twists" were telegraphed waaaaay far in advance and the characters were not that sympathetic.

An unusual mystery and love story. The characters seem real even though the coincidences seem bit unbelievable. a great chic read fro the beach!

THE ACCIDENT occurred on the wet and slick Ohio Turnpike after a morning rain. Forty-five year old Adanya Moore, a very dedicated second generation police officer, arrives on a horrific scene of mangled vehicles, some overturned, at least two motorcycles, medical personnel and equipment, and hovering news station helicopters, with at least ten individuals injured and two deceased. The injured were transported to either Edon or Franklin hospital.

As Officer Moore makes one final assessment before the State Police takes over, she hears someone calling for help and discovers a trapped man with blood covering half his face from a possible head trauma; he is unable to give them his name. After rescuers remove him from the burning truck and medical personnel whisk him away to the hospital in Edon, Moore discovers a wallet on the ground that contains a picture driver’s license that looks like that injured man
.
One of the injured men was taken to Franklin, and a CT scan determined that not only was he brain dead, but he had a pre-existing brain tumor that was going to kill him sooner or later anyway. Since he couldn’t be identified nor his next of kin notified, he was placed on life support until a family member could be found and a decision could be made. At the risk of losing her job, Nurse Leah takes it upon herself to help find John Doe’s family.

In addition to Officer Moore and Nurse Leah, the narrative, which skips back and forth in time, also covers the back stories of other individuals who were affected by the accident. Ben, a traveling bank employee, is a physically and mentally abusive husband to his wife Kaitlyn, who is employed as a teacher. Army veteran Adam, a ninth-grade schoolteacher, had previously dated Kaitlyn in college.

As I reflect back on this story, I realize that although the writing could be more polished, the premise of the book is brilliant—how one incident—in this case, an automotive accident—had an impact and domino effect on the lives of many—the investigating officers, the medical personnel, spouses, family, to name a few. Once you get used to the time skips, you will not want to put this book down. The future career of this author looks very promising.

I really struggled with this book I can usually handle going back into the past and then into the present, but this book made it very difficult for me. Introducing all the characters who would be affected by this accident was okay, but then going into their histories was a bit confusing. I would rather have read as their lives unfolded The whole book was a contrived, convoluted mess.,
